Why is this subreddit so toxic?

This is a game. The entire point of it is to have fun together. To share ideas, collaborate, and create stories.

But half the time, when I come onto this subreddit, people asking for help or brainstorming are treated like they committed some kind of offense, myself included. Instead of collaboration, it becomes gatekeeping. Instead of creativity, it becomes “you’re playing wrong.”

For a hobby built on imagination and cooperative storytelling, this community can be strangely hostile to people who are just excited to create.

I just watched Rocky for the first time and I am not sure how I feel about then end (and it is not because...

....Rocky Lost)

Before people say, “You missed the point,” no, I absolutely understand the point of Rocky. I know the movie was not about Rocky officially winning the fight. The whole point was that he went the distance with Apollo Creed and proved something to himself by staying on his feet for all 15 rounds. I fully understand that and I actually think it’s a great ending.

And to be clear, I actually LIKE that neither fighter got knocked out. I think both men lasting the full 15 rounds is the perfect ending for the story. I don’t think Rocky should have suddenly knocked Apollo out or anything like that.

I also understand that Apollo DID deserve to win under actual boxing rules. He clearly looked like the better boxer for most of the fight, probably landed more hits overall, and Rocky got knocked down more than Apollo did. I’m not arguing that Rocky somehow objectively outboxed him.

My problem is more with HOW the victory is decided. Something about “three judges watching from outside the ring decide who wins” just feels strange and artificial to me compared to the basic idea of fighting. Even though the judges were correct, it still feels less satisfying to me than a result decided more directly by what happened in the ring itself.

If the result had been based more directly on something tangible in the fight itself — like total punches landed, knockdowns, damage done, etc. — I honestly would have zero problem with Apollo winning. In fact, I’d probably agree with it. Apollo clearly controlled more of the fight.

But at the same time, boxing isn’t like figure skating, where judging presentation and overall performance is part of the entire sport. I know boxing judges are supposed to score things like effectiveness, control, defense, and clean punches — not just “style points” or appearances — but it still feels different to me because boxing fundamentally feels like a direct physical contest between two people. So even when the judges are probably correct, there’s still something about outside observers deciding the winner that feels less definitive to me than the fight itself deciding it.

But even understanding that, it still felt weird to me that the final winner was decided by three guys sitting outside the ring watching the fight. That part feels strangely artificial to me compared to the basic idea of boxing itself.

At its core, boxing feels like it should be about “can you stop the other guy,” and if neither guy can do that, then things start feeling less definitive to me when the outcome comes down to subjective judging.

Again, I’m NOT saying Rocky should have officially won. I completely understand why Apollo won under boxing rules, and I understand the actual message of the movie. I just personally find judge-based victories less satisfying than victories decided more directly inside the ring itself.

Anyway, I am not looking to start a fight with anybody, I am just sharing my opinion.

Overall it was a great movie.

What is everybodys favorite scene in the series?

I liked it when Larry first showed up, and the demons were all "Motion to spare Larry" and "Motion to hug Larry", while Vale just got more frustrated.

He arrives at college with a big box full of all the toys and he meets his roommate. The he empties the toys on the ground. The roommate just stares at him before pulling out of box of his own and dumping out a whole bunch of his toys on the floor. They look at each other and say:

"Lets do this."

Cut to them playing with those toys like andy did when he was little and them pretending they are at a big party.
