What is this? It bit me.

Is that a weevil? It bit me and it itches. It kind of plays dead when I pick it up and put it back down again. It'll lay on its back or whatever side I place it down on for a couple seconds before getting up and running away.

Can someone explain Seek to me like I'm 5?

So I downloaded iNaturalist's new(ish) app, Seek, but I'm having trouble using it. Most of the time for plants it doesn't even get past telling me its a dicot. And if I keep missing the angle by hairs it loses the ID faster than I can read it. Sometimes the pictures I take disappear and it doesnt seem to record any finds broader than genus-species. I might as well just use the iNaturalist suggestions! It takes more clicks, but atleast i can test more than 1 image at a time. And the compare function is awesome.

I was hoping Seek was gonna be a Pokemon Go-esque adventure of collectibles and achievements but i was wrong lol. Am I missing something?

Can someone PLEASE make a time freeze/change mod?

WeMod/Wand's free version only allows 2 hours per day of use and the program has to be open while you play.

Can someone please make this simple mod for Nexus mods? I need to be able to stop time, fast forward, or go backward.

I will trade you some custom digital art!

Walking ball of moss: Green Lacewing Larva

Saw a moving ball of moss on a Magnolia tree. Some people call these Junk Bugs. Very soft-bodied indeed. Squishy fellows.

Reddit won't let me post a video AND a photo so ill include the photo where I found it in the comments so you can see the colors better.

Are there insect species that are safe to house with a hognose snake?

I'd like to add some pet insects into my bioactive enclosure that currently houses 1 Eastern Hognose, isopod CUC, and a Snow Leopard Mangave. I was thinking of keeping some kind of beetle. What do you recommend. And only if you think itd be safe.

What section of a scientific paper do you skip to?

I'm just curious what section (Abstract, Intro, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion) of an article do you typically skip to when you dont want to read the whole thing? How do you navigate that scenario for papers with heavy math or chemistry?

How do I care for a Giant Leopard Moth?

I want to raise a Hypercompe scribonia caterpillar. I understand it can take over a year to mature, so I'd like to give it a good home while we wait. Whats a good enclosure build I could make? I found it on a young mulberry plant. Should I give it branches to climb or is leaf litter enough? When should I bring the enclosure inside? Can I overwinter it faster without causing harm?

What species of Tiger Moth is this?

I looked at the Leopard moth but the one I found's red stripes are not that visible. Theyre hidden in the spikes.

A powdered substance in a Haribo gummy bear made my tongue numb and tingly.

I went through a whole small bag of regular Haribo gummy bears. Literally the 2nd to last gummy, when I bit into it, had a pocket of powdered substance that tasted straight up like disgusting chemicals. The tip of my tongue quickly became numb and tingly, a bit painful for a second, and now I cant get this NASTY taste out of my mouth.

It tastes EXACTLY like when you accidentally bite into a medicine tablet and the powder disintegrated in your mouth, coating your tongue in awful bs

Theres no way I'm allergic. I just ate the whole bag minus 2 cherries.

Best mite test and treatments?

Whats your preferred way to check mite levels? I saw a video where a guy used powdered sugar.

How are Oxalic acid, Thymol, and Formic Acid for treating mites? I'd like to stick amongst these 3 options, but willing to look at others since we dont have honey supers on yet. Of those 3, whats the best?

What IPM practices can I employ?

Temps ranging from 65-95 Fahrenheit for the next week. Will probably get hotter. Southern Arkansas, USA.

Whats the math on Credir Builder raising credit scores?

How long after using Credit Builder do you start to see results on your credit score? Whats the range of points earned per month or year?

What are the exact mechanics of Credit Builder? Do I just transfer my paycheck from Checkings to Credit Builder and use the CB card to pay for stuff? Whats the minimum dollar value spent per month to reap the benefits? Does more uses = more credit points earned? Can I just transfer $5, use it, and then I'm done for that month? Do I even have to spend it?

Poker cards I designed. 💙💛

I'm a digital artist and my favorite colors are blue and yellow! 💙💛 I designed this set of Poker cards and figured this subreddit would appreciate them! These are only the face cards. If I ever decide to get them made into an actual physical deck, I'll draw up the numbers.
