Pretty sure daycare called CPS on me, asked to have a meeting with daycare.
To keep the story as short as possible I was accused with and I quote “burning my daughter with a candle on her feet”. They also noticed bruising on her back. My 3 year old has blisters on her feet from her shoes and she’s very insistent on wearing crocs instead of shoes. (I try to pick my battles anyways)
I’m going to a doctor to get it confirmed today they are in fact blisters. I showed the CPS lady the monkey bars she plays on which could have caused it but honest to god it could have been anything. The CPS lady was very kind and understanding so I’m less concerned about that and what I’m more concerned about is…
We go to a pretty nice daycare, I am receiving assistance to go there. Single mom, somewhat poor. (Fridge is well stocked and we get by so that’s a non issue) we walk to daycare every day because I do not have a car and definitely feels like I’ve received judgement.
At my daughter’s old daycare she had fun, was excited to go and is overall a very spunky, happy, talkative kid. After three days of going to daycare she suddenly became scared to go, like does not at all want to be there. Tells me that on her walk over. It just sucks. The staff is less than helpful when I walk in, it usually takes 10 minutes before a staff actually comes to help us.
I was told my daughter would probably need speech therapy by a person facilitating. Yet every single person I know says her speech is advanced. This is something I will also bring to the doctors attention today when I have to explain this whole embarrassing situation. When I said I didn’t think she needed that and the doctors nor my healthy family worker has ever said anything about this, she looked appalled. & very much insisted she babbles. This girl tells full on stories to me, it was just ridiculous.
I have Healthy Families of America come in, she’s been my worker since my girl was a baby. Very close wonderful relationship. She comes in once a week to check on us and has always complimented my parenting. I’m doing volunteer work with them literally tomorrow…this is just so sad. Every interaction I’ve had with people is usually positive and great except at this daycare.
I won’t even get into the mechanics of how ridiculous it sounds that I burnt my daughter with a candle. My cousins came over after CPS left to help me feel better and offered to drive me to our appointment I’m just sick to my stomach. I am a single mom doing this all alone and most of my family was actually very abusive growing up so as you can imagine it’s been very emotional doing everything I can to be a good mother and running into a case like this. Read every book, we do gentle parenting, I’ve never even spanked my daughter let alone do something so barbaric
At this point I’m just rambling and upset but what would you say to the daycare if this happened to you? I can’t just pull her out and put her into a new one because it really is the only place I can walk to. This is just so hard to navigate. I’m a mixture of angry and just flat out scared even though I know I’ve done nothing wrong it’s still unsettling.
5 months I quit vaping, relapsed two weeks ago and need to quit again for health. (Help)
Well the title pretty much states it all. I went five months no vape and used the nicotine losangws to help me out. Had I not had that I’m not sure I would have been as successful as I was. (In the past I couldn’t even make it a few days let alone five months)
Well a girl was vaping in front of me in the car and I asked to hit her vape during a very stressful week and started right back up where I left off.
Nicotine makes me lethargic, depressed, sick, my lungs actually hurt right now and I know I have to quit again. I’ve tried throwing out vapes in the past two weeks only to buy another one the next day. I’ve wasted a lot of money already doing that.
I’m not sure what the heck is happening with me but part of me wishes I didn’t have to quit even though it’s doing me absolutely no good. I was so motivated to quit last time but now it’s coming down to I have to if I’m gonna be able to function. My anxiety is through the roof on this crap and it clearly is having severe psychological consequences as well.
Help, advice, words of comfort would be appreciated. I’m gonna quit today, just scared and sad I suppose.
What asanas make you feel the most graceful or feel like your floating?
In honor of my journey of learning to float up the mat and working on balance both within my practice and within my life in general what poses resonate with you that make you feel weightless, suspended, or make you feel like your coasting on a lovely wave?
Accidentally being perceived as arrogant? *cries*
So long story short I had a really god awful traumatic year last year. I’m a very hyperactive and social kind of person typically, but lately I feel like idk my interactions are slightly “off”.
Well I got a yoga teacher training scholarship and it’s something I’ve been very passionate about for a long time. Single mom, life of constant struggle, left a bad situation, and I have a lot riding on this to eventually have this become a career so I really put my all into it. (Which I almost never did for anything besides parenting honestly)
Idk I’m more advanced than most of my class and even being in a more “advanced position” I still have so much to learn and I ask my teachers way a ton of questions out of genuine curiosity, she’s shown me how to do some extremely difficult poses, and I try to empower others in the class and give advice then they struggle during our partner sessions that we have during class to be helpful…but it just seems like it’s being taken the wrong way. I’ve had people make some very snarky comments, these are grown ass people but I’ve experienced kind of what feels like bullying which is weird asf at this age and in a space like this.
