Don't you think quota system very negatively impacts on an intelligent student coming from a sc/st background?

I am a girl child born into a brahmin family. Since very childhood, I started questioning about the existence of God and since I used to read a lot of books and history used to be in class 3-4, I was acquainted to the ' barnashram '

My parents never refrained themselves from talking /explaining about this human made caste things. And when I grew up a little bit, i discovered about this quota systems while searching about exams and all.

I was kinda disappointed, I never supported this division among Hindus, but I was enraged. Till that day, when I was told that " you don't have to worry much, you're a female and they've reservation for girls in jee adv" by a fellow male student coming from the general category.

It hit me hard. So, there would be like a 100 of peeps like him when I get into a top institution, and they'd mock me that I got it because of reservation?

Let me also tell that in jee and all the competitive exams, even a single mistake can change your percentile. But just committing only one question wrong no where makes you less intelligent than the others who got 1-2% more than you.. and guess what ? There are like hundreds of people who are dismissed like that !

Even in my own family some relatives say that " he got only because of reservation " but when I dive down I see that it's only the difference of 1-2 %.

It kinda hurts me..

And also the " General" category peeps won't ask you for your rank or percentile, they'd just see your name and say " oh you got cause you're a girl " or " oh you're from the sc/st community right ?"

Successful ambitious working/ enterpreneur women there, how did you deal with " you're a woman so you don't need to work hard?"

I grew up as a single child of working parents, with a background of strong and stable income.

Back in my early teenage days, some would go like " you don't have to worry about anything.. you parents are working, you'll get married according to your class, so you don't have to think and take much responsibilities. " I heard such type of phrases frequently.

Now, i didn't take much tuitions before 10, and i confronted the reality while attending tuitions in class 11. So, I do well in studies comparatively than most others in my area, and achieve the best all most every time.

So there was this maths teacher who would be like to us ( a female friend of mine who is pretty much good at studies and comes of strong wealth ) " you don't need to think much , you're girls.. you won't have to take responsibility or work hard... Look at the boys, how much stress they've to go through, you won't need to face them. Boys have to take care of their wives too, so they need to study for their future wife "

We were very much pissed off.

Also like " girls are bad at maths, they only memorise things, nothing else " (Mind you, i obtained a perfect 100 on my own in class 10 boards in maths and I used to do maths on my own, no one guided me and the teacher was astonished for he couldn't insult the teacher, he had an obsession of putting other teachers down)

I've left that tuition now, for simply he was too misogynistic, also didn't teach well. But in the upcoming life, I can't run away things from like that.

Women out there , who are in the work field, especially in higher positions, and pursuing higher education, how did you deal with these mosquitos ?

Should we be optimistic or pessimistic ?

I mean, just cause you change your cloth on your body, doesn't mean your body has changed the soul, right ?

For every adult individual, males and females and others, should there be no names enlisted as guardian ?

i mean there should be an individual section for mother and father's name. but not enlisting as guardian. Also, after marriage the guardian name changes from her father to her husband, for a girl. i'm strongly agianst that.

And i think, for minors, there should be the section where both parents name should be written.

It was 7 years back, when I just got into my high school, making new friends and doing homework like an obedient kid. So,there was this women teacher in English who asked us to write a letter to friends describing something (i don't remember).

So in my friends group, everyone's parents are working. For me and a friend , both of our dads stay away from us for their job. I wrote to that friend, but in the C/O section i put her mum's name, cause her dad was there in the country borderline, protecting us. How could the letter reach my friend when i put his name on the letter and i mean, both had different adress. When i showed it to my mam, she got pissed off. Eventually threw off my notebook, shouting at a 9 year old kid : "DO YOU NOT EVEN HAVE A BASIC SENSE ? DADS ARE THE CARE TAKERS. THE HOMES ARE IN THEIR NAME !!!"

MY LITTLE MIND COULDN'T PROCEED IT. SIMPLY.

tried explaining her in a polite voice, she didn't listen to me. Later, i came crying to mum ( i'm a very vulnerable person) and she just looked at me and said nothing. She couldn't explain it to me like that , to a kid. She consoled me : " Everyone's lucky in different terms.. your father brings you imported chocolate thrice a year, and your friends get lodgens everyday" ( i kinda hate this statment now )

Then as I grew up , I got the responsibility of filling up forms on my own. So, once I put the name of my mum's name and number in the guardians place.. And the teacher was like "Is your dad dead ? "

Happened to me a lot of times. Also, my mum got job before her marriage, so due to legal changes and other hassles, she didn't take my paternal legacy's surname..

