2025 Nissan Sentra Transmission (CVT) / Driveshaft Recall: 26V410 / PMA68
Very small recall. It seems identical to the 2024 Sentra recall from mid-2024. This won't help with the perception of Nissan CVTs...
What: The front left-hand driveshaft may not be fully seated in the CVT assembly, which can cause a transmission fluid leak and potentially a sudden loss of drive power. If the shaft fully disengages while driving, the vehicle may also roll away after being placed in Park if the parking brake is not applied.
Why: Sudden loss of motive power without warning while driving, and potential rollaway in Park if the parking brake is not engaged.
Cause: A GKN Automotive supplier tooling error produced driveshaft bearings with a slightly oversized diameter, preventing full seating in the CVT.
Scope: 946 total vehicles; estimated 3.8% with defect; 13 warranty claims, 3 technical reports, and 2 consumer affairs cases. No accidents or injuries reported.
Production Dates: 2025 Nissan Sentra (946 units): September 11, 2025 - September 13, 2025
Fix: Dealers will inspect the front left-hand driveshaft. If fully seated, no action needed. If not fully seated, both the driveshaft and CVT assembly will be replaced, free of charge. Parts are available. Inspection takes approximately 0.5 hours; full replacement may take up to 10.5 hours. Until repaired, owners are advised to always apply the parking brake after shifting into Park.
