Ik heb een erg belangrijke plant staan die mijn opa aan mijn oma heeft gegeven vlak voor zijn overlijden. De plant (philondendron) is nu 40 jaar oud. Het is de mooiste plant die ik heb door zijn betekenis in onze familie. Nu ligt hij echter op sterven: hij zit volledig onder de trips (dat denk ik tenminste). Ik zie nergens volwassen beestjes, maar alle bladeren zitten onder de puntjes en de hele plant sterft af en alle bladeren worden volledig bruin en vallen uit. Er is weinig meer van de plant over, waar deze het altijd extreem goed deed (hij staat nog steeds op dezelfde plek al 40 jaar lang).

Hoe pak ik dit het beste aan? Voor rouwvliegjes haalde ik altijd aaltjes, want die eitjes zaten gewoon in de bodem van de grond. Maar het ding is dat ik hierbij alleen maar dingen op de bladeren zelf zie zitten. Hebben jullie tips? Mijn hart zou echt breken als deze plant het niet overleeft.

Ik ben op het moment De Daltons (Villa Achterwerk) aan het terugkijken via De Schatkamer. Ik begrijp dat er uiteraard nostalgie bij komt kijken, maar deze serie is echt kwaliteit. Alles is zo rauw en echt. Er gebeurt eigenlijk helemaal niks, maar toch is het interessant. Ik kom echt helemaal terug in hoe de wereld toen was.

Ik herinner me ook nog de series Madelief en Zaai en films zoals In Oranje. En Ik ben Willem. Zelfs op Nickelodeon toentertijd waren er programma’s als As Told by Ginger en The Wild Thornberries, die toch best slow tv waren en op het gevoel. Zulke dingen worden naar mijn weten ook niet meer gemaakt nu. Uiteraard zijn dat cartoons en niet uit Nederland. Ik denk dat als ik die shows nu zou terugkijken ik nog heel geboeid zou zijn, waar alles nu geschreeuw is en kinderen continu geprikkeld moeten worden.

Voor mijn gevoel bestaan series zoals De Daltons, Zaai en Madelief in ieder geval niet meer voor kinderen van nu. Alles moet nu snel en stel je voor dat een kind zelf iets moet invullen of er stiltes vallen. Of heb ik het dan mis? Overigens ook benieuwd naar jullie mening als jullie het hebben teruggekeken :-)

Ik vond het even slikken toen ik zag dat de eerste aflevering van De Daltons uitkwam in november 1999. En ik kan me ook alleen maar afvragen hoeveel dat huis toen waard was versus nu :’)

Ik vind het altijd zo leuk om een kijkje te krijgen in mensen hun tuin. Dus voor de mensen die geen hele post willen wijden aan foto’s van hun tuin: wat is jouw mooiste kiekje?

I just keep wondering two things: 1) why did the stone get transferred to Hogwarts, when it was stored at a place where there was never broken into before, and 2) why could the stone get destroyed immediately at the end of the book but not before? Would have saved a lot of effort.

So for the first one, the stone was stored at Gringotts. There was never broken into before and it was the safest place in the whole wizarding world to store something. Before Gringotts, it was stored at Flamel’s which you could see in Fantastic Beasts. Not sure when the stone was transferred to Gringotts, but let’s say it was already there for years. Quite weird to move it from the safest place on earth, and also to let it get moved with Harry Potter. Weird choices.

For the second one, I don’t understand why at the end suddenly arrangements can be made and it’s better to destroy the stone as a whole. Why not decide this when it was still at Gringotts and instead of bringing it to Hoghwarts, destroy it.

Ofcourse I understand both things were necessary for the story. But for me those just don’t make sense and are two really big random errors which I don’t find that big in the books after that.

Something I keep noticing is that their clothes disappear when they turn into mermaids, but when they arrive at Mako and are in the cave they are fully clothed again. It’s a bit weird, but okay I guess that’s just magic since it’s on their body.

But what about their cellphones? Especially a scene where Cleo calls Lewis on the beach and a second later she dives into the ocean off to Mako. And I’m sure there are a lot of other scenes where they have their phone on Mako?

Opmerking: ik weet niet of dit in deze sub thuishoort. Ik heb alleen geen zin om het in een algemene Nederlandse sub te plaatsen en 50 comments te krijgen over dat ik te gevoelig ben. Ik vraag me namelijk echt af hoe dit legaal kan zijn, aangezien dit gewoon als uitbuiting/dierenmishandeling voelt. Ik zou gewoon graag iets willen betekenen voor deze dieren.

Ik ben er afgelopen week achter gekomen dat er een soort varkenshouderij vlakbij mijn huis zit. Ik volg veel “pig sanctuaries” online die varkens redden van de slacht, en voor één seconde had ik de hoop dat dit hetzelfde was. Vandaar zocht ik het op, maar toen brak mijn hart. Het kwam erop neer dat het varkens zijn die naar de slacht gaan. Dat vind ik al verschrikkelijk, maar hier zat een extra uitbuit element bij van baby varkentjes die mij gewoon niet loslaat.

