I don’t know if he’s serious about me. I’m confused. Different culture and values.

I’m a 26yo woman and I was raised in a more conservative environment and I dated mostly South Asian guys. I’m still a virgin and I don’t have that much dating experience. I’m not religious or anything, it’s just the way I am, I’m more in the shy and quiet side.

I started dating a 37yo from Brazil recently. He’s a good friend of my friend’s husband and we met each other in their wedding. He confessed to my friend’s husband that he liked me and asked him if I was single. In the beginning, he was shy to approach me (probably fear of getting rejected). Few weeks ago, he invited me to his birthday party and got drunk and kissed me.

I want a serious relationship which could lead to marriage. I was seeing someone of my age before but this person was so inconsistent and lied about his intentions so I was hoping that dating a 11 years older man would be better. I’m confused because he’s very different of the men I dated previously. He’s very sweet and asked me what I was looking for in a relationship but there’s some signs that I’d consider he’s not that serious about me:

• He tried to have sex in our first meeting. He invites me to his house expecting sex and doesn’t talk much to me, it’s mostly making out. However, when he invites me to daytime dates, we talk to each other, including past relationships and family.

• He doesn’t text me much. He only messages once a day to ask about my day or to plan another date and sometimes no message for 1 day.

• His texting decreased this week but we started seeing each other in person more. Now we see each other twice a week instead of only once so I don’t know if it’s a bad sign.

• Last time we saw each other, he tried to have sex without protection. Isn’t he afraid of STD’s or pregnancy?

I’m a bit confused and I’d like some advice. I asked my Brazilian friend for advice and she said having sex in the first date is totally normal in Brazilian culture.

I finally moved on and met someone who’s really into me

I’m 26 years old and I’ve been single for almost 2 years. After 5 months of my break up (an abusive relationship) I fell in love with someone else. Unfortunately, it was someone very inconsistent and wasn’t taking me seriously. He would go months without sending a single message, bread-crumbing, flirting and hooking up with other women and not caring about me in general. This situation was making me anxious and affected my self-esteem.

It was difficult to move on because I can’t click with someone that easily and I’m not a fan of dating around. I tried to talk to other men but I couldn’t forget this one guy. I was sad and losing hope that I wasn’t going to find my person.
After 1 year, I finally met someone special through mutual friends. He’s kind and very consistent. We aren’t official yet but it feels like heaven. Finally I’m dating someone seriously, talking almost everyday, having deep conversations and going on dates.

I’m writing this to everyone who’s going through a similar situation of being in love with someone who doesn’t love them back. Someone else is waiting for you. You deserve to be respected and appreciated. I’m feeling so happy that I left that situation and found someone better. This new guy really wants to get to know me, takes things slowly, respects me and wants to spend time with me.

Sudden loss of interest in talking. 39M and 25F (me)

I was talking to someone for 10-12 days in a row for many hours, we had really good conversations and connected to each other so well because we had so many common interests and goals. I was enjoying a lot until he had to take a trip. While he was there, I could understand he was busy and couldn’t chat and he apologised for the inconsistency.

After he came back, he would only send me 1 or 2 messages a day for a whole week. He would barely come online. I decided to walk away and I didn’t reply his last message for 2 days. I noticed when I stopped replying, he started coming online often like before. He never reached out to me again. He watches my social media stories and that’s it. He never asked if I was doing well or anything. I decided that I won’t speak to him anymore.

Was he avoiding me? How come he was so interested and saying he never felt a connection like this and loved every minute with me to act so indifferent after? He even wanted to plan a trip with me and promised he would be consistent with me. I just can’t understand what happened. Should I remove him from my socials since probably we will never text again after intense and long talks?

If he just wants me for sex, why he doesn’t let me go? I feel confused

I met this boy last year and we had a lot of misunderstandings because I heard from others he didn’t have genuine feelings for me and just wanted sex from me.

I feel confused because he has more options but he tried for almost an year to reconnect with me, always reacts to my posts, cooks for me, gives me kisses, small gifts, cuddles with me and wants to travel 7 hours to see me even though I rejected his sexual advances many times and he knows I’m a virgin.

