How many people here really know about Malty?

If you're familiar with anime you probably know this face. Every time someone on any anime subreddit makes a post about ‘Which of these anime characters would you like to field dress with a spatula’ Malty is almost guaranteed to be on the list. But I have to ask, how many people here REALLY know that much about this character?

In Shield Hero, Malty S. Melromarc is overly hated in a clear case of internalized misogyny from both the creator and a majority of the fans. She's one of the best worst examples of the dangerously high levels of contempt that is given towards female villains. She's reviled for her actions, yet characters like Joker, Homelander, and Walter White do FAR worse things and have legions of fans who will justify or even defend their actions until they’re blue in the face.

In a world with villains who have confusing and ever-changing motives, Malty remains very simple in what her goals are and what she wants to accomplish. In short, Malty’s goal is to become queen. And she’s willing to claim the throne by any means necessary.

Why does she want to be queen so bad you may ask?

Because becoming queen is the only way she can escape being raped/torture to death!

Why would that happen to her you may ask?

Because her own mother, the current queen, sold her as a political sex toy to a serial killing, rapist, pedophile called the Ping King, who is in charge of the most advanced kingdom in the land called Faubrey. Literally his kingdom is far advanced, it has cars, planes, guns, and hospitals.

Needless to say, many other nations want to be a part of his table. So, he demands that the other kingdoms have their women sent to him as 'toys' to rape and torture them until they’re just a puddle of gristle and fat on the floor. Then he heals them back to 100% with magic just to start all over again. This can go on for weeks or even months, until he gets bored and demands a new toy.

In Vol 16 on the canon LN, her mother confirms that she set it up a long time before the story started, claiming she wanted to save her country no matter what the cost. Even if it meant sending her daughter to a fate worse than death. Then her dying moments, both her parents blame themselves for driving Malty to such extremes, and that she was just trying to save herself.  The link below confirms this.

The fans LOVE this btw, as the series isn't much more than an excuse to see her suffer. Many people, myself included, believe she's a vessel for a woman the author hates irl and the angry little incel fans can't get enough of this. Don't believe me?

More Malty Memes - Vol 27

Hello everyone and welcome to another entry in our series!

When you think about it, Naofumi has little to complain about. He bounced back pretty damn fast from his banishment, people started trusting very quickly and some even acted like nothing was the matter. Yet he has this annoying chip on his shoulder like he's unfairly treated and faces prejudice on a daily basis. Even after he gets the damn QUEEN in his pocket, he still acts this way. It's very pathetic, especially considering he's a slaver......

Meanwhile, poor Malty is treated like the ultimate evil, yet from what we're shown, she's on par with most 'mean girls' from high school dramas. Life ain't fair!

I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the summer weather!!

Azula defenders have a completely altered perception of reality.

Note that I'm using the term "stan" (toxic fan), so don't come at me with accusations that I'm generalizing or lumping all fans together. I respect Azula fans who love her for the villain she is without justifying her actions or distorting the narrative.

and the problem is so many men still deny this!! Including my brother

My brother and I are literally movie partners, we watch a lot of movies together. One day we were discussing a few movies like the self proclaimed critics we are and I noticed how much he did NOT believe that the female characters in these movies are almost always either there for male gaze, or subservient to the male main character.

They are always shown emotional, and ALWAYS fall in love and their sub plot is just her falling in love or talking about emotions etc.

She is shown uptight, easily impressed and always flustered. Either that or she's this sexy baddie winning whom is shown as a triumph for the male lead.

And I could go on and on in ALL the subtle ways a female character in these movies is portrayed to the point it irritates me, but the fact that my brother including SO MANY men don't even believe this happens is flabbergasting

Any ways or recommendations on how I can convince my brother that this is true ?? I really wanna open his eyes, he isn't a typical mysoginistic man, he's very much feminist but this is just he can't see

Give me some recommendations or videos or proofs idk

I was thinking about telling him that black widow tied to chair action scene where she wearing a black dress that's revealing her cleavage and stuff. What else can I say??

More Malty Memes - Vol 25

One of the most ironic things about Shield Hero is, the only thing anyone cares about is Malty. It's already been proven several times that the series has utterly nothing to offer without her, and viewers/rating take a nosedive!

It's so by-the-numbers, I've seen movie-based video games that are way more engaging. So if the writers are stupid enough to keep her dead for another season, I doubt it'll last much longer. Malty is truly the Centre. Without her, there is nothing!

And seriously, some of those movie themed games were pretty good. Check of the one for the 2007 Beowulf movie!

What character's do you believe get this? Here's mine

There's no doubt that many of these female characters get the hate they do because they're women, and if they were male, people would defend them to death. Even if Charlie's actions were questionable in Season 2 of Hazbin Hotel, many people were starting to actually like Valentino in Season 2 over Charlie. FYI, people, Valentino is a rapist and an abuser!

Others are called useless or even called out for not being perfect, and even if they are redeemed, well-layered, well-written, or provide good use to the story, they're still hated on.

Hello friends!

I think we can all relate to this. We found ourselves intrigued by Malty at first, thinking this was just another fantasy anime. Malty would be a good Lady Macbeth figure and perhaps have a Maleficent vibe. Then we saw the most horrible ending for the poor thing, and every nightmare come true for her, even tho she had a damn good reason for fighting back against the world. Its far more depressing than most villain defeats, due to it being textbook revenge-porn instead of an actual climax for the hero's triumph against them.

Or at least a very different climax than what the author was thinking of. Jesus H. Christ

Have a lovely weekend! I hope it's warmer where you are than it is here!

Ryona- a sungenre of games dedicated to just torturing women and making them suffer. (Warning: violence, mild nudity)

Look it up- it’s a Japanese subgenre of game and the entire point is that people get off on making fictional women (a lot of time not even adults, literal teenagers) suffer and die.
