scared to start - is social media promo the way to go?

hello everyone, I've been so scared to get my own services of city-walking tours going so I come here for advice.

I have the experience, as I worked with the platform Gyde and seek for many years until they closed. I applied to similar platforms that offer this "catalog of tour guides" to book for private customized experiences like Bylocals and Withlocals but apparently they don't need any new guides in Mexico City (there was 0 reply from them).

I launched my own company instagram and tiktok last year and i uploaded some reels as initial promo but then i had to get foot surgery so everything kinda stopped.

I want to start offering some ideas now, my main reference is other local guides who promote via instagram or facebook and they basically just post the date with the tour info of what will be seen during the walk and receive reservations via DM, they seem to be doing good, but this strategy is aimed at a local audience.

What do you think is a good strategy for promo? I don't want to just "steal" these other companies way of simply posting a tour and a carrousel of images for additional engagement, but I also don't know if investing my time doing reels is a good idea or I should just be focusing my attention elsewhere.

Also, if you have any tips on how to reach a more "international tourism" audience it would be appreciated. So far I've only thought of getting some google maps reviews from a few clients that I have a contact, but that would only redirect them to the instagram since i don't have a website yet.

Thanks for reading, any input will be greatly appreciated

If You Were There - appreciation

I'm so obsessed with this song, specifically with that high "aha" he does before the chorus omg that's truly the voice of an angel who came to bless this world

People who dislike the Love Sensation (Afterhours Mix) it's coz they haven't listened to the track in loud speakers

coz like for real, this one's for the clubs, to vibrate with it and feel that anticipation when the beat is building up until it explodes into that chorus. I really need to listen to it in a rave setting!!!

some sites are not working on Wi-Fi connection. could this mean a breach in security of the network?

this is not the first time it has happened, specifically with reddit and Twitter on Wi-Fi connection where it just won't load. it's happening on Mac desktop and on android apps, I have re started the modem and the problem remains.

Could this be some sort of vulnerability of the modem or the network being messed with somehow?? thanks for reading

I waited a month for this package, it arrived just in time for George's birthday 😊

I finally found a good Amazon deal for this boxset. interestingly it wasn't sent through the normal amazon service but through the royal mail which then was handed to the mexican post service and I had to go the offices to pick it up 😅

it's bigger than I expected and so beautiful! 😍

World Cup update: the Mexico City police is blocking right now the protest of the Families of Disappeared People that tries to reach the Azteca Stadium. The Mexican government does this to protect the capitalist FIFA "Last Mile" protocol.

The Mexican government is stopping buses with protesters arriving at Mexico City right now

For context: a large group of teachers have been protesting for two weeks now in the Mexican capital demanding that the President reverts the 2007 Pension Law that affects them (she promised to do so during her campaign).

Using the phrase "if there's no solution, the ball won't roll" they have set up a camp in the Historic Center around the Zócalo where a huge screen and display has been extended as part of the "FIFA Fan Fest" activities. The government blocked all access to the main square with movable metal walls and now they're blocking the entry to the city of more teachers riding these buses. Both actions are a direct violation of the Mexican Constitution Article 11 (free transit in the national territory)
