During an MCAS flare, do the usual MCAS triggers (heat, stress, touch, smells, etc.) also start acting like histamine intolerance triggers? In other words, does a mast cell activation episode temporarily lower your histamine threshold so that even non-histamine triggers cause symptoms? I’m trying to understand the overlap

I have gastritis and esophagitis. After eating , especially trigger foods (spicy, processed, heavy meals), I get severe deep muscle/body pain, tingling, and a burning sensation all over. It feels like a whole-body attack. I also get fatigue, internal tremor, and sometimes a feeling of heat.

All my basic tests are normal

Tests I've done (all normal except where noted):

· Blood sugar, blood pressure – normal

· CBC, CRP – normal

· Thyroid, liver enzymes – normal

· Neck MRI – straightening only (no compression)

· EEG, Echocardiogram, EMG – normal

· Dynamic neck X-rays – normal

Has anyone experienced this? Is it connected to stomach/esophagus issues?

Any insights or similar experiences would be appreciated.

I experience these episodes every now and then. My symptoms begin with a severe sense of detachment from reality (I already suffer from derealization), followed by tension in my neck—aggravated by the fact that I have already lost the natural curvature of the neck. Then, my entire body goes numb, and I feel intense throbbing in my neck, followed by a dry mouth. The episodes last about half a minute, but their aftereffects—such as fatigue and exhaustion—can linger until the following day.

I have a straight neck (loss of lordosis) and severe SCM muscle tightness. No trauma, no EDS.

My symptoms:

· Dizziness and feeling off-balance when walking/standing

· Heart palpitations and neck pulsations

· Brain fog and derealization

· Head pressure and severe neck tension
