does this sound like panic attack?

I experience these episodes every now and then. My symptoms begin with a severe sense of detachment from reality (I already suffer from derealization), followed by tension in my neck—aggravated by the fact that I have already lost the natural curvature of the neck. Then, my entire body goes numb, and I feel intense throbbing in my neck, followed by a dry mouth. The episodes last about half a minute, but their aftereffects—such as fatigue and exhaustion—can linger until the following day.

Sternocleidomastoid syndrome ?

I have a straight neck (loss of lordosis) and severe SCM muscle tightness. No trauma, no EDS.

My symptoms:

· Dizziness and feeling off-balance when walking/standing

· Heart palpitations and neck pulsations

· Brain fog and derealization

· Head pressure and severe neck tension

hard to turn my head both ways

Can SCM syndrome alone cause symptoms that mimic CCI? Or could CCI still be possible even without trauma or EDS?

A terrifying sound

I was standing near the house when, without warning, I lost hearing in my left ear. It was followed by a sound resembling a tornado or strong wind—lasting about a second—before vanishing. Afterward, I felt palpitations and fear. What could be the cause?

Inner restlessness

I experience brain fog and derealization. When I speak with anyone—especially during an argument—I feel an internal restlessness that makes me want to end the conversation and leave the place. Has anyone else gone through this and discovered the cause?

Question for the Bartonella community: How did you finally get your diagnosis, and how difficult was the journey? 🦠

So many patients get stuck in the "negative IgG" trap. Because Bartonella is a stealth bacteria that hides inside your cells, standard IgG antibody tests frequently come back normal—leaving people undiagnosed and suffering for years.

I’d love to hear about your diagnostic journey in the comments:

Did you struggle to get a proper diagnosis?

Did a "negative" IgG test delay your treatment?

How did you finally get your answer (specialty labs, clinical diagnosis, etc.)?

False bartonella result ?

I feel frustrated today; I was hoping for a positive result so I could understand the cause of the symptoms I’ve had for two years. Is it possible for the result to be misleading?

2 years of mystery illness

:

I am a 25-year-old male. My height is 177 cm, weight 95 kg. I am a former smoker (quit one year ago). Two years ago, I was a university student living on campus. One day before graduation, while I was putting the finishing touches on my thesis, I suddenly felt something like choking starting from my throat and neck, which then quickly spread to my entire body, accompanied by severe restlessness and complete numbness.

Since then, I have been experiencing recurrent attacks. They usually start with a tremor or shaking, followed by profuse sweating, dizziness, headache, head pressure, and a feeling that I am about to lose control or consciousness, and sometimes a sensation that something is about to explode inside me. After each attack, I suffer from extreme fatigue that can last for several days. During this fatigue period, I experience general hypersensitivity, occasional difficulty walking, excessive sweating and intolerance to exertion, brain zaps, as well as derealization, depersonalization, and complete body numbness. Symptoms worsen notably in crowded places like supermarkets or when talking to people. The condition has become semi-chronic; even just walking outside can trigger this state.

I have a past medical history of gastritis only. Imaging also showed straightening of the neck (loss of normal curvature) and mild thoracic scoliosis. I also sometimes feel a pulse or throbbing in my neck or throat, which has been present for years.

All tests I have done so far are normal:

· Blood sugar and blood pressure

· Neck MRI (only showed straightening, no tumor or stenosis)

· Thyroid function tests

· Liver enzymes

· Complete blood count (CBC) and CRP

· Electroencephalogram (EEG)

· Echocardiogram

· Electromyography (EMG)

I am still waiting for a brain MRI.

During these two years, there were periods where I was able to run and lift weights."

After the first attack, I lost weight and had a significant loss of appetite

So far, two neurologists and two brain doctors have said it is just anxiety, panic attacks, or a psychological issue.

What could this be ?

Could this be BARTONELLA?

It all started two years ago when I was a university student (resident). Just one day before graduation, while I was putting the finishing touches on my thesis, I suddenly felt as if something was choking me. The sensation quickly spread throughout my body, causing intense restlessness and complete numbness.

Since that moment, I have been experiencing these episodes in the form of recurrent attacks. They usually begin with a trembling or shaking sensation, followed by profuse sweating, dizziness, and a feeling that I am about to lose control or consciousness.

After each attack, I suffer from extreme fatigue that can last for several days. During this period, I also experience symptoms related to nervous system dysfunction, including heightened sensitivity, occasional difficulty walking, and sweating too much intolerance to exertion, and other symptoms such as brain zaps, derealization, dissociation, and a sense of full-body numbness. It's get worse in grocery stores or talking to people

During the episode it's getting intense I feel like something is going to explode inside me

Medical notes: So far, I have undergone several tests, including:

Blood sugar test

Blood pressure measurement

Neck MRI (showing cervical alignment)

Thyroid function tests

CBC and CRP tests

Electroencephalogram (EEG)

Echocardiogram (heart test,)

EMG test

Two neurologists and two brain doctors : think it's just anxiety or panic or psychological issue

I am currently awaiting a brain MRI.

Findings so far include:

Neck curvature

Gastritis

Mild thoracic scoliosis

The video shows one of my symptoms.

BEFORE THIS CONDITION I WAS PLAYING WITH STRAY CATS IN UNIVERSITY DORM AND THEY SCRATCH ME SOMETIMES

AND I HAVE SOME SKIN MARKS THEY ARE PURPLE IN MY BOTH SIDES AND IN MY SHOULDERS

COULD THIS BE BARTONELLA??
