I just had a random existential crisis

Almost needed to pop a xanax. Wait a second we are champs?? Still hasnt fully sunk in. Im starting to wonder if ill ever truly believe it.

Started watching them as a freshman in high school in NJ in 1990. I was 14. Decades of Friday night knicks and almosts. Im 50 now 🥴

It STILL hasnt sunk in lmao

Was a fan for 36 years before this. Since around 1990. It always seemed impossible no matter how good we ever got. There was always someone better. To be that one team that no one is better seemed forever out of reach.

You spend decades watching friday night knicks, multiple playoff runs, do it again next year, year after year, decades go by, all of a sudden im 50 years old 🥴. And then they win it a cpl weeks after my 50th. I still have a hard time believing it actually happened. I know it did but its very surreal. I felt this after the 07 giants too. I waited 17 years for that one and to do it against an undefeated juggernaut pats team in the way we did it with the helmet catch, but this is almost even more amazing bc of how long it took, the og tip in, the big comeback, so many different moments. In a way i dont even care if we never win another one in my lifetime. This was enough for me.

Various newb question

- the circular object to the left of the mini map. I know this has to do with Astro fire and umbrella ice. But what are all these other shapes around it?

- what is that orange badge that’s above it with a star in it?

- at rhe bottom why is the lightning spell outlined in a dashed square?

In a time of apparent magic…

This line has really stuck with me. Obviously we all know nolan is very grounded. Its the heart of his filmmaking style. He doesnt like to get too into the fantastical, which is why his decision to take this project on is so perplexing to me. He strikes me as a guy who may not be very spiritual or religious.

He added this line at the beginning i think as a clue to what this movie wasnt going to be. It wasnt going to be about the gods. They are never shown. There are some fantastical elements like cyclops but he really limits that stuff.

That word “apparent” is like a subtle knife in the backs of anyone who is a believer. That says to me from his perspective “you say there are gods apparently, but im not really buying it.” The ambiguity between the supernatural and the explainable. The line leaves open whether the gods are fully real. I feel like he was compelled to add this to say well you can believe this stuff might be real if you want, but i dont. A skeptic.

When does it make sense to upgrade weapons?

I’m early in the game so the best weapon I have is a level 7 splatter shot. Should i be spending crystals to upgrade a lvl7 weapon? Seems weird bc what if i find a better one soon? Then i wasted those upgrades?

I cant listen to bullet in a bible

It drives me absolutely crazy how billy is constantly like Come on! Lets go! Alright! England! Get those hands in the air! I wanna see those hands! Its just endless the entire show. He even does it in songs that arent hard rocking like are we the waiting where its extremely out of place. Like give it a rest for 5 minutes man.

Idk why he started doing this constantly but he didnt in the 90s. It sounds so silly when he does it. Very much not punk and more like typical arena rock. But he does it way more than other arena rock bands. Hetfield from metallica does it but way less.

Bro geddys vocals in atwas

I havent listened to the working man/finding my way medley in many years. His vocals in this part are insane. He was unable to do this just a few years later but this was absolute peak of his screaming era.

Massive bean bag

I have a huge bean bag that is in good shape and free if anyone is interested in it. Otherwise its getting tossed. You just throw a blanket on it. You would probably need a truck to haul it away. Lmk. Middletown btw

How bad is this?

First normal run. I got rocked on venom 2 really struggling with the dog fight part. Lost like a dozen lives.

Venom 2 is impossible

Just on normal but jesus. This basically killed the entire game for me. Got here with 15 lives and lost them all. Didnt take out a single wolf the entire time. Im not using charged shots, but it’s just impossible to hit them. I’m getting a supply drop, but I can never find it anywhere. This level is so frustrating. Its killing my thumb.

Edit: so i just beat it. Did somersaults constantly

All it needs is a saloon

How come when kitty mentions this to robert he didnt mention that they had one, or are building one? Later on he says “bar, always open.” It would have been humorous after she said that if he said there was one. For some reason this pops in my head every time i see this movie lol

Little late to the party

Just started playing this for the first time. On sale on the steam deck with the 2 sequels. Its pretty great so far. Obviously heavily inspired by uncharted but more rpg type aspects.

Without spoiling anything are the 2 sequels as good or better?

Can we agree that alden ehrenreich is the weak link actor in this movie?

The first time i heard of him was the solo movie and that he was struggling so hard that they had to get him acting lessons. They didnt do much. I thought he was so dull in that movie.

In this movie he has a small role but his facial mannerisms strike me as someone who just is not a great actor and probably never will be. You can see such a difference between him and RDJ who is very confident and skilled in his role.
