"The 3000 year old promise".....

What do you think of Jews appealing to this in the case of the occupation in Palestine?

I used to think it was just a joke but alot of them do believe in it. The UN functions and land charters mostly function on secular laws so I dont know why the Bible has any say in the matter (maybe because of the power of Jews + number of Christians)

But another thing is them saying such ideas are found in the Quran, when the Quran makes it clear that covenants arent for the wrongdoers and Bani Israel betrayed Allah for their desires

What do you think our attitude should be towards Jews who believe in this promise? Should we entertain it/explain the issue to them, or just brush it off as something irrelevant to today?

What are your thoughts on video games that contain shirk?

As Ive done more research on Islam, Ive begun to notice that there is shirk in pretty much every RPG game out there. God of war, Elden ring, the witcher, Diablo, Elder scrolls etc. These games all contain either rituals or concepts of God who created the universe, or pantheons of gods from mythologies

As such Ive stopped playing them as a whole since I no longer felt comfortable making a playable character engage in shirk, even though I might like to play them

Maybe Im an extremist who knows 🤷‍♂️

I want the opinion of people on here on games that contain shirk, i.e mythological gods, playing as gods, sacrificing to god, and whether you view this as halal (since its fiction and one doesnt believe in it), haram (since its still shirk even if its a game) or kufr in your view

SSD prices too expensive, should I buy from aliexpress?

Theres no real good deals on SSD rn, prices are through the roof, I will probably be able to only buy 1 terrabyte for this build

Whats really disheartening is that around 1-2 years ago most people on this subreddit were saying that every modern PC should have 2 or more terrabytes of storage.

But with the new SSD prices idk if I wanna justify that much money to buy 2 terrabytes of storage. Should I buy used, from retailers like temu/aliexpress, or just go with the 1?

Classic challenge is now the best way to play this game

This is the one silver lining thats keeping me on this game

Ever since gem inflation, 10 gems to enter a classic challenge is absolutely nothing.

For that measly cost, you get to enter a game where you can choose all of your cards, no more being locked out from decks due to levels and/or not having certain heroes and evolutions

You get to actually play competent opponents using meta decks so your skill improves much more than playing on ladder, and after 10 wins you face players who consistently win these challenges, which is where your skill as a player is truly tested

And hey, if you lose, just reroll. You can always make a different deck too

Stop demonising this action (important)

I see non stop posts of men and women saying

"I dont want to get married/I will never get married/I hate the idea of marriage/what do I do if I dont want to get married"

Whats gotten into you people? Dont you know that marriage is among the most important things in our religion? Dont you know that Allah and the Prophet ﷺ both heavily emphasized marriage?

Surah 16:72

"And Allah has made for you spouses of your own kind, and given you through your spouses children and grandchildren. And He has granted you good, lawful provisions. Are they then faithful to falsehood and ungrateful for Allah’s favours?"

Surah 24:32

"Marry off the ˹free˺ singles among you, as well as the righteous of your bondmen and bondwomen. If they are poor, Allah will enrich them out of His bounty. For Allah is All-Bountiful, All-Knowing."

Mishkat al-Masabih 3096

Anas reported God’s Messenger ﷺ as saying, “When a man marries he has fulfilled half of the religion; so let him fear God regarding the remaining half.”

Mishkat al-Masabih 3254

Anas reported God’s Messenger as saying, “When a woman observes the five times of prayer, fasts during Ramadan, preserves her chastity and obeys her husband, she may enter by any of the gates of paradise she wishes.”*

* A way of saying nothing will prevent her from entering paradise.

Abu Nu'aim transmitted it in al-Hilya.

Imam Bukhari رحمه الله said, "Marriage for the youth in the time of fitnah is more obligatory then Hajj." [Fatawa Manar al Islam 2/575].

