My parents repeatedly tried to get me help but drs refused as I was masking easy enough to pass for neurotypical socially but privately i was all over the show, I struggled with making friends, frequent bedwetting and pant wetting problems until i was 14yo had speech therapy for as long as I can remember and at school was always in the special ed classes for various subjects like Maths and English i was then diagnosed in my late teens/early 20s but by then I'd already failed alot of my gcses as I didnt get the support I needed, im gay and all my bfs have been neurodivergent ocd, autism, and adhd, my friends at school were the down syndrome and autistic kids it like the universe was screaming this kid is neurodivergent and doctors repeatedly missed it or didnt care
If you could pick a team of 3 pokemon that gravitates toward your flavor of neurodivergence who would you pick? Im AuDHD so mine would be
My Autism: Gengar my favourite pokemon and im a big ghost type fan
My Adhd: Umbreon because moon kitty kat
My Audhd: Lucario because steel/fighting type that shoots auraspheres out paws. And also because I feel defensive and have to fight everyday
Special mention for Mimikyu, Dragapult and Ceruledge
I went to my happy place the zoo after some hard weeks I went zoo to go see animals im a huge animal lover and I love nature ☺️
I really wish I didnt have to go out in public it stresses me out so bad I have an autism lanyard and use ear defenders as I get anxious and highly sensitive to noise, im a mad flapper and vocal stimmer and if that dont help I punch myself in the head or hit my head off objects or slap myself then I feel bad that my head hurts I live on my own and I'm honestly struggling im seeing a mental health therapist but I think i need a carer to help me

Im incontinent and in uk we have public toilets called changing places basically bigger baby change rooms is how i describe them,
with fold out large tables to change nappies on and a hoist and a shower,
some are amazing but some are seriously disgusting 🫣 I was in euston train station earlier and not only was there no bin and a pile of used nappies in corner stinking up the place but i was half way through changing myself when suddenly a guy in high vis came in from station as another person wanted to use it and if you dont have radar key (key in uk that allows you to access disabled toilets) you have to ask staff to open it for you, well anyway staff saw me changing my abena apologised and got the hell outta there,
There super convenient but please!!! For my mental sake keep them clean and maintain them please 🙏

Hi im autistic, Today's been a bad day for me and I don't know why.
I've felt completely overwhelmed today. My mom and I went shopping, and I went non-verbal and used my AAC to do most of my talking today. I've been feeling really unsettled, and my stims have been very prominent today -lots of arm, hand, and finger flapping.
I've had headphones on all day with calm music playing. When I bought some t-shirts in Primark and the lady asked if I wanted a bag, I went to say yes but couldn't, so I just did head nods instead and felt like I was close to bursting out crying. My mom asked what was wrong, and I couldn't tell her why, just that I needed a hug.
Anyone got coping strategies for days like this?

Does anyone else act out mentally conversation scenarios like i suffer from limited vocabulary i was non verbal till i was 6yo and had speech therapy most my childhood i still suffer from getting my point across as my brain scrambles things I want to say, masking symptom means I act out various conversation points beforehand so I can go into conversations and have a scripted response for anything I may be asked, most of the time i copy what other people say or quote film or tv scripts that might reference what we talking about.
Sorry if this is incoherent

Hey i was recently diagnosed asd and adhd since my diagnoses ive been learning to unmask let my audhd freak flag fly when it comes to my stims (im a finger chewer and teeth picker so got some chew toys I keep around my neck, im also a arm and wrist flapper and body swayer and bouncer i also go completely non verbal if im very overwhelmed) i bought a audhd badge I keep around my neck in public and feeling more comfortable stimming in public with it on honestly, its honestly been life changing for me learning to not give a f*ck what people think about me and im feeling so much happier since my diagnoses.

Currently struggling with hyperfixations ive got going on around in my head its literally all I think about whilst im not asleep and its driving me crazy to the point I keep punching myself in the head to get my brain to calm down im just feeling really overwhelmed by everything and my stims aren't settling me down ive asked my gp (based in uk) and hes set me up with a psychiatrist in a few weeks for a mental health evaluation I feel like my heads about to explode

Hi im a 35m in uk early diagnoses from gp of possible autism, anxiety and adhd.

through the right to choose scheme through nhs ive gone with problem shared for my actual proper diagnoses, any support to navigate me through it?

and if anyone used them before were they good the reviews say they are nice and understanding, how does the assessment process work?
Hey Im 35m asked my gp for an screening for adhd and auitism i scored 6/6 for adhd and 9/10 for autism.
I had frequent bedwetting and pant wetting problems as a kid i would rather play and think about toilet later until i held so long id burst.
if you give me a subject (mostly pokemon or boats/ships) I can talk your ear off for hours about it even though im shy and reserved about talking in public as I was frequently told nobody cares what you have to say and to shut up by my teachers,
I was always getting into scrapes as a kid i was the daredevil I had no concept of fear id be 1st to volunteer to try out some weird machine that me and my friends built and launch me down a big hill.
i bite my fingers when I get anxious with a bit of a deformed middle finger by years of constant chewing on
if i like a song I will listen to it repeatedly over and over again until I can't stand it, I get easily distracted if im trying to watch a movie.
Impulsive purchases, massive anxiety if I can't afford it or try to fight my impulsivity difficulty waiting turn
Problems listening, getting distracted, fidgety and not being able to listen properly or being confused by a question people have to show me how to do something.
Basically a lot of traits that to me scream adhd autism or both but growing up in the 1990s wasn't really registered as this you were just the behaviourly problematic kid in school, i do struggle with maths i just cannot work with numbers my brain just shuts down and scrambles everything at school i was in special classes with less kids and more teacher supervision.
What you think i am highly likely to be? Have follow up face to face evaluation with my gp soon.
