Trying to upgrade my flight, it costs $3226 for both legs (2 pax) of a 18h journey. One is Q Suites, one is not - (considering not upgrading the second non QC only 5 hour leg).

I have a ton of Capital One Miles I've been saving up - and there's a transfer bonus right now of 1.3 I think.

But I dont know how many to transfer. How many Avios would be required to pay for $3226? Is it the same as the cash value? It won't let me explore further because I only have 88 Avios miles. Flight is day after tomorrow and I've been watching the upgrade price for weeks - doesnt seem to be getting any lower than that.

Coming to the show tomorrow and worried about the heat + air pollution. How was it for folks tonight?

It’s going to be HOT. Haven’t been to an outdoor concert in this level of heat in a while - what are folks doing to stay partying without passing out from heat exhaustion?!

Took it in for a service, got a loaner from the dealership. 26 Sonata. Was sliding all over the place in that - get back in my car and it feels like I’m turning my steering wheel in wet sand.

Sonata was not my cup of tea though

Trying to watch Game 4 of the NBA Finals. Things worked flawlessly for us for Game 3, but this time it’s nothing but trouble. Don’t want to miss more by clicking around aimlessly trying to find a stream that magically works!

I had such a blast the first time around and even made a post about it.

I’m taking my gf tonight - but I hardly ever watch movies twice in the theatre.

Any particular things to look out for or view in a different light?

I discovered sour starbursts and have been putting them away, and then felt a cavity coming in.

Is there anything that matches that isn’t so bad?

I’ve (28M) got two friends from college that I’m really close to because we share a large amount of similar interests.

I don’t have many other local close friendships because I moved to a new city (where they had both moved to a few years prior) jsut a year ago.

It’s been nice to be close to them over the last year and when we get together it’s fun.

But I am often feeling deflated after hanging out with them, with one more so than the other, because I put out a lot of consideration and thoughtfulness because I genuinely love doing it - but get none of it back, and almost the opposite of it - if that makes any sense.

I had a large credit for this particular activity that I could have used by myself or just with my gf, but I decided I wanted a Boys day out and offered to them that for the hang out we planed, I’d be willing to just use my credit (I paid for this thing a long time ago and ended up not using it, the place said that I can’t get a refund now and instead offered me the credit).

During, friend A just kept imposing his desires onto our activity - saying we should set things up X way and oh “well don’t you want to do this?” There was a point where we had to make a selection, and instead of us talking through what we each want he’d just say “well here why don’t we just do this?” Almost problem solving without really considering what anyone else would want - this is jsut what he sees as the most straightforward and group conducive thing so we should do it.

I was really fulfilled being able to take the boys out in that way. But then we went to grab a bite to eat, and in the intermediary and after, neither of them really said thank you for taking them out or acknowledged even that I spent $100+ because it was on a credit and not “right now” money.

What really made me go on this little thought hole was - friend A Venmo requested me for the >$30 meal because he decided that it would be easier for all of us to be on one check and paid for dinner on his credit card. I absolutely planned on paying him back for dinner - and didn’t expect him to cover for me - my treat is my treat and that’s just that. But to not even acknowledge the money I spent or the thought I put in to make this day out for us in this way, and then request money bc he decided to pay for everyone without even talking it through with us… idk maybe I’m just too in my head.

There’s been other occasions like this, and I’m jsut wondering what I do to feel less down about not having people that treat me like I love to treat them. I’ve known this friend for 10 years and I’ve cut other friends out for not matching mine and my partners level of consideration, but I just don’t want to do that here.

This is all over the place, my head hurts from thinking about it so much - I just wish I had friends that cared and showed love in the way I do them. Is this a selfish expectation? Is this even consideration at all because I have this expectation? What does I do to stop feeling this way and still be friends with them? My gf said to just stop doing those things - but I really do love doing them when I’m doing them - it just bums me out to not have a me in my life to do that for me too.

I made a reservation for what I now realize is 30 min before 3h before my flight.

I’ve never done a reservation there, but I’m taking my parents so wanted to make sure no waiting is involved. I misread the flight time and now I’m afraid our reservation will get punted.

I’ve tried calling C1 and the information desk at the airport to no avail. The reservation portal on the C1 app says to “call the restaurant”.

UPDATE: We just went in at 4:30 (reservation was for 4:15) and they said it’s chill and let us in.