I will receive hate for this, but it needs to be said. Posts demonising marriage on here should be banned, it does nothing but vilify one of the most important acts in Islam

We dont need less of marriage in our ummah, we need more of it. Hate of marriage is one of the direct causes of zina in our society

What even is 'potential' in Dragon Ball (specifically pertaining to Gohan)?

Potential, at least as it was initially established in the series, is the innate ability or limit of a fighter

Gohan has had his potential unlocked twice now. Once by Guru, which barely did anything on Namek, and once by the Supreme Kai, which pushed him from weaker than his prime ssj2, to well over ssj3 gotenks level power

What happened in between these two events? Did Gohans body figure out "oh, I have more potential after all! I can get more of it unlocked!"?

Or was Guru just a fraud or something? Obviously, narratively, it would make no sense to have Gohan be put to his Mystic form levels of power back on Namek, but the implications are still kinda messy

Is potential meaningless in dragon ball? Do people just have 'more potential' as they grow?

Also even after Gohan supposedly hit his limit with the Mystic form, the superhero movie just asspulls another form that is stronger than MUI Goku? So wtf?

Why did Piccolo make it out to be that Gohans mystic form is his true limit before the TOP just for that to be retconned and for Gohan to say "oh Ive been doing some training, now I have even more potential than I did the first two times I got it unlocked".

Can someone explain this to me?

Does anybody else feel like there are no stakes in DBS?

I remember the feeling of terror in every arc of DBZ, all those arcs did an incredible job of making things feel hopeless.

Nappa got onto the battlefield and immediately started dropping heads, nobody stood a chance and when Piccolo died it seemed hopeless

Then Goku showed up and things seemed like they were hopeful.

Then Vegeta transformed into a great ape and things were hopeless again

Then Krillin tossed the spirit bomb and they finally won

Namek saga was probably the best at this. Every new obstacle felt impossible to overcome, when Krillin and Gohan ventured out into Namek and they explained that everyone here was stronger than Vegeta was, you could literally feel the tension and wonder how they were going to get out of these situations, especially since Goku wasnt there

Sometimes they didnt, Vegeta kicked the hell out of Gohan and Recoome nearly killed all 3 of them

And dont even get me started on Frieza and his seemingly neverending transformations

Comparitively, DBS just feels like a fun time, Ive never once felt any stakes in the show, except for that time when Frieza blew up the Earth. Like in the TOP, we all knew Goku was going to 'limit break' and beat up Jiren in the end. And thats exactly what happened

Is there no real feeling of dread in DBS anymors or am I just tripping?

Im currently building a pc and wish to get games like cod to work online with a pirated version (I dont wanna spend full price on steam just for the next cod to come around)

Need a GPU recommendation for this rig

So I kinda got pressured by the RAM-doomer crowd/newegg prices to but a CPU bundle because it came with RAM and a motherboard

So far the parts I have assembled for my build are:

RX 9600x cpu

MSI Pro B650-s Wifi AM5 motherboard

16 gig DDR5 corsair RAM 2 × 8

ASrock challenger CL-750g 750W PSU

Kingspec xg gen 4 1TB SSD NVME

(Total of these was slightly under 700 USD minus the delivery costs)

So for the parts I have remaining its just the gpu, case and cooler

My main concern is the GPU. Thinking about maybe gettint a 9060xt since that seems to be the best price per dollar I can to match these parts, but maybe Ill wait to see if I can find a 9070xt on sale. Not really a big fan of nvidia cuz its more overpriced

Drop some recommendations for the GPU (but I would also appreciate some case recommendations)

Worth buying a used PC as my first?

I really want a PC but taking one look at the current prices of parts (specifically RAM and memory) are really putting me off

People used to recommend 32 gig DDR5 as something every new build should have as its the sweetspot, now even youtubers are advising people to buy used 16 gigs of DDR5 or even downgrading to DDR4

Atp, should I just buy a used PC off of facebook marketplace? What are the pros and cons of doing so?

Can Kylian Mbappe win the 2026 ballon dor?

