Xeneon Edge - SilentOverlay actively being tested... (*update*)

r/SilentOverlay private alpha testing is officially active!

Small first-wave Corsair Xenon Edge tester group is now running the latest build and helping tighten the real-world stuff: install flow, display targeting, touch/mouse controls, media/volume behavior, and general fluidity/stability.

Still early. Still focused on getting the foundation right before opening things up wider and adding features that will take it to next level (custom themes, app launcher, live PC telemetry etc.)

Appreciate everyone who has reached out, joined the group, or offered to test. The feedback so far has already helped shape the next builds. More to come soon!

SilentOverlay beta preview on Xeneon Edge

r/SilentOverlay beta testing has officially started for Xeneon Edge owners.

The first private alpha builds are now out with early testers, focused on install/launch stability, 2560x720 layout behavior, touch/mouse use, and basic real-world testing.

XE owners interested in testing can Email for an invite.

Other screen sizes, non-XE displays, live telemetry, themes, launchers, and deeper customization are still part of the roadmap... but this first wave is mainly about tightening the foundation and fixing obvious bugs before expanding further.

This walkthrough shows the current beta concept: opening the app, moving through the panels, and showing what currently works. The goal is to reduce the little daily frictions across gaming, browsing, media control, WFH, quick launching, and general setup flow ...turning an extra screen into something useful instead of just decorative.

The touch on the XE makes it a unique experience for sure but mouse support/control has been built in from the ground up so this can eventually scale to other displays and setups too as intended.

Started as a personal dashboard project. Now it’s running on other people’s setups. Pretty cool. 😎

SilentOverlay Update: Branding Refresh + Early Alpha Progress

SilentOverlay update:

Early Alpha is now running locally and development is officially moving into the installer/onboarding phase before wider beta rollout.

At the same time, I’ve updated the branding/logo direction for the project. A lot of you originally found me through my personal "Silent.King" setup posts, but SilentOverlay is evolving into its own standalone platform/community focused around customizable ambient dashboards, overlays, and interactive secondary display experiences.

The goal stays the same:

Turn extra screens into something useful, immersive, interactive, and personal.

Current focus is less about flashy new features and more about making sure SilentOverlay actually installs, launches, scales, and behaves properly across different Windows setups, ultrawides, touchscreens, mini displays, and resolutions.

That’s why the first beta rollout is intentionally staying small.

Really appreciate everyone who has already joined the subreddit, FB group, or reached out by Email about beta access. Seeing strangers genuinely interested in something that started as a personal passion project has honestly been super wild.

More updates, UI previews, and beta progress soon.

Quick SilentOverlay update:

First batch of early v1 interest emails just went out.

If you already sent me your email, check your inbox. I’m just collecting some quick setup info right now so I can organize testers properly before anything gets sent out.

If you missed the first batch and want to be added to the next one, you can DM me here or (preferably) email: silentoverlay1@gmail.com

Please include:

  • what screen/display you’d want to run it on
  • touch or non-touch
  • rough screen size/resolution if you know it
  • what you’d mainly want from it: telemetry, media controls, app launcher, weather/news, hidden panels, full command deck, etc.

Still very early. Still very beta. But the interest so far has been awesome, and I’m trying to build this the right way instead of rushing a messy download out.

Appreciate everyone jumping in early.

Coming back to PC gaming after a decade+ away (kids, career, and finally the old pc just couldnt handle it even if wanted too...iykyk). Built myself a new PC end of last year and recently purchased RE9 as a nostalgic throwback...and WOW!

I forgot how immersive games could feel if done right.

Capcom absolutely cooked with this one. Playing it on an 49" OLED ultrawide at night is next level (immersive atmosphere, visuals, storytelling, etc.). Im also running it DLAA with FG 2x with a 5080/9800x3d; so about 75-90 FPS but dont even care about all that...as a 40 something, the game itself is just amazing and didnt realize how much I missed doing this (feels like ima teenager again!)

Safe to say, Ive officially relapsed back and know exactly what I am doing this weekend...happy Friday all!

PNY RTX 5080 Slim Edition (dual fan/SFF) - Review

Link to review: PNY RTX 5080 Slim Edition (dual fan/SFF) - Review

Not gonna lie…this review kinda proves what some of us already knew. PNY lowkey cooked with this card. While some 5080s are the size of a fucking microwave, PNY decided to make a slim clean card that still handles 4K performance. Honestly, one of the few 5080s I’d actually wanna build around aesthetically too. An all black/stealthy SFF build with this guy as the main star...FE vibes but with its own flavor.

Started with a simple idea; how do I stop bouncing between 10 apps/screens all day.
Xeneon Edge has proven and justified its price tag by basically become my little command deck. Weather, media, stocks, PC telemetry, sports, quick controls...all touch accessible while gaming/working and still have option to use as 2nd screen and mouse too!

Well done Corsair!