Het komt erop neer dat er varkens worden gefokt als een gek. De moeders staan vast in mini kooien en de baby varkentjes worden na geboorte dezelfde dag al weggehaald…om te fungeren als attractie voor mensen. Biggetjes knuffelen. Mensen geven hier bakken met geld aan uit. In de paar recensies van mensen met gezond verstand (dat wat laat kwam, maar goed) las ik dat de biggetjes schreeuwen en gillen en bibberen van de kou. Ook stonk het er immens. De biggetjes die ‘s nachts worden geboren worden dezelfde dag al gebruikt als attractie. Ze worden gewoon in bakken gegooid en bij de mensen neergegooid. Ik vind gillende biggetjes een van de meest verschrikkelijke dingen die er zijn. Ze zijn gewoon net geboren en worden al uitgebuit. Dat ze uiteindelijk naar de slacht gaan en in die mini hokken vastzitten is al erg genoeg, maar dat je zelfs nog extra geld wil binnenharken om ze direct na geboorte bij mensen te gooien gaat nog een stap verder. Ik vind het zo erg en het laat me niet los.

Echt, wat voor volk gaat hierheen. En dan 5 sterren reviews achterlaten hoe leuk en schattig het was. “Superleuke ervaring.” Ik kan er niet bij. En dan daarna nog een worst-maak workshop doen en er vlees bij halen. Vlees eten is iedereens eigen keuze, maar hoe voelt het niet dubbel om dat na zo iets te doen? Ik wil op z’n minst dat al het “vlees” niet driedubbel wordt uitgebuit.

Is dit nou legaal? En zo ja, hoe kan dat ooit in een land als Nederland. Je zou hier toch melding van moeten kunnen maken?

Mijn hond is 15 en heeft veel krachtverlies in zijn achterpoten. Vandaag waren we bij de dierenarts, toen zij opeens voorstelde hem anabolen te geven. Daarmee zou hij minder door zijn poten moeten zakken en zijn spieren moeten behouden. Ik wist niet dat dit bestond lol; een hond aan de anabolen. Benieuwd of het gaat helpen.

Ik dacht ik maak even een andere post dan over de hitte.

I’m rewatching the show and watching S3 for the first time. I’m confused. I thought Will and Rikki were being soflaunched as a couple, because we got a lot of hints from Will (not from Rikki, but I thought that would come later on). But…there isn’t anything going on with them? Suddenly out of nowhere he likes Bella? I’m so confused.

Like I get that Bella went all crazy for him and sometimes he was okay with that, but he was never into her? Not once did I see a look on his face or chemistry or not once did something happen that gave a spark or showed us that he did like her romantically. Bella was just interested in him, and suddenly out of nowhere when we’re halfway into the season he’s also into her without any notice lol. There was not one shifting point where we saw Will falling in love and nothing even happened between them.

With Rikki and Will on the other hand, there really was a shifting moment in their story and I really felt their chemistry. I think it literally already started in the first episode, where Rikki spotted Will working in his boat and they had a short interaction. The couple of episodes after that, Rikki kind of not wanted him around was understandable because of their secret and also she was with Zane so there was no interest in another guy. But it does make a good love story that they went from no interest to the chemistry they really did have.

The shift happened when Rikki saves Will when he almost drowned. You literally see and feel that Will sees her in another light. He literally looks in love that whole episode? Why was that if there was no story about them? But yeah, he looks in love, he even asks about her to the girls and just doesn’t care about Bella just like all the other episodes. WHY are they giving the vibes that Will likes her with all the shots that they edited and the look on his face. Also, the episode after that he compliments the way Rikki looks when she walks down the stairs. I really thought this was a softlaunch. Why were these scenes even there if there was no point for them?

Ofcourse after all that Zane lets Rikki down in multiple ways and their relationship is already emotionally over, but Will literally stepped in and pushed above and beyond to show up for her and he even was the only one that came to the moonpool so save Rikki. Rikki really needed to see that someone did that all for her, instead of Zane doing nothing and hating her mermaid part. Also the only time we see Will having a personality and stand up to his sister is when his sister kisses Zane. Will really gets mad for Rikki.

With Will and Rikki it was really about Rikki (not about her being a mermaid), there was chemistry and such a good storyline about falling in love. I also really liked the fact that Rikki is kind of dominant/masculine and Will is more submissive. Would’ve been really nice to see that sorr of relationship.

It’s not that I wanted them together. I don’t ever ship characters, I just watch the show. It’s literally what the show pushed onto me into believing and then it wasn’t even a storyline. It’s so random. What do you guys think?

So both where on sale where I live and the gen 3 was almost priced the same as the 2, so obviously I was going to buy that one. But the day I decided, the sale was gone :’) Now there is a €150 price difference between the two. Would you guys say that amount is worth it?

Is the 3 really that much better than the 2? Or should I go for the 2 with that prince range, since it’s also really good? I can’t really figure out the differences and if €150 difference is worth those upgrades.

The Ultra Gen 2 is €350 and the 3 is €500.
