please rate my cv for work experience and if it it’s okay for an actual job (as a teen)

i actually posted my old cv here and took the advice of the people who were very kind to help out! i made it into a one-pager, made it concise and easy to read, and no school achievements like grades and only the important project-based ones that shows how i developed skills. also, i led 2 research projects where we wrote a scientific paper - so it includes me interacting with ppl and emailing establishments as well as collaborating with my fellow classmates to do it, and took feedback from a research adviser. i definitely think it also shows soft skills but i dont know how to write it. please leave your opinions and what i should do to fix it

philippines to italy for vacation without experience in traveling (never went abroad)

hi everyone! i wanted to ask any filipinos with prior experience in traveling to any country in europe as their first country.

my girlfriend and i are long-distance (i’m from the philippines as well but i migrated to europe). as of now, we are in university and not able to see each other. as a compromise, i thought of just visiting a country we have always wanted to go and meet there instead (in the future). however, i got curious as my girlfriend has never traveled outside of the philippines. i have been traveling since i was a kid and have gone to dubai, vietnam, hongkong, and singapore, and of course, currently residing in a european country - so i believe it is more easier for me to travel (in a way?).

before i go off topic and blabber, going back to the main question: have you ever experienced going to european countries as your first out-of-the-country travel? if so, may i know what you did to be able to do so? because immigration is genuinely so scary 🥹🥹🥹 - how did you not get offloaded? it feels like getting on the wrong side of filipino immigration workers will put u in a huge risk of getting offloaded !

thank u in advance!

before and after sex tips to prevent infections, uti, etc.

hi everyone!

i just wanted to ask tips on things/precautions to do before and after sex as im scared of getting infections 🥲. i’m not a baby gay + me and my girlfriend are long-distance, but i might go home to her this year so i just wanted some tips as it would be our first time having sex (in case i don’t, it’s still good info to know how to take care of my/our vagina😅)

also, do you have any tips on how to make the vagina smell/taste good? i’ve been seeing people post tips on how to, but im skeptical because it is a literal organ and it seems impossible for it to smell or taste like anything other than an organ. but some people say it doesn’t smell like anything, so im curious if you guys take any precautions

thank you very much!

how was your gap year experience? eg how did u convince ur parents + what did you do during ur gap year

hi guys! i’m going to be y13 this yr and i’ve been contemplating on doing a gap year since im an immigrant so doing uni right after a levels feels very wrong as i’d like to primarily on my a levels. so as the title says, how did u guys find it? what did u guys do during ur gap year and how did u manage to convince ur parents? my parents have this weird obsession of me finishing school immediately so i can have a job, but i feel like it isn’t right for me and rushing things makes me feel pressured and i tend to dread whatever comes next

to people who did years of long distance without seeing each other, how did you survive?

hi everyone! basically i’m 17 and me and my girlfriend have been in a long distance rs for a year and 2 months. it’s been killing both of us, especially with the big time difference of 7 hours (during spring+ summer, in autumn and winter it’s 8). she’s in asia while i migrated to europe last year. we have been together for a year and a half! i love her so much and it always breaks my heart when she says she misses me. you see, returning back to my home country isn’t possible as the cheapest plane tickets cost at least £1,500. it’s not sustainable for me and my family as we are barely surviving here. sometimes i feel very disheartened and scared that we might get tired of the distance as it could take years of not visiting each other due to money problems on both sides as we aren’t rich. please tell me your story and how you guys overcame it🥹 !

my relationship feels wrong

hi! me and my girlfriend have been together for 1 year and 5 months. we first met when we were 15 \^\^! she is my first long-term partner and we’ve been through so much together as we’ve been long-distance for 1 year and 1 month 🥹(i migrated to another country). so you can imagine a lot of arguing as this is both out first long-term relationship

lately, i’ve been feeling this pit in my chest. you see, my love language is words of affirmation and hers is physical touch - things that we can’t give each other because 1) we’re long-distance and 2) she doesn’t like words or doesn’t know what to say. 2 or 3 days ago i sent a rant while she was asleep because we have a 7-hour time difference in the summer (i’m in europe and she’s in asia). it was pretty long because i’ve been bottling it up for a long time (it’s not about our relationship, it’s just about things like insecurity and instability in life). when i woke up, all she said regarding to my rant is “my love 😿” “are you okay already?” and when i read that, i felt..weird? weird in the sense that i poured my troubles and that’s all she managed to say 😅. i knew that she was the quiet type when we first got together, so it’s my fault as well. i thought that patience and understanding is what we needed. but it feels so heavy when i’m vulnerable because we’re long-distance, and words of affirmation are what i need. and it feels like i never have it so i’m in this constant state of worry. it’s hard to feel love through words when you can’t hear it from your partner, so i started saying things like words of comfort when she’s ranting, hoping she’ll catch up and do the same thing. omg of course i say words of comfort to soothe her and not just for her to catch up!! 😭. but it feels like i’m projecting stuff that i wish she would say and do to me as well

honestly, one of my love languages is curiosity. i want someone to ask me what my hopes and dreams are, to know what keeps me awake at night, what my biggest fears are - something deep and meaningful. i also want to know everything about her. because to me, that’s what’s intimate. sharing your feelings to one another, things you can’t say to other people. but i just realized that we never had any deep conversations about our hopes and dreams and everything in-between :)). when i share mine, she doesn’t really respond to it. fun fact: i confronted her about it months ago. i really hate being vulnerable with her and she doesn’t say anything. it feels like she’s uninterested in me and who i am. when i ask her deep questions like “what’s your passion in life? what do you want to be” i’m always met with “idk” 😅 or “i haven’t thought about it.” so it’s rlly frustrating :)

