Weedwhacker trimmer line is the best for clearing out sunroof drains

It’s cheap, It’s easy, your friend probably has some. You can keep it with you and just snake these drains regularly.

I find that the ones that have shape like star pattern or triangle or whatever seem to work better than the round stuff

You can stick it in there and kind of spin it around clear all the crap out and flush all that stuff

Why the Odyssey is so divisive…

I think it’s divisive because there’s a huge media push to make this film popular…

it’s not 100% living up to it for everyone.

Like I mean, there’s a ton of press that they’re doing right now you can’t use social media or even watch the TV without seeing ads with Zendaya or someone, doing like a little panel discussion… About their time in the movie or something like that.

So the movie has a lot of hype behind it.

And so then people are going in, and it’s not exactly meeting their expectations. Whatever those expectations might be.

And I think a lot of people are disappointed

Also, I didn’t see a $700 million movie here

To me, this was like a $400 million movie

Godzilla minus one I think their budget was like 10-15 million

If this would’ve come out as like a maid for TV miniseries. Then maybe yeah actually it would be pretty decent.

But for this overhyped epic, it’s just not

It’s mid

Like way mid

It was like avatar the way of water

Another mid

But the marketing machine is really pushing it so there’s that juxtaposition between people seeing it and not living up to the hype and then the hype train, pushing pushing pushing.

Also, the casting is all wonky

Elliot Page which you see for like 10 minutes, should’ve had a larger role. I would say he should’ve swapped roles with Tom Holland. FR Tom Holland literally just shows up here like he wandered off the set of Spider-Man and ended up here.

It was like it was missing something

It was like a banana split but no chocolate sauce, no whipped cream, no cherry, just vanilla ice cream and banana.

I think Christopher Nolan should start to use a little bit more CGI

I think like Miyazaki when he did, Princess Mononoke.

There’s a lot of CGI elements in that movie, but you can’t tell because it’s blended so well it’s used so tastefully

I mean, cool yeah he spent all that money doing a giant puppet for the Colossus

But like OK did it make the film better?

Not really

Overall, it’s a mid movie that everyone is screaming at the top of their lungs that it’s this masterpiece

I was excited for this film too. I bought a ticket the first day and I saw it. Was completely disappointed.

So for a lot of people, this was a nothing burger

It insists upon itself

(more thoughts on Christopher Nolan‘s the Odyssey)

No, it was more than just the lack of color. I kind of felt almost like I was watching Christopher Nolan’s megalopolis…. Like the cast was a good cast, but somehow disharmonious. It insists upon itself.

And visually yeah it’s there’s a lot going on and the cinematography is not bad but I’m just not able to get into it and it’s like OK and OK Matt Damon is here…. And I’ve seen Matt Damon kind of transcend in some movies like in the Martian. I think he’s brilliant and you really get pulled into it. Here I just couldn’t get into it.

And also the noise I think the noise also had an effect on me, the volume I mean. And it was right off the bat too…
that dude gets impaled right at the beginning and I literally thought to myself fuck that that’s loud.

Also, the dialogue is delivered…. I know it’s a little bit modern, but for some reason that kind of took some of the immersion away from it, for me.
I kind of felt like I was watching a bunch of people from do a very high-quality production of the Odyssey.

It has a little bit of a feel of a theatrical production that was filmed.. kind of like old Hollywood like Cleopatra with Elizabeth Taylor that kind of thing like do you know what I mean? Like you always know that that’s Elizabeth Taylor and you can’t get into the story as much because you’re always going oh Elizabeth Taylor is Cleopatra.

Also, I felt like this movie was missing. It’s “Gandalf”

You know like a strong, classical theatrical actor it, to kind of bring in the right tone.

Like to put it this way I feel like we just saw that first David Lynch version of Dune..

Like a really difficult to translate source material like the Odyssey is very similar in difficulty to adapt as Dune.

I think someone will eventually get the Odyssey, right,

but this was not it.

I would say it’s his worst movie so far.

I chalk it up to the IMAX thing. I know that having that system of mirrors and blimps and the big camera. The focus became about the big camera.

I think the fact that this was shot on IMAX might’ve actually damaged it

99.9% of us are not gonna be seeing this on IMAX it’s too far away. We’re having to see this movie in regular theaters. I still think the volume is too high regardless of format.

But having that giant blimp on a camera taking away, I know it’s quieter but ticking away… You can’t give your best performance with that with that gigantic thing sitting there I think if this would’ve been shot on a smaller camera with less focus on the size of this production, which working with IMAX every two minutes you’re changing these gigantic super heavy rolls so you’re stopping and you’re starting and you’re this you’re that if this would’ve been shot more running gun I think a different movie would’ve come out of it and a better movie would’ve come.

I found the Odyssey to be boring… no spoilers review.

I just watched The Odyssey

Obviously, I love some of Christopher Nolan‘s other work… inception, interstellar, even tenet wasn’t too bad

But something that I have felt watching his movies since Oppenheimer, is like, I’m bored

I’m not sure if it’s a desaturated color palette, Oppenheimer felt like dehydrated brown, and this felt color under utilized as well.

I just found myself bored

And 100% with that other guy said about the film being too loud, somebody on here gave a review, and they said that it was loud and it IS… other people in the theater were mentioning it too.

Some of the dialogue feels kind of painful

It felt like beating a dead horse….

Boring, loud and found myself asking “am I enjoying this?“

The answer was no

For me at least.

I’m sure I’ll enjoy a movie from him in the future

But for now, this is a flopparino.

On this latest wave of creature attacks….

As you may have noticed, we’ve had an influx of creatures coming through the oblivion gate.

To all the mods: let’s swing that ban hammer.

I’ve had to ban a number of people…

And the amount of them that get upset for being banned is remarkable.

They don’t like Invicta, they come here to shit talk, they get banned, and then they get upset that they’re not allowed to talk shit.

The amount of goofy Gus replies these people give is insane…

It ranges from them, trying to convince me that they actually do like Invicta… even though when you look at their profile and comments, all they do is talk shit about Invicta in other subs… to… then blabbering about how I’m like infringing on their free speech or something…

I think people don’t understand that Reddit is thousands of tiny little private clubs.

You can’t go into the local country club, take a dump on the floor and then expect them not to kick you out.

UC will CU out.
