FANS Being defensive/angry of idols getting done procedures
Yeah I had to put a trigger warning because I’ve seen that almost all the fans get triggered over this topic.
I’ve been confused about this for years of being a kpop fan. And I’m not against plastic surgery. Everybody feels insecure. The pressure to look prettier and perfect is high. Especially in east asia. And I understand that I mean no matter how pretty I look even I would get at least one surgery to make me look good. Cause why not it’s just a harmless little change it wouldn’t even be that visible. and let’s not lie, every idol has done at least one procedure ALMOST everyone of them (maybe not all) even if it’s not visible to the public eye to see the difference and that’s totally FINE. my problem is why fans get defensive whenever someone says that they look different. Sometimes they didn’t even mean it in a bad way. They just really saw something that caught their eye and just pointed that out in a good way. I’ve seen fans attacking harmless comments and let’s not ignore the fact that they were right. but instead of ignoring them or agreeing with them fans get defensive and make it a big deal. and the drama continues.
why? Plastic surgery isn’t a crime. It has actually helped some people medically. It’s not something bad to be defensive about. if the idols are comfortable enough to end their insecurities why can’t fans accept it as they are? and they’re not gonna tell that to the public I mean why would they. some fans deny the facts and send death threats because the commenter said X idol got a nose job in a harmless way. I’m not saying that making a comment of someone else’s body and life is a good thing. my problem is why fans get so angry over the fact that they did a procedure. I’ve seen some fans say stuff like “no baby I know you’re naturally pretty and didn’t get any plastic surgery” what? somebody can still be naturally pretty and get a procedure done because they liked it? I don’t get why fans get so angry over something so silly as that. it’s their money and their body. what’s wrong with wanting to look prettier. It boosts their confidence in a way. And it’s a really good thing right? Because if something makes you happy just go for it. same as alcohol and smoking. Even I smoke and drink. Not promoting it as something good. But if you’re an adult and know what’s bad and what’s not, and the limit? Just go for it.
And being defensive and angry over something as silly as this is actually really childish because they’re just denying the obvious. I mean that’s okay if they get done something it’s not a bad thing or something to insult.