Harry Kane

Messi

Mbappe

Rodri

Lamine Yamal

These seem to be the most talked about for the 2026 ballon dor, if it is purely PR then the favorites are either of the spanish players, arguably Messi once the initial heat of the final dies down

Mbappe was top scorer in the UCL, La Liga, and WC, breaking all time goal scoring records in only 3 campaigns.

I feel like Harry Kane is the favorite but this may be Mbappes last shot at the ballon dor and I do feel that if he wins it, it would be well deserved

Tanky/support/stall regigigas viable in UU?

Roast me if this is bad idea, but Im trying some trash pokemon in higher tiers. Regigigas is garbage normally but what about a tanky set with things like protect/substitute, rest, thunder wave, and maybe knock off if he survives 5 turns?

Thinking of running it with maybe the lum berry, bold nature

Why is this sub so divided on dupes/ME's? What makes them so controversial

Under one single thread discussing dupes, you will find:

  1. Comments that hate dupes and say everyone who cannot buy them are poor and coping with having a dupe

  2. Comments that hate on the first people and say dupes are incredible and that 300 dollars for a perfume is a scam

  3. People who say both have their place but they lean more towards one side of the spectrum (dupe or designer) than the other. (This seems to be a minority on this sub from what Ive seen)

Other fragrance communities/subreddits seem to be one of these 3 people but in this sub you will find posts of all these types, and in the comments you will find all 3 of these people where the upvotes/downvotes could literally be anything

What gives?

Unpopular opinion: Dupes/ME fragrances get way too much hate here

I see the same opinion on this sub all the time, probably from people who have sunk too much money into designers and niche frags

"Dupes are trash! They suck and I hate them! I'd rather just save up for the OG, 99.999% of dupes are garbage!"

If you sincerely believe dupes have no place in this world, go ask 100 people to sample your favorite designer or niche fragrance. They may like them, they may even love them.

Then ask them if they are willing to pay the associated price for a 100 mL bottle.

Not one, I repeat, not one of them would say yes.

This has been my own case with designers.

I buy them and I simply cannot enjoy them because of the price tag that is attached to it. I feel I have to use it to get my moneys worth but I also shouldnt use too much because its wasteful

Dupes can smell incredible in their own right if they come from a reputable brand i.e Lattafa or French Avenue. Sure they arent what influencers make them up to be, but 30-40 dollars for a good fragrance is a steal. I certainly would not fork over 10x the price for a similar (albeit better) scent/longevity/projection if I can help it. Its simply not worth the tradeoff

Also with dupes/ME's you can have alot of them and build a variety of scents. For designers and especially niche you will have to spend alot more for the same variety, and often times you'll just end up smelling like everyone else. Most people I know who arent fragheads rock Sauvage, SWYI, Y edp, or something similar

To the "make hijrah" crowd: where do you want Muslims to go?

There is no caliphate anymore, so no place for Muslims to get a citizenship based on their religious affiliation.

The first place these people point to is the GCC i.e Saudi, Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain etc

There is no 'hijrah system' set in place in these countries. In fact, most of them actively stop non nationals from moving there and getting a visa, let alone a passport.

If you go to the GCC as a non Arab, its hard enough to get a worker visa, but if you do get it you have to go through the challenges of living as a second class citizen, maintaining the visa, and supporting your family on a likely lower wage.

And when its finished they will kick you out anyways back to the west or wherever you came from. Thats not hijrah, thats a contract

The next option is the Muslim countries outside the gulf, i.e Syria, Pakistan, Palestine. Lets be honest, these countries are not suitable/safe for living in anymore. Its why most Muslims in the west immigrated in the first place: to escape the oppression and terror there.

Who knows the next time these countries will be attacked by the 'freedom' people anyways?

Tell me what is left? The rich Muslim countries dont want us, and the poor Muslim countries are not capable of keeping us. So where do you want us to make hijrah? If you have an alternative where all Muslims in the west can go get a citizenship and not be treated as second class, please tell me now.
