Business closing down and redundancy right before child is due, how does it affect parental leave and scholarships.

It's about 10-12 weeks before my child is due and the place my partner (female) has suddenly closed down with no chance of reopening. They are already sending out redundancy paperwork. We got 2 hours notice.

We are a small business in NSW, but they employ thousands of staff members under the same name at different locations.

My partner has a scholarship that requires her to work in the field and now the nearest place she can work at is 400km round trip away.

Seller claims not possible to edit refund amount on their side, customer service tells me only the seller can change the refund amount.

2 weeks ago I received an android stereo for my car from AliExpress for about $260 AUD. After the installation of the stereo I checked the settings of the unit to find they had sent me a model with lower ram and storage than I had picked.

I messaged the seller letting them know I received a lesser unit than what I had ordered and asked if I could keep the stereo and receive a partial refund because I didn't want to wait another few weeks for a replacement unit.

The seller has agreed that they will give me a 50% refund totaling $130 AUD instead of having me ship the unit back to them. The seller has told me it's not possible to give a partial refund on their side through AliExpress because there's a buyer protection period that only allows for me to ship the item back.

I started the refund process with the help of customer service. Customer service were able to change it to a partial refund, however it only shows as $31.85 cents. The seller has asked me to wait 2 months until the "dispute protection" runs out and they will manually refund me.

I have attached a photo of the screenshot the seller keeps sending me. Telling me to wait so they can manually refund me.

Customer service keeps telling me they will look into it and then emails me 48 hours later saying the seller can change the refund amount, then the seller tells me it's not possible. I'm quickly running out of days before my return/refund timer runs out and I'll probably end up being stuck with the cheaper product at full price.

I have asked AliExpress customer service to do a manual refund of 50% or force the seller to do so. But I'm not holding out any hope.

I considered opening up a claim with PayPal, but I don't want my AliExpress account banned unless it's the very last option.

I just don't want to get scammed any further.

What exactly am I supposed to do as my next step ?

I have just received this android headunit off AliExpress, the seller claims it has android auto but it doesn't. (8gb ram).

I have a stereo the same as this (different seller 4gb ram model) that had Tlink5 for android auto installed and seemingly works well.

Is it as simple as downloading a Tlink5 APK on the stereo and installing it ?
