If the mallet design was so good why didn't Britain adopt a mallet articulated locomotive

I mean the U.S and many parts of the world did it. Even Canada with only one locomotive did it why couldn't Britain do it. And before any of you say loading gauge or anything about breaking the couplings I think the LMS Garratt would like to have a word with you. And plus it's not like Britain would be using these engines for mainline passenger work so wouldn't a mallet be beneficial for the Brits on freight duties.

I have a theory as to why Chloe's imaginary worlds are always peaceful and why Chloe is always happy. None of this is ment to be taken literally

In the show Chloe's Closet, we see that there is no danger in Chloe's worlds and we also rarely see Chloe ever feel anything other than happy. My theory says the reason Chloe's worlds are never dangerous because there was a time were Chloe used to make worlds full of very dangerous creatures and it always scared the other children. As a result, Chloe's parents banned her from making these types of worlds and threatened to punish her for that. That's why Chloe's worlds are always peaceful. The other part of the theory is that Chloe used to get joy from torturing others with her imaginary worlds but after getting banned from imagining dangerous worlds, she tried seeing how it felt to be nice to others and she realized she liked that more than torture. That's why she's almost never seen feeling anything other than joy.

Popular Opinion: Social Media needs to be regulated

We have an algorithm that rewards terrible behavior and people are willing to act immoral in public as long as they get views and the companies have shown they wont do anything about it. I know I don't usually like suggesting regulation as a solution as regulation can lead to loopholes and can lead to over-regulation but I think social media needs at least some regulations put in place to off set the stuff people are willing to do for views.

So in Chloe's Closet, What things is Chloe not to imagine in here imaginary world or dress up as?

Here's some possible examples

Chloe, Jet, and Tara go in to a world were they imagine they are serial killers and each of them compete to see how much people they kill with Chloe and Lovely Carrots killing the most people.

the next Chloe, Lil, and Mac imagine they met Hitler and dress up as Nazis to try and have a conversation with the man who led to the deaths of and a total ethnic cleansing of many ethnic groups

The last example Chloe, Danny and Tara dress up as slave masters and they pretend to enslave their toys and Lovely Carrots is the one bringing the toys on a slave trade to the plantation where Danny sells the enslaved toys to Chloe and Tara.

And here are the theoretical examples of what Chloe can't imagine or dress up as in Chloe's Closet. do y'all have any other suggestion of theoretical things Chloe cant dress up as or imagine in her imaginary world.

CMV: Thomas and Friends is actually not Authoritarian

I dont see why some parents and people say Thomas and Friends is authoritarian, In fact, I think Thomas and Friends is a good kids show and is perfect for kids

Sir Topham Hatt has never been seen scrapping a train in Thomas. In fact Sir Topham saved Hiro in "Hero of the Rails", He saved Oliver from being scrapped on British Railways after steam traction officially ended in Britain in 1968 in the episode "Escape", and He allowed Donald's twin Douglas to stay on Sodor to avoid scrap in the Scottish region of Britain.

  • When scrap is mentions in the book "Stepney The Bluebell Engine", Percy says "engines on the Other Railway aren't safe now, there controllers are cruel" This tells us Sodor is a safe place for trains and trains are being scrapped on British Railways by British controllers not Sir Topham Hatt.
  • The racist comments made by Thomas towards the diesel train named Diesel in "Misty Island Rescue" was a result of poor writing quality considering it was the Nitrogen era (seasons 13-16) when this was made but the engines have a logical reason to be against diesels. When Diesel, the first diesel train on Sodor, came, he told lies about Duck to the big trains Gordon, James, and Henry, many diesels like class 40 and Spamcam came and were rude to the steam trains. And not all diesel trains are treated horribly, Boco, Salty, Mavis, Daisy, and Bear are treated well and are nice to the steam trains.
  • There is a reason for the prejudice against diesels in Thomas that ties to real life. In the 50s and 60s, rail companies in many parts of the world, most notably in the UK and US were replacing steam trains and as a result many classes became extinct like the E2s that Thomas was based on and the J70 tram engines like Toby. The steam trains are racist towards the diesel trains because they many steam trains like Oliver, and Douglas who came to Sodor from the mainland told them stories of traumatic experiences seeing their siblings getting scrapped and diesels coming in to replace them causing the Sodor engines who were on Sodor before Modernization in 1955 like Thomas, Percy, Gordon, Henry, James, Edward, and Toby to have a negative view of diesels causing Thomas's racism in the Thomas and Friends movie "Misty Island Rescue" and "Day of The Diesels".
  • He let out Henry at the next episode and he didn't brick up Henry for no reason. He did it because Henry refused to get out of the tunnel because Henry was worried his paint will be ruined by the rain and Henry wasn't doing the work he was ment to do which was to take the passengers to their destination and hiding in a tunnel is not an excuse to not work plus the U.S dub makes it clear the bricking wasn't permanent. Besides if Henry wasn't going to get out even when given many chances to why try to get him out.

Why Thomas Fans like Andrew Brenner should have owned Thomas after season 7

Thomas would have been better if it was owned by Thomas fans after season 7 because after season 7, Hit decided to add some changes that turned Thomas into the boring baby show crap of season 8-16 known as the Hit and Nitrogen eras and even though Mattel did initially have respect for Thomas by hiring Andrew Brenner to write for seasons 17-21, Mattel would then try to turn Thomas into a cartoon and finally create fucking All Engines Go after season 24 which led to Mattel now trying to make an apology for fucking up Thomas and Friends by creating another reboot of Thomas the Tank Engine. If Thomas fans owned Thomas after season 7, we wouldn't have had to deal with the crap we face now because Thomas would be owned by people who care and it would have had a nice conclusion.

