Body moisturizer and shower oil in big bottles on a Chinese bullet train - allowed or not?

Hello, I'm planning a trip to China and I'll obviously take bullet trains.

I sadly suffer from eczema so I need to have my body moisturizer and shower oil with me. They are in big bottles. Moisturizer is 400ml and oil is 1L...

I'm very confused about volume limits of liquids on bullet trains.

  1. Will I be allowed to bring those big bottles of liquids with me on the train?
  2. Does it make any difference if I have them in my suitcase vs carry on? I don't need them in my hand luggage.

Do previously immunized humans need only 2 rabies shots post exposure regardless how long it's been since their PrEP vaccination?

If person who has received a rabies PrEP vaccination at some point in their life gets exposed, do they only need 2 PEP shots, regardless of when their initial vaccination was or what their booster status is?

Let's say I get my PrEP shots and never get a booster. If I am exposed to the virus 5, 10, or 20 years later, is there a time limit that "invalidates" the previous PrEP vaccine?

In case of exposure, would a patient in that situation have to take the full course of PEP as if they had never been vaccinated?

I am not asking for medical advice. I have read the FAQ.

What lead to Ukrainian state being so weak it couldn't protect its borders in 2014 and some of its citizens being so hostile towards Ukraine?

I've been watching fascinating documentaries "Russian Roulette in Ukraine" by Simon Ostrovsky's that cover the events of 2014 in Donbass, Luhansk and Crimea.

I cannot fathom, what lead to Ukrainian state being so weak, that it couldn't secure its own borders and let Russia transport troops, vehicles and ammo to the separatists.

On top of that, some locals were very hostile towards Ukraine, I was particularly shocked to see people disturbing the elections, taking the Ukrainian coat of arms off the buildings and cheering for Russia.

I'm trying to understand what lead to those people, Ukrainian citizens, having zero, or even negative, attachment to Ukraine. Could something be done to win those people over or are/were they homo-sovieticus beyond saving?

Are those farm fields in remote Mongolia?

While looking at Mongolia on Google Maps, I noticed those plots of land that look like farmfields, however, I don't think Mongolians have an actual farming industry.

Does anyone know what are these? They're definitely touched by humans. Location of this one is here but if you look at pretty much any random place in the vastness of Mongolian steppe you should find these.

Wymiana baterii w iPhone

Siema kogo polecacie w Szczecinie? Nie ukrywam, że wolałbym nie płacić 400 zł. Zbitaszybka jest ok? Mają akurat promocje za 300 zł.

Boję się że serwis włoży mi zamiennik zamiast oryginalnej baterii.

Roast my 3,5 weeks China itinerary!

Hi, some context:
- fit & traveling solo
- I’ll be entering China overland from Mongolia
- been to mainland China twice but places in my itinerary will be visited for the first time,
- skipping Beijing and The Wall as I’ve been there.

25.08, Tuesday: Arrival in Erenhot, overnight stay,
26.08, Wednesday: Train 🚅 Erenhot - Hohhot, arrival in the evening,
27.08, Thursday: Morning train 🚅 Hohhot - Xi'an, arrival in the afternoon, hotel nap, evening train 🚅 to Huayin, night climb up the Huashan and sunset at the top 🌄,
28.08, Friday: Huashan Plank Walk, descent, getting back to Xi’an and sleep,
29.08, Saturday: Travel back to Xi'an, sightseeing in Xi'an,
30.08, Sunday: Terracotta Army,
31.08, Monday: Train to Chengdu,
01.09, Tuesday: Pandas 🐼
02.09, Wednesday: Exploring Chengdu,
03.09, Thursday: Leshan Buddha day trip ☸️,
04.09, Friday: Train to Chongqing 🌃,
05.09, Saturday: Chongqing,
06.09, Sunday: Chongqing,
07.09, Monday: Train 🚅to Zhangjiajie, transfer to Wulingyuan,
08.09, Tuesday: Zhangjiajie National Park,
09.09, Wednesday: Zhangjiajie National Park,
10.09, Thursday: Glass bridge, afternoon transfer to Zhangijajie city,
11.09, Friday: Tianmen Mountain,
12.09, Saturday: Qixing Mountain and Sky Ladder ☁️🪜,
13.09, Sunday: Train Zhangjiajie - Shanghai,
14.09, Monday: Shanghai,
15.09, Tuesday: Shanghai,
16.09, Wednesday: Suzhou,
17.09, Thursday: Shanghai,
18.09, Friday: Flying home from Shanghai 🛫.

