Messi becomes the first player in World Cup history to score 20 goals.

He’s scored 14 goals AFTER turning 35 years old.

Just insane longevity.

Singularity Predictions Mid-2026.

Normally we do this at end of every year but I’m jumping the gun and doing a mid-year checkup since we are basically halfway through the year.

For those that don’t how this works

  1. Give the year you predict AGI to occur
  2. Give the year you predict ASI to occur
  3. Give the year you predict Singularity to occur

I’ll go ahead and give mine

AGI by December 31, 2028
ASI by December 31, 2030
Singularity by December 31, 2032

What is something that exists today that will be obsolete in 20 years (2046)?

So a family member showed me a photo of myself at a Blockbuster checking out PS2 games in summer of 2006.

I kinda cringed a little seeing my 9 year old self but then I got a little rush of nostalgia goosebumps seeing things that were once part of my childhood now basically a relic in the past.

So that begs the question. What are some things that exist today that will be obsolete in 20 years time?

Like many people in this sub I’m heavily looking forward to the day super-intelligence (ASI) is achieved and when that happens a lot of things we accept as normal could go by the wayside.

For example I’m hoping by 2046 that aging is completely optional and that theoretically an 80 year old would look and feel like someone in their early 20s. In other words 80 is the new 20 by the year 2046.

Kevin Garnett is still the only player to lead a franchise in all 5 major basic stats. Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals and Blocks.

Giannis was 48 steals shy of being the Bucks all time steals leader which would also make him the Bucks all time leader in all 5 stats.

LeBron won his 2nd title on this day 13 years ago.

Superstars Chris Bosh and Ray Allen had an UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING performance in Game 7 as well.

Finishing with a combined 0 points on 0/9 FG.
