I’m in the outer northern suburbs of Melbourne. Is there a list of recommended KFCs?

I can remember when most of them were better.

If I replace my plastic food containers with glass ones, should I avoid the ones with plastic lids? This is to cut down on plastic contamination.

I'm in Australia. I've seen containers with bamboo lids, but I don't know how good or bad that is. I use plastic containers for food, ground coffee and tea.

EDIT: I’m talking about microplastics and how they build up in the human body.

I'm out of contract with Optus NBN. I pay about $95 per month for 50Mbps download. Optus has a new plan with a discount for the first 12 months. I'm on Jobseeker payments. What's the worst that could happen if I can't pay my bill one month if I sign up to a new contract?

Just asking as a hypothetical question. I'm over 60, so I can top up my Jobseeker payments with an income stream from my superannuation policy.

EDIT: The new plan is the "Optus Fast nbn" plan and it's $79 per month for the first 12 months, $99 per month after that.

Apart from the Apple Watch Series 11, which smartwatches have the ECG app as well as checking heart rate? Would an Apple Watch Series 10 be with looking at?

I am on a budget.

I'm with an IEA provider. Would they reimburse me for a police check for a job application?

And how do you get a police check? I'm in Melbourne.

Although how do I see if I’ve still got my previous police check or not? I got one in the past and I don’t know how long they last.

I had my double ablation late January 2026. My abdomen still gets sore at the entry point. How long does it normally take for the soreness to go away?

Is there anything I can do to help the soreness disappear completely?

EDIT: My groin, not my abdomen. Sorry.

I’m in Melbourne. When did it become normal to wear pajamas and dressing gowns when going out of the house? Like going to the shops or something.

It’s not like I see it that often. I think I’ve seen it happening up to ten or twenty years or longer.

I'm with an IEA provider. My job plan states I will do volunteer work at a certain organisation, but a person at that organisation turned around and said I can't go there anymore. How does this affect my Jobseeker payments?

My job plan says:

>I agreed to these voluntary tasks and activities:

>participate in work preparation activities with (organisation name) for 4 hours per fortnight. I will commence by (start date) and complete by (end date). "privatly" is undertaking volunteer work as a XXXX for (organisation name). He attends (days attended). This activity will enable him to utilise his skills to build and reatain his skill set to prepare for employment.

I'm chasing up whether or not my not being able to do volunteer work at this organisation (due to a technicality) is true or not. Since my job plan states I will do volunteer work at this organisation, will it affect my jobseeker payments if I can't go to that organisation anymore? Will I just need a new job plan drawn up or doesn't it matter?

iPhone XR. iOS 18.7.9. How do I turn off Siri when the screen is locked?

I lock the screen and put the iPhone in my jean pocket. Sometimes I’ll then hear a “bong, bong, bong. Sorry, I didn’t get that” emanating from my jean pocket.

And I’m not even excited.

I’m in the outer northern suburbs of Melbourne. How much might it cost to repair the leak in the pipe that fills my toilet cistern?

The water pipe is leaking in front of my home. I think it’s the recycled water main.

The front of my single storey townhouse is about one meter from the footpath and it’s on a concrete slab. The leak stops when I turn off the recycled water meter, so it’s not the water company’s problem, I have to pay for the repair.

How much might it cost for a plumber to fix the leak? What’s the most it might cost?

Edited for clarity.

EDIT: It’s fixed now.

I bought a replacement glass lid for a cooking pot. It has a silicone edge, is that good? How long would it last? Are there any disadvantages to it?

Does eczema make you think you’re feeling very small rain drops when they’re not actually coming down?

Like when there’s a cool wind.

What can people do to reduce the risk of getting dementia?

I don't know if it's related, but I saw this online news article about what foods to avoid and to eat to reduce your risk of getting Alzheimer's.

On my Dell Inspiron 15 5000 with Windows 11 Pro, I got a message asking me to download a Dell app to connect my laptop to my iPhone XR with iOS 18.7.9. But the website won't open on my iPhone.

The iPhone app is Dell Mobile Connect 3.3. Website is w.screenvote.com. I scanned the QR code on my iPhone XR but the website won't open. Is there another way I can download the app onto my iPhone?

My DSP claim was denied but I had 13 weeks to appeal it with extra medical evidence, which I uploaded. How long does it take for them to review the extra medical evidence?

I have an iPhone XR with iOS 18.7.9. Is it possible to change the contrast in the Apple Weather map? I just find it hard to see the locations properly with how the clouds are displayed.

I’m in Australia and I prefer the map in the BOM Weather app, ie from the Bureau of Meteorology in Australia. It’s so much easier to understand compared to the map in the Apple Weather app.
