What was your first exposure to Transformers?

What was your first exposure to Transformers?

I’m pretty sure this has already been discussed on the subreddit before, but I’m curious, how did you all get into the world of Transformers?

Back in 2007-2007

my first exposure came from a fast-food kiddie meal toy here in my country. It was a Beast Wars toy. I remember being fascinated by it transforming from a gorilla into a robot. My first reaction was basically, “Wow, this is cool.”

One Year Later

After attending chuch, my dad would take me to the movie theater. he brought me to watch a brand-new movie about giant robots from outer space that protect humanity. At first, I thought it sounded pretty interesting but simple. Then he mentioned that these robots could also transform into cars and that caught my attention (Because I’m obsessed with cars at the time)

The first time I saw Blackout’s transformation scene in Qatar during the opening of the movie, it completely blew my mind. It was honestly kind of scary for me at the time. After that, the rest of the movie just stuck with me. I can’t help but fall in love with the cinematography, the actions, the soundtrack, the characters, the setting. Everything about transformers 2007 is perfect.

Then the rest became history, not only I fell in love with the Michael bay’s transformers movie, I also got into the prime series, the high moon Cybertron games, Transformers animated series and of course G1.

I know a lot of people here aren’t fans of Michael Bay, and some might call me a “Bay glazer,” but that’s fine.

Say what you want about him as a director, but he was the one who introduced me to the world of Transformers. Without his movies, I honestly might not have cared about Transformers at all.

So what about you all? How did you get into Transformers? What was your first exposure?

What was your first exposure to the burnout series?

I’m pretty sure this has already been discussed before, but I still wanted to ask:

What was your first exposure to the Burnout series?

For me, I still remember how excited I was when I finally got a PSP. I desperately wanted a racing game that would keep me entertained for hours, and the moment I saw Burnout Legends at a mall store, I immediately knew that was the game I wanted.

The first time I played it, I remember thinking it felt similar to one of those crazy arcade racing games I used to see at amusement centers the kind where people scream whenever you crash into something 😭

Then later on, I found out that Burnout was actually inspired by the Japanese arcade game Thrill Drive, which honestly surprised me a lot.

So now I’m curious what’s your story? How did you first get introduced to Burnout?

What was your first exposure to Silent Hill?

For me, I was first introduced to it through Silent Hill: Revelation. Yeah, I know the movie is terrible 😭 but without it, I probably never would’ve discovered Silent Hill in the first place.

Back then, I really wanted to get into the series, but I was way too much of a scaredy-cat to actually play the games, and I also couldn’t afford a proper console. So most of my experience came from watching gameplay on YouTube.

Now that I’m older, I finally decided to revisit the franchise especially after learning that Guillermo del Toro is a huge fan of the series and that he and Hideo Kojima were originally supposed to make their own Silent Hill game before it got cancelled by Konami.

And when I found out the series was heavily inspired by Twin Peaks (Respect to Sir David Lynch) which is one of my favorite shows ever that’s when I became even more interested.

The first Silent Hill game I actually played was Silent Hill 2, and that game completely changed my perspective on horror games.

So yeah, that’s my story. What about you guys? How did you first get into Silent Hill?

Hello, I’m new here.

I just wanted to say that I’m really glad to be here because I finally found a group of people who are genuinely interested in Twisted Metal.

I’ve always wanted to play the games ever since I got introduced to Twisted Metal, but I never really had the chance because I couldn’t afford a PS3 or any PlayStation console growing up (except for the PSP). On top of that, my parents were really strict, so they definitely wouldn’t let me play violent video games like Twisted Metal. Because of that, I mostly just watched clips and lore videos on YouTube to understand the characters, stories, and themes that gave me this weird morbid curiosity about the franchise.

Now that I’m older, hearing that there was going to be a Twisted Metal adaptation made me both excited and nervous. I honestly thought it wouldn’t capture the darker and more mature tone of games like Twisted Metal: Black and the 2012 reboot, but I’m glad the show proved me wrong. The series ended up being genuinely fun and enjoyable, and I finally finished Season 2.

