[17f] broke my laptop of 16.5 years.

Pata hai aaj kya hua?

not today but yesterday.

i've spent all my days with this laptop and this one knows every of my secrets. with years, it has turned more like my sibling. for some months, the hinge between the monitor and keyboard was disturbed and yesterday it finally came off. the wires are visible and i'm really glad for the laptop is still working. i just need to stack a lotta books now.

previous year my parents suggested me of buying so, but i denied cause within some years i would need one according to my demand... for my clg and work. but, it was more of a bond, i would say.

i can't help but feel sad . this is more like me sister being injured and i don't know how to explain this, i still use a samsung duos of 2013, i don't know why i grow this kinda bonds with all my electronic devices ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

[17f] Broke my laptop of 16.5 years, is there still any hope left ?

hi folks, i'm in class 12, and i just use this laptop to attend class and moderate teen subs. i don't play games or do other stuffs.. I really didn't feel like i needed one cause it's working totally fine despite my parent's insistence. after this year i'd get a new one according to my requirements,so i simply denied. i guess it's more of a bond that i've grown up with it , it knows all about me like it;s my own sibling.

so for the last few months, it's hinge between the monitor and the keyboard was disturbed. but yesterday, it broke completely. the wires are visible, and i'm glad that it's still working. but i just need to stack a lotta books behind it to support it's monitor. also, i've stored all my important data in memory cards and disks.

so my concern is that would any tech shop aid me to repair this so that at least i can use it for the upcoming 8-9 months?

fyi, i'm from sub urbs, living nearby kolkata,.. if anyone knows such a shop in kolkata can inform me.

Why is this sub filled with so many irrelevant stuffs?

like bro every other day there's posts of someone wearing a basic outfit, while there are literally so many fashion subs.

show me your bag collections, show me your jewelries.

like a makeup pouch is understandable, where you bought it from, but seriously i don't understand why people be posting everything of their life.

also some people post about fragrances, i find that a little bit problematic. though body odor is a part of body care, i understand.

also this sub is poorly moderated, creeps lurk around and leave nasty comments on posts. mods seem to be too lazy.

To all the people complaining about removals of eggs from mid day meal menu

I've gone and go to government schools and let me tell you this : previously, even when the eggs were given, that was just once a week. that too scratched, and sometimes not even properly boiled. except Wednesdays ( we were given eggs on that day in our school), there used to be very poor quality meals as well. getting a scrap of soybean was like once in blue moon ; let's not talk about the hygiene and other corruptions here.

I was in class 8 back in 2022,(only till class 8 mid day meal is provided, but you could take the veg with your roti or muri if you wanted to after that, at least in our school). so when we were in class 9 they started providing chicken once a week, but that too paused after happening for 1 months.

so the thing is this : with iskon taking over the menu, it will worsen, but not much cause it was damaged from the beginning like this.

**they never wanted our development, they just want to take credit with the fact that they feed hundreds of children.

this scheme is to fill the stomachs, not to fulfill their nutritional needs.**

i hope that they don't take over the ongonwaris, they give half eggs everyday there. that's what i can say.

also on a side note, i would like to say that in my place ( a sub urban one) most kids didn't take the food provided from schools, most of it was wasted. {in my and all neighboring schools} now, i can't tell about extreme rural places. i think, the stats would be different for there.

so people asking about the development of the children, i have a question - how many grams of protein did the children get from an egg once in a week? even the rice they provided us was too poor in quality. nothing will change.

suggest some healthy snacks.

hello folks there, i'm in 12th grade right now, and within sometimes i've my exams also in the upcoming year, i'll have my entrance exams. so, i've to burn the midnight oil almost everyday. but while studying, i get hungry especially in midnight; making coffee or tea takes a bit time so i prefer not to do so ( sometimes while taking a break i do).

since i don't go out much ( i don't like to either, it has turned into a habit), there's no question of burning much calories. i am trying to not gain weight anymore, my bmi is borderline.

i take sprouts in morning, i have thought of making smoky almonds ( but our microwave is not working for past month, duhh :((( )

edit : sometimes eat makhana as well, but they are costly ..

i would be grateful to you if you suggest some healthy, and tasty snacks for my midnight cravings :)
