My wife got me a Harley Benton SC-550 II FTF for my birthday a few weeks ago and I freaking love it. Such a pretty and amazing sounding instrument.

Major improvement switching from Elvanse 50mg to Concerta XL 18mg

Like the title says, I've recently switched after 1 month on Elvanse which gave me mostly bad side effects. Elvanse hardly did anything during the day but then made me so tired in the afternoon. The worst thing was that I was then totally depressed in the evenings.

I started thinking about giving up on medications but the titration pharmacist suggested I try methylphenidate for the 2nd month so then I can decide which one worked better. I'm only on 18mg on Concerta XL (now on day 4) but I'm already noticing the focus during most of the day and the fact that I'm fine during the evenings.

I have noticed I wake up really tired in the morning after 7-8 hours of sleep. I guess it's because the medication completely wears off during the night then my body gets really exhausted.

Hopefully the next dose (27mg after 2 weeks) will keep this going and I can stay on this medication.

So today after 4 weeks on Elvanse (2 weeks on 30mg, 2 weeks on 50mg) I've decided with the titration pharmacist to switch to Concerta XL because I get more side effects on Elvanse than actual benefits. I've had headaches, teeth grinding, nausea but the worst one was the crash in the evenings and the depression that follows.

I felt the medication working in the morning but my mind was still all over the place jumping between tasks.

Has anyone been through the same path and can say if switching helped and pros/cons between meds?
