The 90's were WILD. ✨️

This book was made at Mirage in 1993.

The cartoon was already a success and the first movie was about to be released. Imagine going into a comic shop and finding this issue on the rack. You will either love it, or hate it.✨️

I liked the character cameos from other IPs and the gall the artist had to make the black natives so "oogaboogish". Being black myself, I can appreciate comedy where no holds are barred and irreverence is spewed equally. ✨️

That being said, it surprised the hell outta me to see fried chicken eating, dress wearing, shit talking turtles...I mean, no pizz a? Looking forward to reading more TMNT from this era...✨️

First of all, I may spoil this, I may not, but my goal is NOT TO... THESE TITLES ARE GOING TO TURN THE COMIC BOOK INDUSTRY ON IT'S HEAD. ✨️

MIND MGMT New and Improved

This book is witty, thought provoking and oddly humorous. From the blind bag variant to the recent FCBD preview/bridge, there is a lot of meta commentary worth unpacking if you love collecting like myself, but are sometimes confused by reading and purchasing trends.✨️

Issue #1 initially confused me with Korean trade dress and upon understanding why this "accident" happened, it just added to the fourth-wall breaking meta concept of this story with remarkable relevance. If youìa read the foil blind bag, it's where the journey, or initiation begins. ✨️

FORT PSYCHO

This book is ABSOLUTELY BANANAS....and brilliant, to say the least. This book sums up all my recent comicbook commentary in one series. The satire is unforgiving and goes straight for the jugular addressing current "cultural" trends and spinning it through the roof. If there's a preorder, count me in. I can't wait to see readers faces by the time we hit issue 12. This will be one for the history books....✨️😂😜

BTW....this cover is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. It captures the very essence of the point KINDT and HURTT are making with this series. The FCBD 'prequel' landed perfectly and 'primes' the reader for the events in issue one.✨️😉🫡

(The COMICS! The Magazine article is ABSOLUTE genius and adds to the meta commentary of the two books with sweet, yet subtle sarcasm.) Appreciate those extra pages. ✨️

It was hard writing this without spoilers, but these books are literally performance art, patiently waiting for it's audience. Once you ealize the EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES as well, the premise and payoff will ABSOLUTELY blow you away. Iykyk. ✨️

Saw this in my LCS today and decided to get it for the interview with the creative team behind ABSOLUTE BATMAN. ✨️

Found a few first printing ABSOLUTE issues as well. I only know about this magazine because I saw someone post it as if they were going to tuck it in a CGC slab and I found that to be a little odd. ✨️

Sidebar: A lot of collectors have spoken on the raw condition of ABSOLUTE BATMAN #20 (Robins), saying that the spine was damaged from manufacturing and CGC have taken note and have been lienient on ticks for this issue. How does this one look that I found. Looks fine to me, but then again, I'm not a grader...nor am I having it slabbed. I'm just big on proper curation and archiving. ✨️

NSFW. This mini-series definitely delivers with the humor, the art AND the premise. In a world where everyone has weird obsessions. Imagine one being punching bad guys in the JUNK. Bananas. Cucumbers too. 😜😂🤣

Funding space exploration by making adult movies. Great art. Fun, witty, and very sex positive. Good read. Looking forward to Vol. 2. ✨️
