First tokay gecko!

Picked this little one up from an awesome clean store in Iowa. The owner said it’s been 5-8 months old, eating crickets every other to every 3 days. It was black and angry but after about 2 hours it’s back to being blue. What’s everyone’s thoughts on it? Pictures were taken thru the screen on the Tupperware tub lid I have it in, sorry if they’re crappy lol 🤷🏻‍♂️

Got my first crested gecko

I own 7 snakes, 4 tarantulas and a bearded dragon lol for some reason I decided to skip over the easiest reptile to keep as a pet. But I got this lively guy/girl today. Isn’t very old at all. The colors look pretty too

Picked up this girl today

I took in my second boa today from a family who was surrendering her. She is an Aztec Jungle. They were unsure on her age. She weighs 1,143g and looks like a healthy snake.

She’s getting a vet visit ASAP because when she’s trying to reach out towards something she has these muscle spasms and seems like she loses her balance then slowly falls to the side. If something touches her(like my arm when trying to reach for her around my neck lol) she’s incredibly twitchy. Her head also seems to slightly lean to her left. So she’s going to see the vet and figure out what’s causing that.

But other than that she’s beautiful and she’s super friendly/tame. Does not mind being handled. She’s got one hell of an iron grip as you can see in the third picture she’s letting my fingers know what’s up 😂 I think I’ll call her Twitch

Can’t get my laser to connect

Reno45 laser

Today is the first day I’m setting up my laser.. or trying to. I can’t get LightBurn to find my laser. I have it plugged into the USB port, it’s powered on, LightBurn is opened. I’ve followed the instruction book all the way to the point of finding my laser but it simply won’t find it??

Edit: I’ve dug around and from my understanding, the standard Reno45 isn’t compatible with LightBurn or LaserGRBL?? Why tf would Monport send a flash drive with those two software downloads for a laser that isn’t compatible?

Went river walking yesterday

My wife and I love walking the river to look at wildlife. I personally like trying to catch the snakes we see lol I wrangled this Northern Watersnake in Muncie, Indiana and it was totally cool being handled. The hook I used is a Shackelford Exotics 33” Pro Hook. That’s me- I’m Shackelford Exotics, I make the hooks.

Got me my first dragon 🐉

I picked him up today from an exotic expo. I talked to the breeder for a pretty long time picking his brain about everything to gauge his knowledge. Dude knew his stuff and wasn’t just trying to unload a bunch of animals.

This guy is around 2 years old. He’s a citrus 🍊 He’s been handled a lot because he is very docile and friendly. He’s going to be awesome!

I’m getting fed so life ain’t so bad

I love bringing this little dude out to play and get some sun. Since I’ve had him he’s had two meals. One this past Wednesday and one last week on Wednesday. He’s eaten both with zero issues. They were adult mice. Could I move up to some type of small rat you think? I’d like to possibly bring in more nutrients for him to keep him growing.

He’s active, he’s inquisitive, he isn’t head shy, all he wants to do is either slither around slowly in the grass or think my hand is a tree and look around lol he’s doing very well. Again I appreciate all of you who had input and gave me advice on his health. No more mysterious lump, he’s eating very well, he’s hydrated and he’s active 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🐍

3/6/2023 Key West Kahl BCI, for anyone who hasn’t seen him on here yet. I picked him up 6/2/2026 from a couple on Facebook who were rehoming him and did not feed him nearly enough. He had a stuck poop that caused a bit of panic in myself. They did not disclose that in their post. Luckily everyone on here is super helpful

Guys it happened!

He passed that mysterious lump that was just before his cloaca. To me, it just looks like a small ball of poop. This has me so relieved. I do apologize for making the freak out posts last week about him, I just didn’t know what to do.

Today is also his weekly feed day and he took the adult mouse like a champ. I think after a few more weeks he can probably bump up to some sort of snack rat. I’m glad I found that poop ball and it’s out of his system

Looking to buy a laser

I’ve NEVER used a laser before or the programming or whatever is all needed to run one. I have my own business owning a successful pressure washing company but I’m getting surgery this week so I’m going to be down most of the summer.

Another passion I have is for exotic pets- snakes (have 6), reptiles, tarantulas(have 4), scorpions, other invertebrates. I know a lot of people who keep these animals as pets too. I’ve reached out and a lot have shown interest in purchasing acrylic enclosures for their small pets- tarantulas, scorpions, isopods, etc.

I have prints I’ve drawn up for these acrylic enclosures down to specific tolerances for lids and magnets embedded into the acrylic to hold down said lids. I just need to cut sheets of acrylic to my design specs.

What laser would you recommend me to get? I have zero background in CAD or anything related to laser or CNC machining but I need to keep myself busy and I’d like to add these enclosures to my LLC and have a business making and selling them. Thank you!

I’m shitty, angry, sad, at loss for words

I picked up this little guy a few days ago. He was born March 6, 2023 from Misfit Morphs on MM. He was up for rehoming a couple days ago from some people on a local facebook group. It’s evident he is severely underweight. He has a lump/mass 2” before his cloaca/vent that is semi-hard and it can move when I move it with my fingers.

He’s active, he’s inquisitive, he loves the bath, he’s exploring the grass doing sneky snek stuff. But by golly he is so under weight. I took him to the vet two days ago, they said they weren’t concerned and to give him a warm bath and maybe it’ll soften up and pass(possibly thinking it could be a stuck urate) so I did. Nothing happened. I tried massaging it out. Nothing.

I was advised to feed him by the vet so I did. I fed him and adult mouse which was his body size bc he’s so skinny. He took it like a champ. This was about 45 hours ago. I took him to another vet today and they didn’t seem too concerned either. But I’m not buying it. I rescued him bc I can clearly see he’s underweight. I mean he’s 3 fucking years old and shouldn’t be the size of a yearling. He’s a BCI Key West Kahl. He should be the size of my ball pythons if not surpassing them.

Is he going to make it or should I spend the rest of his time giving him the best love? Idk what to do since all the vets seem to think he’s ok. This is the hardest rescue I’ve done yet and he’s really hitting me hard.

Does she look a little blue?

She has been a bit moody (a few snaps at me, got my wife on the ) especially after her previous meal this past Wednesday. You guys think she could be getting rest for shed? Her darker scales have a bluish tint to them in the sun

Fed my rescue from yesterday

The shop I get my feeders from was closed early yesterday for some reason. So I went this morning and got him an adult mouse. He DESTROYED it within 10 seconds of me dropping it in his enclosure. He will get one of these every 7 days until he’s chunked up a bit and is looking healthier. Thank you to everyone who gave me advice about him

Picked this little dude up

I saw he was up for rehoming in a local facebook group. I’ve never had a boa but I’ve always wanted one. I currently have 5 BPs. He originally came from Morph Market from Misfit Morphs. He is Key West Kahl and was born 3/6/2023.

The folks I got him from who were rehoming him allowed him to get this way. Not the breeder from MM. Does he look healthy to all of you? I was told he ate a few weeks ago on a small rat
