Shipping Lamps with a Shade

Hey all, new here and selling on Etsy to start. Im looking to see how others who sell lamps that have a traditional type shade ship them. I’m thinking they’d have to go into 2 separate packages, right? Because wouldn’t the shade get crushed otherwise? Or do you have them professionally packaged? Or would it be better to just sell them separately? I can’t decide which would be the best way to make sure the shade arrives safely but is also convenient for me. Any tips? Thanks!

Tootie and his photogenic grabbies

Tootie (like two-tee) is my most photogenic rat. And he’s a real sweetheart

Anyone know who may have painted this?

Spotted at the goodwill on Rodi Rd, went past it. Came back to it, held it up, looked at it for a minute. Put it back. Kept thinking about it. Went back, propped it up on my cart and studied it for a bit. Almost put it back. But something about it draws me in and I’m usually someone who prefers more colorful art. Anyway. If anyone might know who the artist is, I’d be interested in finding more of their work. Thanks!

Today’s purchase. What the heck is it?

I tried to figure this out but I’m getting confused. Homestead, Forest Fancies, other, or Frankenstein set? I’m not upset with any of them, just like to know what I have.

I’m drawing a blank. I can’t find info on these bowls anywhere! They’re unmarked Cinderella bowls, 8” and 6” across. I was hoping for opal but I don’t know. Any idea?

I’ve had this little blanket forever. I can’t remember when I got it, but it was definitely before I had kids, and the oldest is soon to be 26. I do remember it was 2nd hand find, pretty sure thrift shop but honestly I could be mistaken. I know nothing about it except that it’s been well loved by myself and whoever had it before. And apparently it’s made by Fufu. But you can see where it’s been mended, it was like that when I got it. If anyone has ever seen this or something like it, please share what you know about it?

Either way I knew this group would appreciate my find

Omg this itching is the worst thing I’ve ever dealt with in my life! I’ve been mainlining Benadryl and slathering clobetasol like it’s vital for survival and I’m still in agony. What are your tips for relief? This is worse than poison ivy even. Help me find some relief please

Does anyone else like not really follow a recipe when making theirs? I look at whey I have, scan a recipe real quick, and the just wing it. I don’t really measure and I never write it down. I’ve had some fails for sure, but not as many as you’d think with this method of creating lol. Anyone else?

I used the field roast stadium dogs and Bush’s vegetarian baked beans which I was happy to discover are actually vegan. When I used to eat eggs I’d put a dippy egg over top. You’d think I was a stoner lol

Huge, huge thank you to u/redratchaser who sent me the reflector. It was waiting for me on my porch when I got up this morning.

For anyone who hasn’t seen, I found the tall Stiffel at the goodwill last week for $10, and the “shade”, as I was calling it but was corrected, fell off and shattered in the parking lot. I didn’t even know what I had but I sure am happy I grabbed it. She’s HEAVY! u/redratchaser was so kind and sent me this reflector and I am beyond grateful! Fits perfectly and the lamp is a stunner! Now to find the right shade but it’s pretty enough to use as is for now. The smaller lamp is also a Stiffel that I found for $5 yesterday. I knew instantly when I picked it up what it was, even though it’s unmarked, thanks to this group. It goes very well with the taller one. I’m becoming a lamp fanatic lol.

Another Stiffel and a hurricane lamp. $4.99 and $3.99 respectively. I also need to do dishes lol

I went back into the “lamp room” to put one back, I had found what I believe to be a Stiffel and liked it better, and lo and behold, look what they just put out. It couldn’t have been on the floor for more than a few minutes. That bad b*tch went into my cart so fast! I have a weird knack for going thrifting right place/right time. This week is also $.25 all Christmas. I’ll post more pics later, I just had to share this baby!

Most, if not all, of my lamps are vintage. Some of them will probably need tweaked or repaired at some point. A couple have been rewired already but I have more that could probably use it for safety reasons. But I want to learn to do minor and basic repairs myself. I’ve looked for work shops in my area and came up with nothing. There are a few books out there that look promising but I’d ideally like more of a class type format for the initial learning. And then have the books for reference. I’ve found some options but I don’t know how to tell if any are any good. So, have you ever taken a lamp repair class? Do you know which are good and which are not? How can I tell? Thanks!

It’s a WIP but I really like how it’s coming together. The clock on the far right works but I have the cord wrapped up and taped to the back. I just don’t need two and there’s not a plug that the cord will stretch to there. I might move it eventually when I get some of my other goodies out of storage.