Like I’m actually really upset by it because I came here to learn, to grow, to do inner work, and I’m also clearly like…idk less wealthy, less access to time as a single mom, like just living a way different life than most of the people in there so the fact that I’m being judged so harshly is really offensive I guess? I don’t even know if this is the best place to post this. I do have one friend who I think is gonna be a lifelong person in my life which is a plus but I just feel really discouraged by the rest of it. I’m not gonna quit cuz it’s a free scholarship, the teacher is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and it is a once in a lifetime opportunity I’m just sick of..the bullshit I guess. Upset really.
5 months vape free. Now about quitting those dang losange’s!
Hey yall. I never thought I would get to the point where I could say this but it has officially been 5 months since I quit vaping. I had tried countless times before and because of the losanges I have been successful.
It was pretty quick that I lowered down to the lowest dose (2mg) but actually quitting the losanges just….oof. I did have a lapse somewhere in between this where I hit my friends vape..2 months ago maybe? I had ran out of the losanges and the vape was so gross, I took a few hits and was like “nope I’m done” no guilt or shame attached to it, just let it go.
So I guess where I am struggling, is the fact that quitting eventually lead to a lapse for me and I wanted to see how other people managed to eventually get off NRT and if it also induced a lot of cravings for them. The idea itself of getting off of them sort of gives me anxiety but they are so dang expensive to keep buying. Tips, experience, advice, all welcome. I’m in yoga teacher training right now and don’t exactly want to eventually be teaching to students while still carrying such an addiction. Kind of gives me imposter syndrome in a way.
Small yet effective way to stick it to the man, please read and share with others
Hey guys! So prices are going up in the US and sure we can blame politics but really at the end of the day it’s the companies themselves raising the prices and hurting our pockets. So how do we protest EFFECTIVELY? Leave bad reviews.
LEAVE BAD REVIEWS.
Businesses care about what is being said about them and their ratings so we hit them where it hurts. We encourage friends to do it. It doesn’t take us off our job that we need to survive, but it shows we are PISSED and we think it’s unfair. It shows disorder in a level that allows us to fight back in a subtle yet effective way if enough people do it.
Spread the word, get creative, let’s start doing some things to shake this world up. Thank you yall. Please spread awareness and if there’s a better subreddit to post this in please let me know. Let’s get the word out there and do it.
Edit: WE ARE ONLY TALKING ABOUT LARGE CORPORATE BUSINESSES PLEASE CONTINUE TO SUPPORT AND SHOP LOCAL
Edit #2: we are leaving reviews complaining about pricing not representing value and unfair pricing in general. In no way is this fraudulent behavior. It’s a real concern and we are doing this to show we are frustrated with the state of things and to push back. NOT just being vigilantes without a cause. Corporations and politics go hand in hand.
YTT overwhelm
Hi yall! I’m taking a 200 hour course and oh my god am I overwhelmed. Some days I am just so emotional, and I just want to quit, but I do, but I don’t, but I do…ugh.
I am processing so many feelings and I am very blessed to one be on a scholarship, two have a phenomenal teacher, and three be given networking opportunities.
We have training for 20 hours biweekly, have to get in 20 hours of yoga classes outside of class that are provided for free at the studio we are partnered with, and a 10 hour karma project. When I tell you this teacher is no joke and really pushes us to the core I mean it. In a good way though.
I have CPTSD, single mom, and last year my life had FELL apart. Like hard. Like almost homeless hard. We are safe, doing okayish financially, I’m getting my kiddo set up for daycare, things are coming together and now I am the one falling apart. I find myself crying, feeling fear, feeling all sorts of things. I thought I already had felt through all of this but I guess not because here I am feeling it again. I don’t want to quit but some days holy fuck I’m just like how am I gonna do all of this?
I also don’t have a car, people drive me, my bestie babysits on weekends, everyone is coming together to help me, to support me, telling me I’m amazing at this and yet I feel..like a blobbity blob of all the feels and most of them aren’t great.
Anyone else? How did you get through it?
