anyone else think her whispers are like crazy long?
Almost 30, just got glasses for the first time!
i can finally see lol!! i'm a big big fan of driving but i've always been extremely nearsighted, and it turns out i have pretty hardcore astigmatism, and i seriously couldn't believe i was just living like that. i'm really good at driving, it was just a matter of having someone who can read street signs from a distance (husband) and the rest is up to mental maps, and also being very very careful at night, especially since everyone's got those bright ass led headlights.
being so nearsighted too, i looked at the ground after i put them on and my brain right away was like "oh we're a foot away from the ground right now," based on the clarity -- i felt SIGNIFICANTLY shorter than usual lmao.
also, it turns out that nobody in my family believed me when i said i was practically blind! i let everyone have a turn with them, especially my husband, who went "oh. damn ok." :/
another thing; they told me that i might get headaches and get dizzy and that i might want to just gradually get used to them. this is markedly false for me so far; i think spending my entire life squinting at everything was what gave me headaches, and i can finally look clearly at things without tensing up my whole face. i'm not straining anymore, i can feel my eyelids relaxing for like the first time ever. plus i managed to pick out a decent looking pair without any help {{my husband is. very honest. about clothes and accessories (nice way to say it) and he got very excited when he saw me in them lol so that's a great sign}}
eta: I'm a man btw lmaooo my husband and i are indeed gay (not worried about it tho lol)
i guessed right!
ever since my baby sister got pregnant ive been having this extremely strong feeling that she was gonna have a girl, especially after i was half-dreaming a few weeks ago and suddenly heard a loud voice announcing the word GIRL and it woke me up, i had such an overwhelming certainty that it Had to be.
her gender reveal was yesterday and they did the wine glasses on the cake, which came out pink! my mom was crying and that made my sister cry and her husband is also a soft and sensitive soul so he was crying too lololol! ive got too many stepnieces/nephews to count but this is my immediate family's first baby ever. i just wanted to share because theres not enough people in my circle to keep talking about it to lol im just so excited to be an uncle
*irrelevant ish but the funniest part is that for years now the running joke was "do you wanna be an aunt or an uncle?" about the unknown gender of babies in the family XD i just like the silly of it.)
How do we feel about little kids asking us or their parents if "that person's a boy or a girl?"
I've had more than a few mortified mothers apologize to me but honestly I kind of love when it happens; i just tell the kid I'm a boy and for the most part they usually just say "oh. ok" and lose interest. have had a few ladies thank me for not being offended and that they've been working on learning things like that about people. I have babysat for my mom's coworker's 3 year old, and when she asked (two hours in) i said the same thing and she also had the same reaction. could not have cared less.
i also sometimes have to reassure their parents that i'm more than happy to be part of a learning experience, but the most i say to young kids like that is just "i know, my hair is too pretty! but boys should get to be pretty too!" i try to keep it very normal, but there's some times where i'm not quite sure what grandma's opinion on pronouns are lol... never got a complaint, but i always wonder if i've ever bothered someone with something i said... but anyway, does anyone else get this often enough to have to break out a scripted response like that?
edit: wow wow wow very mixed reviews down here. amazing to see.
A Happy Noodle sniles for the camera
ok maybe shes a little scrunkly, maybe sorta chunkish. mediumshort hair -- also, i dont think shes actually as chunky as she appears. any insights on that?