idk if i can still handle this because what we consider as love isn’t being met. i can’t provide her the comfort of physical touch while she can’t provide me the comfort of words of affirmation. i’m at a loss. the thing i hate most is silence now that we’re long-distance. people here can’t understand me on a deeper level because i find it hard to confide to them bc i’m from another country, and my friends back home have moved on from their lives. so most of the time, i carry the weight of my problems and just sit in my sadness. and when i do rant, i’m meant with either: nothing or the shortest response ever

please help me. i love my sweet girl so much, but i can’t stop this feeling - the thought that we were never compatible in the first place

vitamin c serum + salicylic acid + exfoliants recommendation for sensitive skin

hi everyone! as the title says, i need some recommendations! i’m 17 and i am aware that maybe it’s too young for extra skincare products that aren’t a necessity, but i got really burnt due to the sun so my face and arms + hands became 4 shades darker than the rest of my body. i don’t mind being dark but im not really comfortable showing my skin to even out my skin tone - so it feels really weird for my face to be very dark compared to my body. i wanted to restore my skin barrier and at least get it back to my original skin tone. i wear sunscreen but the sticky feeling after putting it on makes me hate reapplying it due to the heat - which is a big mistake, and ill be reapplying it from now on - so it’s a big factor. any recommendations will help, thank you!!

shampoo for everyday use recommendations

hi everyone!

so i’ve been using the johnsons baby shampoo (the pink one) up until the last 2 weeks - sadly, i ran out. basically, my hair is really oily and i have this white, mushy thing when i scratch it, so i’ve been washing it 3-4 times in one sitting using the johnsons shampoo, which works well (i suppose). i wash my hair every 2 days as it feels too dry on my ends if i wash it everyday but too oily if it exceeds 2 days

after my shampoo ran out my mom had a spare, which is the dove keratin shampoo. i do the same routine but it’s not doing a great job at cleaning my scalp, so i searched it up and it says that it’s not good to use it too much bc of protein overload - and i’ve been using it as my main shampoo 😭 so my hair has been brittle

im located in the uk so any shampoo recommendations u have is great! anything good for everyday use and is not harsh as i have a sensitive scalp ^^

thank you!!

what to do with my long distance relationship after graduating uni

hiya! so a quick backstory:

i moved to the uk a year ago and i was born and raised somewhere in southeast asia. i just turned 17 ^^. me and my girlfriend met when i was 15 then we got into a relationship 3 months before my 16th birthday. so we’ve been in a long distance for a year and 3 months now

so here’s where my concern is 😅

  1. i dont think ill be back in my home country any time soon as i want to finish my a levels and university here (undergrad) then work a few years to go get a post-graduate degree and maybe a phd - this means i’ll be spending quite a lot for my education and might have to live with my parents until the to make my costs bearable as i plan to take on part-time jobs while being an undergrad

  2. i have a feeling that my gf would prefer to stay in our home country (i asked her about it once and she said that she’s open to it, but my gut feeling says otherwise) it feels really unfair for her if i ask her to come live with me here in the uk bc that’s where her family and friends are + i know the feeling of being rlly out of place when migrating to a different country. i don’t want her to feel isolated like i did 🥲

  3. i’m worried about our relationship bc 1 year is actually so bad, what more if it was like idk 10 years to wait ‘til we live tgt bc i want to get my post-grad and phd 🥹🥹. breaking up is not an option!!! i cannot imagine a life without her

  4. if we travel back and forth to see each other - eg every 6 months we go here - then our wallet would die

so im in a bit of a pickle bc im overthinking my future while also thinking ab how to maintain my relationship with my gf ☹️

ik i can talk to her directly but she’s asleep rn and im panicking in the moment

any advice would really help! thank u sm and happy pride month ^^

u/lowkeycrashingout — 4 months ago

okay, before y’all judge me for the stupid ahh question, please keep in mind 😿:

- i’m an immigrant who just moved to london 11 months ago w no prior knowledge about a levels n gcses, so they js kind of dumped me here without teaching me how it works (i get majority of how it works but still not that fully knowledgeable about it)

- culture shock in education !!!

- im overthinking right now as this week are my end-of-year exams that make up 50% of my predicted grade - and im panicking + need some reassurance or answers on what i need to do

basically, i do aqa englit lit, business and sociology. business - highest subj so far, sociology - mid, eng lit - the bane of my existence

quick backstory: where im from, we never wrote essays or analyses literature because honestly, our education kinda shit. there is such a big difference between how it works here and my country, so it’s not a surprise i started failing here. i took eng lit bc i luv reading, now i’ve come to realise how much i hate writing so muuuchhh

anyways, i just finished my english exam today - so 2 questions, 1 per topic (gothic and drama/poetry). i wrote a lot of shit in gothic where i didn’t even start in drama. so basically, im cooked asf. no doubt that they’ll be failing me and i’ll be repeating the year

so here’s the big question: if i do fail and have to repeat the year, can i switch out english and do art while moving on to y13 with business and sociology? bc it seems such a waste to redo the year if my business and sociology grades are good. and i rlly don’t want to be an unc - i already take gcse maths classes with y11 (yes, i learn gcse maths and eng lang along w my a levels), and i have no friends there bc i feel so unc and awkward 😭

my options are: move to another sixth form and redo y12, redo y12 in my school, or do y13 doing business and sociology + art in y12 at the same time

do you guys think it’s possible? did any of u guys have the same experience?

thank u!

please recommend me some wlw books! no tiktok books or heavy smut as the main plot please. if the tiktok book is rlly that good, i might consider. preferably books that share the same vibe as the well of loneliness - anything that’s heart breaking and relatable as books r my only source of comfort as a closeted les to my family🥹 thank you!