He always makes time for me even if he barely sleeps just to spend time with me. He says he thinks I’d be a good wife but he can’t make me promises because he’s moving to another country. Last time we met, he came to the station to tell me goodbye and kissed my forehead. I’m okay if he doesn’t want anything serious but is all this fake? Sometimes I feel he has some feelings for me (not enough to commit to me but they still exist) and other part of me tells me he just wants access to my body but he seems so consistent compared to other f#ckboys and he’s a good looking guy.

How this person sees me?

The Star: He admires me?

Tower: Maybe his perspective about me changed or I challenge him. We’re the opposite of each other.

Ace of Cups: He feels affection towards me maybe.

u/throwaways383 — 3 months ago

What are his feelings about me?

Six of Cups: He feels warmth and nostalgia? This is someone I met one year ago but we had misunderstandings between us but we reunited again after many months of silence.

Emperor: I’m a virgin and waiting for marriage. He has casual sex. He probably sees me as a self-controlling person because I control my desires.

Magician: He wants to invest in our connection I think.

I (25F) like someone but he (26M) just wants sex. I can’t stop liking him, I’m feeling overwhelmed

I like a guy for 1 year. I met him on my vacations last year. I spent the most romantic moments of my life with him such as kissing at the beach under the moonlight, cuddling the whole night, he made me breakfast and gave me a teddy bear. It was a magical vacation romance. It felt so intense but we never had sex because I’m saving myself and he knows that I’m a virgin.

He doesn’t want anything serious because he will leave the country, hooks up with many girls (I didn’t know this when we met) and he wants to marry with a girl from his culture (he’s South Asian). It hurts me. I tried to forget him with cutting contact and trying to date other people but I can’t stop thinking about him. It’s been one year and I think about him everyday.

We had some misunderstandings between us because of some mutual friends but he always watched my social media and reacted to my posts, likespamming my pictures etc even though we were in no contact but since February we started talking again and he wants to see me. He’s always asking when I come back to town, my heart feels very happy but at the same time I feel overwhelmed and disappointed because I know he will never fall in love with me and we might stop talking again.

How can I control my feelings? I don’t understand why I can’t stop feeling so attached to him. I broke up with my ex boyfriend in December and I moved on within 3 months but I can’t move on from a vacation romance.

Why is this guy making rumours about me?

I’m talking to someone since 6 months ago and we’re close friends. We chat daily and he likes me a bit romantically but we still never met each other in person. I’m not sure if I will feel the same way about him, I will know when we see each other in person in 2 weeks.

However, in the past, him and his friends sent me friend requests on Snapchat and I accepted because I was bored and it didn’t mean anything to me. I just wanted to do streaks. This boy I talk to told me someone told him I sent friend requests to every guy so I blocked everyone, except my friend because I didn’t want to give them a wrong impression. I know it was a mistake but I didn’t have any intentions of flirting or talking to these guys. I got closer to this one because he insisted on talking and he seems a good guy.

Now he talked about me to one of his friends and his friend is lying that I invited him and some other dude to meet me in Sweden which is totally fake. They saw my posts from Sweden and that’s it, I never invited anyone. I don’t even know who are these guys and never had interest in meeting them but they like to make rumours about me to make me look like a player.

Why is this happening? I’m a shy person and I’m feeling very uncomfortable with this situation. Unfortunately I can’t undo the fact that I accepted their friend requests but it looks like they interpreted it as a sign of romantic or sexual interest even if I never expressed it and I never sent them snaps of my face or body since I’m very shy. My snaps were only flowers, books and pictures of my laptop while working. A friend of him invited me for coffee but I refused it. I never engaged in conversations. Also the fact they’re making fake stories about me is making me upset. Why they are doing this? I didn’t do anything wrong to these people. I’m afraid my friend will not trust me anymore because they keep saying lies about me.

There’s this guy I met last year with whom I lived the most romantic moments of my life, at least I thought so. However, I know he’s not the right guy for me because he doesn’t want anything serious and we’re very different people.
I’m a virgin, I live with my mom, I’m shy, introverted and modest, I only date for marriage and he’s easy going, has casual sex frequently and works in a bar so he talks to many different women daily.

