Bored as fuck in the hospital. What’s your favourite Jewish food?

I’m okay, but I’ve been here since 10PM last night in order to get a rabies vaccine. I’m very bored. I’m also fond of German-Jewish white bean soup and apple kigel. As for Sephardi food, pescado Frito and keftes de prasa.

Do you have a favourite Jewish food?

EDIT: I’m finally out of here

ULPT: A recipe for green turtle soup.

I'm planning a vacation to the Cayman Islands, where sea turtles are farmed and consumed. I'm planning to get some and make an old-timey English turtle soup, but I can't find a recipe. Any leads?

Planning a weedcation from London, in search of hotels or hostels with private rooms near certain locations in Amsterdam, as well as other recs.

Hello,

I'm thinking of going for a long weekend at some point, focused around cannabis. I'm looking for recommendations for coffeeshops around certain places and ones of note around Amsterdam. Especially ones that sell disposable vapes, or have dab rigs. I don't have full use of my hands and thus can't roll or use a lighter that well. Some of the places I'm looking to visit are.

  • The Portuguese Synagogue
  • The Royal Palace and Huis ten Bosch.
  • Anne Frank house

Also: recommendations for Surinamese food and rijstaffel would be appreciated. Thanks!

Missing my granddad, four years on.

My grandfather (zl) passed away at 97, four years ago. Last night I started thinking about how my future child isn't ever going to meet him. They're not going to hear stories from the old country, hear the songs, or anything like that. What's strange is that it's taken me this long to actually cry about it. I didn't cry when he died, didn't cry at the funeral, nor at the shiva, etc. Why now? I don't know. I just miss him.

Painfully and actively depressed, so here are some of my special interests and hyperfixations.

Judaism (especially Orthodox and hasidic/haredi Judaism), vintage mens clothing and hats, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, sci-fi, and tea/tea culture

Locally owned small resorts/hotels throughout Jamaica.

Hello all,

I am planning to visit Jamaica at some point in the future. I would like to stay at a place owned and operated by Jamaicans, preferably one locals use as well. It can be anywhere in Jamaica because I want to explore a lot of the island, but I definitely want to go to Kingston at some point. It should be near a beach, but that beach needs to be accessible to Jamaicans. I've heard about the government blocking beach access to locals and I don't want to contribute to that. A nearby dispensary would be nice as well.

Thanks!

Would an England-themed kippah be a bit much for the England v Panama match at the pub?

I moved here several months ago and that's the only bit of patriotic clothing I own. I don't want to be seen as pushing my religion on to anyone, even though that's not what it's about.

Carts or oil-can't roll.

Hello,

I am disabled. I have limited use of my hands and can't roll or grind particularly well. I'm eligible for MC due to anxiety and severe ADHD, but flower is hard for me due the aforementioned reasons. Before I moved here I used carts, but I understand that you can only get a certain amount. I'm going to use alternaleaf for MC, which would be the more cost effective way of using MC? How many carts can you get in a standard prescription? What about oil?

Thanks.

I have been able to think of nothing but exotic fruits for the past several days.

This isn't sustainable. I have a family.

Ancestral Halls: What is your experience with them, and how are they used?

I've seen a few photos of them. The concept is really interesting. If you or your family has one that they visit, what's that like?

On November 1, 1929, Haynt ("Today"), a Polish Yiddish newspaper that was then the official organ of the Zionist Organization, published an anti-Bundist cartoon. The Bund is sleeping in bed with an Arab on his head, with the caption: "He's too upset to sleep, he has such a burden on his head."

Would this be an appropriate place to post a short story? (chag sameach btw)

I am currently writing, well-a short story. The title is The Many Third Seders of Bialystok

It's a smaller part of a larger "No Holocaust/no Zionism" worldbuilding project. It is tangentially related to anti-Zionism, but I figured I'd ask beforehand.
