A health advisory was issued for Lake Sundance Thursday afternoon. Alberta Health Services said in a media release that a blue-green algae bloom and/or toxins have been identified in the waters of Lake Sundance.

A lightning strike left a crater in a sidewalk near 129 Avenue and 129 Street during one of Edmonton’s recent storms. Witnesses say the electrical current travelled underground before exiting near a fire hydrant, knocking out power in the area.
