Why hasn't there been a 1:1 live action Barbie movie?

I liked the Barbie movie with Margot Robbie, but why hasn't Mattel ever moved to make a live action adaptation of one their more popular movies?

Edit:

  1. I guess I did overestimate just how popular the Barbie DVDs work... nostalgia blindness

  2. Live action remake fatigue is real and noted

  3. The cgi budget for a lot of these would be incredibly bloated as many have pointed out

  4. ....that being said at least one or two of the og Barbie movies would be feasible for a live action if that ever happened

This is a Muntjac Deer. Usually found in South Asia. It has scent glands under its eyes that sniff and flare open like a hogs nostrils.

Some people I'd cast if I had an unlimited budget

  1. Pink Diamond: Ayo Edebiri (The Bear)—does endearingly awkward and playful very well

  2. Rose Quartz: Wunmi Mosaku (Sinners)—has a soothing voice and tranquil vibes

  3. White Diamond: Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso)—statuesque with a regal voice

  4. Yellow Diamond: Lena Headey (Game of Thrones)—commanding presence

Why would I tip for an online clothing order?

I also don't like how "no tip" is represented as a -1 in some bid to guilt trip me into something.

I remember it being religiously drilled in to us

Wikipedia was not to be trusted. Rather it was meant to guide you and you were supposed to then use the cited sources on Wikipedia as your actual sources. But the tides have shifted so heavily.

In college I had one professor that was so paranoid that people were going to use chatgpt. He forced us to write out all of our essays by hand and in class (essays were stretched out over the course of class periods). Typing out a four-page essay is fine and can be done in the space of like 2 hours with minimal prior research. Writing it by hand is actually crazy and painful.

CMV: Ted Talk riddles are NOT riddles

They're all just math! I could have been forgiving or maybe even understanding if they had just called them puzzles. If I come across mathematics and math based logic in a puzzle that's par for the course. But riddles are literary devices! The second you start adding math in there it's not a riddle it's just a weirdly worded puzzle (highly reminiscent of "word problems" from math class).

A lot of them set themselves up with interesting premises like wizards, assassins, pirates, etc. And the problem that is meant to be solved is something interesting like convincing aliens that humans are intelligent life and thus should not be eaten like cattle. The sticking point is that none of these problems are *solved* like riddles. All of them bring in bullshit mathematics. We're talking about a wizard battle and now we're solving it with probability and percentages! I want groan-worthy puns, I want answers that would make the Sphinx of Greco-Roman mythology bemoan her own stupidity, I want tricky language, I want...a riddle.

I don't appreciate being lied to, tricked by a colorful thumbnail and misuse of the English language.

Edit: Examples:

Rush (2013) is an thrilling period piece

While this is probably a more atypical recommendation, I cannot stop giving this film it's flowers.

It is aggressively 1970s, but in a way that isn't stereotypical.. you're fully immersed into the era. The the costuming is great: for a good half of the movie the leads are color coded according to their personality. On top of that it has beautiful scenery and cinematography. While some creative liberties are taken for the narrative's sake, it's overall pretty faithful to thw facts (was fully backed by the racer that one of the leads portrays and has background/secondary characters from the racing industry). It does that cool thing that I love to see in semi-autographical movies where scenes are interspersed with real life footage. Despite being a movie about racing it is not bogged down by that (the car breakdowns and engineering are actually quite fascinating).

Overall the storytelling, the chemistry between the leads, and the pacing are top-notch.

Edit: admittedly, while there is romance it is not romanced focused if that is something you typically prefer in your period films.

CMV: If all of your content is based on how much you hate men, then you're still male-centered

This is particularly pertaining to influencers and internet personalities:

There's been a recent uptick around the buzzword "male-centered". For the uninitiated: it's content being shared consistently by creators that solely focuses on men. It's more easily clocked when influencers discuss how to get/keep men, how men are better than women, and how they're not like the other girls per se ("a dying breed" if you will).

However, even if your content is all about how men are evil, how to con them out of their money, and how no man is capable of real love...I fear you are still male-centered. Content creators may have changed the terms of the game but the objective is the same. And it's not like people ought to completely change their content and start making crafting and mukbangs videos. it's just very disingenuous to pretend like you're above birdbrain activity just because you're on the opposite end of the spectrum. If all your content is about men then you are male-centered.

Somehow this is controversial.

And yes, I spend ungodly amounts of time in "thinkpiece" spaces. I'm working on it...

Edit: grammar
