Queen Mother and The Loyalists (Tomahawk Angel)
In this manga, an entity called the Queen Mother (shown in the first 3 pictures; the first picture is a juvenile) comes to Earth and basically ruins the world just from it's presence. The Queen Mother is a psychological threat more than anything, being able to invade your mind. And the Queen Mother weaponizes this in a really unique way. It's intelligent enough to understand the concept of religion and essentially creates it's own, penetrating the human mind and making humanity believe that the Queen Mother isn't just a god, but the One True God.
And this plays into her minions, the Loyalists (pictured 4-13). Loyalists are humans who worship the Queen Mother. The majority of people in this world believe that Queen Mother is either a god or an alien from another world, but mere belief doesn't make you a Loyalist. Again, it requires worship. If the Queen Mother takes a liking to you, she'll invade your mind more often than the average person, feeding your brain more propaganda that she is a god, a saviour. And once your level of worship and belief reaches a certain point, she "blesses" you, mutating you into a Loyalist and adding you to her army.
And depending on how you worship her, you become a different type of Loyalist. If your loyalty is at, for lack of a better term, level 1, you're a normal Loyalist, though there are different variations of them, as shown in the pictures. A specific Loyalist is the Writer, shown in picture 10, who has special access to the Loyalist hivemind (yes, there's a hivemind). The Writer's main goal is to, would you look at that, write. Every word it writes travels through the hivemind, reaching every Loyalist on the planet. What it writes is things like "Believe" or "Pray" and things like that; basically making sure that every Loyalist is still faithful to the Queen Mother, keeping them obedient and worshipful.
The highest level of Loyalist is the Matriarch, shown in picture 9, and it's a Loyalist whose belief and worship of the Queen Mother far exceeds the average. It essentially acts like a beacon for the other Loyalists, guiding them and leading them to where they need to go, kind of like a shepherd.
The entities pictured 14-18 are...complicated to describe, so it's best to imagine them as animals that were infected with an extraterrestrial version of the T-Virus from Resident Evil, courtesy of Queen Mother.
The last 2 creatures are an anomaly, to put it lightly. Respectively, they're known as the Auraforge and the Auradeath. They're like an eldritch Yin and Yang. Their mere existence opposes each other, and despite clearly having intelligence, mostly just... wander around the planet. The Auraforge's eye is like a hypnotizing lighthouse, and anyone who makes direct eye contact with it is compelled to follow it wherever it goes until the person dies. Even as it glides over water, the people don't even swim; they straight-up walk along the waterbed, following it mindlessly. The Auradeath does the opposite; it kills. Anyone who makes direct eye contact with it sends it into a bloodlusted state and it mindlessly destroys anything and everything that moves until it decides to stop.
So, with all that lore dumping out of the way, why are they here? Simple: the body horror is cool as fuck, all of the designs are unique, terrifying, and badass, and the way some of the creatures have specific roles in the hivemind and how they have designs that reflect that role makes them even more interesting.