So now here I am writing this after finishing it. I really want to revisit the franchise properly and finally dive into the games myself. What always fascinated me about Twisted Metal especially Black and 2012 was the atmosphere, themes, and stories behind the characters. For some reason, it also reminds me a lot of Death Race and Gamer.

Since most of you guys are way more experienced with the franchise than I am, where do you think a newcomer like me should start? Which Twisted Metal game would you personally recommend first?

I’ll forever mourn for this casting

(I know most of you probably aren't fans of this fancast, but I just wanted to share my thoughts.)
Honestly, I'm happy for the actress who's going to play Max Caulfield in the live-action Life Is Strange adaptation.
But at the same time, I'll always be a little sad about the missed potential of Emma Myers playing Max.
For me, She just has the charm, the awkward energy, and even the look that I always imagined for the character.
Honestly (I even remember her interview where her dream role was to play as Max Caulfield (o)
We know that Emma is never gonna play Max, and that's fine because to me, she'll always remind me of Max Caulfield.
Maybe someday she'll get another role with a similar vibe. I know she's playing Pippa in A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, but l'd genuinely love to see her take on more roles with that kind of personality and emotional depth.
(I had to repost this again because it's got removed)

List of cars that I would love to see in the next need for speed games

I’m pretty sure most of you already made this kind of post

And I know that Toyota won’t be in the next nfs game

And I know that we possibly might not get another nfs game knowing EA probably put this franchise on life support

But I’m just here to share my list of cars that I wanna see in the next nfs game if there’s a chance

I’m sure some of you might recognize the cars since they appeared in the previous need for speed games

I just wanna see these cars again

Anyway, enjoy.

Seriously, what’s are your wishlist of cars you wanna see in the next nfs game?

I made this Subaru as a tribute to Ken block

I made this as a tribute to Ken Block since it’s been a few years since we lost him.

It’s still sad knowing that such a legend is gone, the guy gave us some of the most iconic drifting videos ever made, from racing through the streets of San Francisco to creating such unforgettable Gymkhana moments that inspired so many car guys like all of us here around the world.

Rest in peace, Ken. Your legacy will never be forgotten.

P.S.

I decided to post this here instead of r/NFSRides since I thought it might get a bit more attention. What do you guys think?

Did I do justice to Ken Block’s livery, or nah? I tried my best to make it feel like a respectful tribute.

What’s do you guys think of this game?

I remember playing it a lot on my cousin’s PC back then, and honestly it was one of the most fun racing experiences I had at the time. It was pretty much the main racing game I played since I couldn’t afford Need for Speed: Shift.

I was surprised to find out that it’s available on Steam now. For those of you who’ve played it recently, what do you think? Has the game aged well, or not?

I’m still hesitant about buying it. It’s a nostalgic game yes but it has lack of content compared to other games like Need for Speed: Underground 1 and 2.

What’s do you guys think?

u/Brosamurai18 — 12 days ago

No, like seriously.

P.S. Any Hot Wheel collector who can recognize this el Camino, You have great taste.

u/Brosamurai18 — 16 days ago

I know this probably fits better in r/NFSRides, but I still wanted to share my collection with you guys here, I’m hoping it might get some attention. What do you think?

u/Brosamurai18 — 19 days ago

I made these thumbnails a few months back, and I just wanted to get your thoughts on them, what do you guys think?

Now that we’ve talked about the worst body kits in the Need for Speed franchise, what are your favorites?

Which body kits do you think are the most iconic or best-looking in the series, and why?

u/Brosamurai18 — 21 days ago

I’ve been playing some Need for Speed games again, and I couldn’t help but cringe at some of the body kits. It got me thinking, what are the worst body kits in the Need for Speed franchise?

I already have my own picks, but I’m curious, what do you guys think?

u/Brosamurai18 — 22 days ago

I’ve made this based on the Hot Pursuit Version.

P.S. I know somewhere down the comments, a guy is just gonna say “Nice” and leave
