Judge denies constitutional right to pregnant woman!

This woman is forced to go to court WHILE IN LABOR to be approved for a C-section. When she asks to have an attorney, the judge denies she has a constitutional right to an attorney in this case. What’s going on??? This is an absolute outrage.

Who are some of your favourite female authors?

When I think about this question, immediately, some heavy hitters like Agatha Christie, Ursula K. Le Guin, and J.K. Rowling come to mind.

However, I'm especially curious about more modern or lesser-known female authors that might be your favourite.

  • Canonically "ugly" MC
  • Antagonists with genuine depth and character arcs
  • Obsession or revenge plots
  • Historical characters time travelling to present day
  • Divorced characters getting back together
  • MC's romantic rival later becomes their love interest
  • Popular MC x Popular LI
  • Loser MC x Loser LI
  • Hero, villain & civilian love triangle
  • Conflicts where both sides are morally grey
  • Fake amnesia
  • Reformed villain MC
  • Genuinely platonic opposite-sex friendships
  • Slow-burn neighbours to lovers
  • Slow-burn friends to enemies
  • Criminal MC (heist, globe-trotting fugitive, spy, etc)
  • LI is a really nice golden retriever who only hates the MC
  • Stoic character accidentally adopting child
  • Hilarious, charismatic villains
  • MC with children and/or a family (not necessarily relevant to the plot)
  • Fourth wall breaking
  • Cat-and-mouse chase or power game between two rivals
  • MC's BFF is complex with their own personality and subplot
  • Highly-competent FMC, "ditzy" male LI (E.g: CEO is a himbo running his company into the ground)

What are the main differences between Sunni Islam and Shia Islam?

I am not personally religious and know relatively little about Islamic theology, but I am a PPE student, and have often heard the distinction made between these two sects during my studies. I've looked up this subject in the past, but the context surrounding the divide seemed far more elaborate and nuanced for a simple Google search to properly address, which is why I'm here!

I'm curious to learn about what factors historically drove the split, what the major differences are between the two, and perhaps some modern context for how the divide between these two branches manifests today.

I have also heard Sunni-Shia divide be loosely compared to the Catholic-Protestant split, and I'm wondering if this is actually an apt characterization.

Why do some women tell their friends their boyfriends are ugly?

E.g: I'm a girl & I've often shown my friends pics of guys I'm seeing (who I think are cute) who'll say they don't think they're that cute. I get that that’s their opinion, but if they know their friend likes him, why say that? It feels like a relatively common thing in female friendships and is lowkey hurtful.

"Race against time" shows?

The title, basically. Looking for underrated shows with a race against time as a substantial part of the plot. I've seen a lot of shows, so this is by no means exhaustive, but some shows with this general theme I've already seen and enjoyed:

  • Chernobyl
  • Salvation
  • Utopia
  • Breaking Bad
  • Hard Sun
  • Trapped (Icelandic show)
  • Jack Ryan
  • Ozark
  • Three Body Problem
  • Into the Night
  • Fargo

What does the debate look like from a strictly secular perspective?

I'm wondering, if we did not factor in those who consider their opinion as based primarily in religious reasons, approximately what the % of people who are pro-life vs pro-choice might look like.

Of course, this is hard to definitively measure for various reasons, but I was curious if anyone had any theoretical or empirical insight on the extent to which religion plays a factor in this debate.

How can I get this Simple Foliage tree in the game?

I absolutely love this decorative tree from the Simple Foliage mod and I would love to have it in-game (static or on my farm) without having to use the entire mod (the foliage in my game is already edited with DaisyNiko's Recolour). Is there a way to do this?

Any other ABCD Biharis? I'm a Bihari Canadian who's never met another Bihari outside India

To be fair, I'm from the Maritimes, so not as much broad diversity in general 😂