So even sometimes when I fill the name of my mum and they see my and my mum's surnames not matching their expression and behaviour to me gets weird.

I dwell in a sub urban town, where sky scrappers exist, the mind of individuals aren't like that. Very few families are with a working mom. So maybe that's why.

People living in tier 1 and 2 cities , did you feel this behaviour too ?

Reservation in jobs before you educate them.

Making youths lazy and less ambitious. Doesn't that actually lead to less improvement and development of the civilization ?

Not maintaining the hospitals, hiring good stuffs, and defective management system. Then handing the mothers 21,000. Hypocrisy. Don't you think this actually lures people to have more babies ? And cause scarcity and inflation ?

They don't care about the students. No scholarship programmes or enthusiasm.

I mean no party did this, and this won't do anything either.

They will get us stuck in a loop which will make us dependent on them, where we lose our values, morality and notion.

People say they shuts our voice. No they have got cunning and changed their strategy. They're just removing the brains from our skull and the spines from our torso. They want us to go blind. how us what they want to.

HE/SHE WHO STUDIES DIES OF HUNGER

If you study, then you'll have ambitions and wishes. Your somewhat positive ego would come out of you, that will tell you to rely on yourself. You'll look out for jobs, research. But they'll have barely any, and even if they do, those will be superficial and platitudinous. The gaudy culture would outshine your vision. And you'll be there, hungry, crying. Not by the fire of your stomach, but the fire that causes you turmoil and inflicts within yourself, that makes you question, cause you're educated, you're educated for you wanted, to discern the truth, to learn and to value your morality.

EDIT : I MEAN EVERY PARTY, WHOEVER COMES INTO THE POWER, WOULD DO THE SAME.

THEY WON'T BE WITHDRAWING THE FREEBIES NEVER EVER, CAUSE THEY KNOW THEY'LL LOSE VOTES.

So yesterday had been my birthday and today my dad came and we were on a video call with my grandparents. You know they've got old so they wanted to see me. And my grandma called me "you look thinner" (I've stored adipose over the past 2-3 years) and handed the phone to my grandpa. He took the phone , and looked at me. I don't know if it's the light or something, he said " you look very beautiful today "

My dad from beside : "yah next year she'll be turning 18 and we're planning to get her married "

Grandpa straight up said : (in a STFU mode ) "I don't even want to talk with you " (like who the fuck are you when I'm talking to my granddaughter? I don't even know who the hell you're?)

It's kinda ironic cause you know when I had been born 17 years back , he wasn't happy since I was a girl child. But then he accepted gradually, i share one of the strongest bond with him. He calls the eldest granddaughter endearingly "Mohor". (Gold coin ) 🥹 Also it's lowkey a flex cause he says " your dad and uncle knows nothing about lands and golds and investments " and then drags me into conversation on them. 😛

At this point when I'm null, I no longer want to compell him to be with me , i don't seek to do any love spells or anything selfish actually either. I just want to heal myself, get the strength back and be happy myself.

These channels keep popping up in my WhatsApp and I try to report them, but nothing really happens. And mostly from my assumption, these pictures are actually screen shoted from random woman's account.

Eventually in this page you can see there's nothing vulgar written, positive remarks, motivational quotes they put but still they're reacting like this !

u/Common-Stock8623 — 22 days ago

You'll see plenty of comments calling them baddie under a post of someone when they don't have the stereotypical "sanskari" aesthetic. Even in everyday life you'll get compliments from friends if you look hot and beautiful.

But when someone speaks up against something, and gives strong opinion, the room goes silent. You might see hundreds of comments under a feminist reel or that's with strong political/other opinions. But why the surroundings stay silent especially from the girls when it heats up ? Boys try to dismiss you , cursing you , elders call you non sense, dumb , they mock you to be pathetic, you've insecurities .

How many of you actually stand when it's offline? Where does that baddie term go cause you're breaking stereotypes? Maybe you'll just receive a message from a friend of yours (likely to happen once in a blue moon ) " Today you were so strong, I loved your opinion"

Where the fuck were you when I was being called dumb and cursed ? You stayed silent, you didn't have the guts to stand up with me and here you're praising me ? What kinda drama is that ?

Just stop being keyboard warriors. If you can't simply opine with freedom just with the fear that you'll be called bad names I'm sorry, the world of feminism will just be confined in the virtual globe that you're holding in your hands right now.