I think it’s not a bad plan, may be a bit rushed but not extremely. Some of the drawbacks are visiting the Terracotta Warriors on a Sunday but I can’t really work out coming there on another weekday and I prioritize Huashan over the stone army.

I may be able to extend the trip by two days. Not sure where I could use them though. Maybe spending one more night in Hohhot? Or an extra night in Zhangjiajie?

Has anyone ridden motorbike solo in Mongolia + looking for companions.

Inb4, posting it here because r/mongolia turns out to be not a very helpful sub.

I'm looking for people who have ridden a motorbike solo, without a guide in Mongolia, preferably on a Chinese Shineray bike.

I can't afford a guided tour. I plan to do this around 19-23rd of August. I'm down to find a companion

I'm considering a 3 day loop around Tuul River, in total ~360km. However, as I'm researching this route, I'm a bit anxious.

  1. The area is remote. I can see some gers in the sattelite pictrues but still, what if my bike breaks down or I fall from my bike while more than 20kms from nearest ger or a village?
  2. I'd have to drive 120km each day. Is it doable on a cheap Shineray bike offroad?

I can handle the navigation just fine, it's the remoteness and distances that scare me. I'm also open to suggestions of trails that are in less remote areas.

How to deal with a hotel room that smells like I'm inside an ashtray?

Hi, had this happen to me in Beijing. It was of course non smoking room but previous occupants didn't give a duck. The staff gave me an air freshener...

How to behave in this situation? Looking back, I think I should have demanded getting another room.

Switching to another medication after Dupixent causing facial flares?

Hi, I've been taking Dupixent for almost 2.5h years but since around 6 months I've been getting red facial flares every two weeks and it doesn't really work on eczema on my back. My doctor said they'll be considering switching me to another biologic (not a JAK inhibitor).

Other than Dupixent has been great for my body eczema and I hadn't had this issue with face flares during first 2 years of taking it.

How was your experience switching the meds due to facial flares?

Has anyone done solo unguided motorbike trip in Mongolia?

Hi, I just found out it's possible to rent a Shineray 200 CC for as little as 13 euro/day. It's very tempting. Has anyone drove around Mongolia on a motorcycle?

I've been thinking of doing something like a 3 day loop somewhere not far from UB, where I'd do max. 100-120km per day. Have you got any recommendations? Where to stay and will I be able to get petrol in any village?

Moreover I don't really have much experience driving motorcycles. I have my motorcycle license but I've only driven 600km on a scooter in Thailand. I wouldn't venture into very remote areas, basically stick to roads where there's at least some traffic.

Czemu porywacze zabili Olewnika, a potem sami poginęli?

Ta sprawa jest tak pogmatwana i nic nie ma tam sensu. Czy ktoś mógłby mi w formie TL;DR wytłumaczyć m.in.:

  1. Dlaczego go zabili po otrzymaniu okupu?
  2. Jakim cudem przetrzymywali go aż 2 lata i służby nie znalazły ich kryjówki?

Xi'an - Chengdu - Chongqing - Zhangjiajie - Shanghai itinerary in the first half of September, looking for first hand experience regarding the weather.

TL;DR If you've been to those places in early September, tell me if it's doable weather-wise.

Hi, I've been planning said itinerary, over ~3 weeks, starting in the very last days of August and finishing around 15th of September.

The only turn off is the temperature. From what I've gathered, the weather in the first half of September isn't much different than August and the temperatures magically drop in the second half of September. However, first half of September is the only time that I can come to China this year.

Therefore, I'm looking to hear first hand experience of travelers who've been to those places in the first half of September. Can it still be enjoyable? For reference I survived May and June in Thailand, however it's not the best weather to do sightseeing.