What would things have looked like if British Railways never formed and instead the Big 4 railways remained.

I was wondering how things would look like in Britain if the Big 4 remained and British Railways never formed. Would dieselization have happened quicker? how would the Big 4 tried to stay relevant in a world that was becoming addicted to cars? and would a nationalized passenger rail company eventually form in this alternate universe? posting in the U.S by the way.

What would things have looked like in Britain if Britain's rail network was never privatized? Posting in the U.S by the way

I was wondering what would have happened if British Railways had never privatized. What would have been different? would steam locos still been banned from mainline service and confined to heritage lines? how would Britain's trains and rail lines look if British Railways never died?

Unpopular opinion: I think Michael Brandon was a good Thomas narrator

I don't really think Michael Brandon is a bad Thomas narrator, infact I think he's a good narrator and that he doesn't deserve the amount of hate he gets. Here's all the reasons why I think Michael Brandon is a good Thomas narrator.

  1. compared to Michael Angelis, during the hit era Michael Brandon sounded more energetic and like he actually wanted to be narrator rather than someone who was looking for a pay check and nothing else.
  2. His character voices sound unique. Though not all his voices are good, especially the narrow gauge engines, at least he gave the characters their own distinct voice unlike season 6 Alec Baldwin.
  3. His Diesel voice sounds iconic. They way he voices Diesel fits Diesel's character during the hit era well and it was so good he continued to voice Diesel during the first few CGI seasons. Michael Brandon also did a very good attempt at a Scottish accent for Donald and Douglas that was as good as the Scottish accent George Carlin gave the Scottish twins and far better than season 6 Alec Baldwin who didn't even attempt at a Scottish accent at all. Michael Brandon also did a good Gordon voice in my opinion that suits Gordon's hit era character well.

What is the most heart warming story you heard of a locomotive getting preserved. TTTE dose count.

mines is Duke of Gloucster's Story. In 1968, when BR officially ended all its steam traction Duke of Gloucster seemed destined to be scrapped untill a signalman saved him by sending him onto a track that led to the Woodham brothers scrapyard were he layed there for many years till he got saved and he lives on to tell that tale.

Since America's 250th is coming, what do you think is the most American locomotive ever in your Opinion.

I'll start with mine. In my humble opinion the Union Pacific Big Boys are the most American locomotive simply due to the fact they are the literal embodiment of America's love of big everything. Im posting in the U.S by the way

My personal AU Headcannons for the Scrap engines

The scrap engine on the left was an SER O class who was withdrawn in 1961. He used to pull freight up until the C class came when he became a mixed traffic engine working on his branchline in Kent. although majority of his brothers were scrapped before WWII, He managed to survive untill Modernization sealed his fate in 1961.

The scrap engine on the right is a NBR A class who worked in Scotland. He pulled goods trains and was proud of his Scottish heritage. Percy met him when they were about to go to the Great Railway show in Euston and they became friends and Percy would often tell him his stories. He was withdrawn and scrapped in 1961.

The engine behind the one on the right is a NER Class E1 who worked as a station pilot in York up untill withdrawl in 1961. He always wanted is own branch line to call home but never got a branchline of his own and was often mocked by the big engines for wanting to see the world.

The last one is the saddest one. The engine on the far right is a GWR 1361 Class. He lived and shunted at the docks and he loved the sea because of it. many engines came and went but he remained happy untill diesels came and told him he was "worthless". He didn't believe this untill his controller said to his face "your worthless". After that he basically given up on life and decided to go to the scrapyards in 1961 to be scrapped because he didn't want to live anymore.

Conspiracy: Thomas and Friends Takes place in a post Apocalyptic world were sodor is the only safe place for steam trains

Thomas is a post apocalyptic train world according to some and there's evidence to prove it

Thomas and Friends is based in real life and in real life steam trains got scrapped across the entire world but since Thomas is British, majority of time when scrap is brought up it usually deals with Britain

Percy says in one book "Engines on the other railway arent safe now, their controllers are cruel, they dont like engines anymore, they put them on cold, damp, sidings, than they cut them up" This implies that out side of sodor, steam trains are being killed and when Percy says the "Other Railway" he's refering to British Railways in Britain were in real life over 16,000 steam trains were being scrapped between 1955-1968 during its modernization plan to replace steam with diesel. Putting that in Thomas and it makes it seem as though the British government was committing mass genocide of steam trains

In the books and tv series its never shown that Sir Topham has scrapped any engine but maybe he dose this because he does not want the engines to rebel. maybe he scraps engines when the engines aren't looking and he uses lies to make them think he's not cruel in fact in the book were I got the quote from the foreword says that British Railways controllers arent cruel impling British controllers use lies to get their engines to think that they love them and care for them

of coures this is just a conspiracy theory and none of this is ment to be taken literally

If you could make a Thomas book, what would it be about and what would you call it?

I'll start with mine. Mines will be called how Diesel 10 became Diesel 10 and be about how Diesel 10 came to Sodor from the mainland and how he gained Pinchy. and also in that book it would be revealed that Diesel 10 didn't want to go to Sodor but had to in order to escape being scrapped himself.