He still wants to meet me but I notice that he lies a lot about his lifestyle. He told me “I’m not the kind of guy who opens his penis to everyone” but I know he’s kinda desperate for sex because he chased a girl who sucked his friend’s penis in a bathroom bar and he follows different girls every night on social media with hopes of getting laid. I don’t think worse of him because of this, it’s his life and he does whatever he wants. It just feels weird that he pretends to be someone else in front of me, he pretends he’s a “good boy” and wants a serious relationship when reality is very different.

Why he doesn’t tell me the truth? I’m not his girlfriend so I don’t have the right to complain or stop him of seeing other women.

I’m a 25F and he’s 31M. We got introduced by a mutual friend. We still didn’t meet in person and we’re chatting on WhatsApp for 1 month but we live in different countries. He’s planning to come to my country so we can meet.

I find him interesting but I’m worried I’m bothering him because he’s taking more than 1 day to reply. However, our conversations have many and big blocks of text because we talk about many subjects at same time so maybe he’s busy with work and can’t reply to all that.

What do you think?

I got a master’s degree in Marketing Management in 2024. I did a internship and some freelance work for 2 companies. Besides of that, I worked with telemarketing and customer support because I couldn’t find a job in the marketing field.

My area doesn’t have a lot of marketing jobs and I’m struggling to gain experience. It’s difficult to do freelance because businesses want people with experience, the jobs I apply to want experience too and the internship offers are too low or unpaid.

How I can start? I feel so confused and unmotivated. I want to learn but how I can learn if no one gives me a chance? Should I pursue a digital marketing course? What should I do?

Last year, I met this boy with whom I lived the most magical and romantic moments of my life. We didn’t have sex but we made out and cuddled a lot. He cooked for me and gave me a teddy bear. I felt really good with him. He’s funny, charismatic, ambitious, soft spoken and has a beautiful smile. When I told him I was a virgin, he didn’t pressure me for sex, he kissed my forehead and hugged me gently, this made me grow a lot of respect and love in my heart for him.

However, he broke my heart. After a while, he started distancing himself. He told my friend he wasn’t looking for anything serious because he was leaving the country soon. He suggested my friend to date me because according to him I’m a good girl for a serious relationship and my friend’s girlfriend (now ex) sucked his coworker’s d*ck and suggested him to do the same as him, have sex with her and leave because according to him that girl is a cheater.

He started chasing this girl because he saw her as an easy opportunity to have sex and share her with his friends. I was so heartbroken and disgusted to see this. He was giving a lot of attention to a girl who doesn’t even care about him. When he got to know I knew everything, he tried to make misunderstandings between me and my friend and lying that girl and his coworker were in love with each other, saying he was just trying to help which is bullshit. He’s trying to play the good boy with me, when in reality he’s chasing cheaters and “easy” girls to sleep with him.

Now he’s trying to make excuses to get closer to me again but I can’t trust him. But I like him too. I can’t stop thinking about him and the moments we had together. I just wish he liked me back. It’s been a year and I can’t forget him. I feel so sad. Why this had to happen to me? I tried to cut contact and everything, we stayed 4 months without speaking to each other but my heart still craves for this person.

He invited me to meet him but I know he will just want to kiss me and leave me again because he just wants sex and nothing else. However, I tried to talk to another boys but no one feels like him. I can’t open my heart to anyone else or even imagine myself kissing another boy besides of him. I only like him. I don’t know what to do.

I’m a 25 years old lady and I feel I’m not pretty enough for a man to like me enough to have a serious relationship with me.

My abusive ex used to say he could find a better looking girl but he was more into personality than looks, that he didn’t like me at first, my boobs are too small and my hips too big.

It happened twice that I liked a guy but they would treat me like I’m replaceable after love bombing me and just tried to use me for sex. It means all the compliments they gave me saying I’m beautiful and they wanted to marry me were fake.

Nowadays I’m talking to a guy, I bought a new dress and asked him if it would look better with straight or wavy hair. He replied “your face only looks good with straight hair because you have a big forehead” (my natural hair is wavy) and said after “you should keep your blonde” (my hair is naturally black and my skin is brown). These comments made me feel insecure and unattractive.
