Is Clay Holmes FA target #1?

With Holmes being an extreme ground ball pitcher, still closer to 30 than 40, I think Jed probably will try to keep him in Chicago, what do you think? We have a LOT of high end talent, but so many question marks due to injury. Horton might not even be back until the very end of 2027, Cabrera and Steele both have immense talent but really can't be penciled in right?

I just feel trying to retain Holmes and maybe even Boyd would be a really important for the stability of our starting staff in 2027.

RG 477m has a low key under appreciated screen.

It's not an OLED like nova, but damn the sharpness and colors on this look so good. This is the best N64 has looked (mupen64plus fz) 800x600, crt geometry, dithering, blur. effect factor x3. Zoom %113 (to line up screen closer to bezels)

Looks better in person, I can't quite capture how good it looks. I remember playing paper mario 64 on my retroid pocket 2+ or 2s just barely hanging on, couldn't even use "accurate" mode bc it caused polygon tearing. So this is the first device I've been able to throw a bunch of shader filters on and still run smooth.

Which pitchers do you think they'll try to extend?

With so many guys coming back from injuries, but have high ceilings. They really need at least a few guys they feel they can count on. I think they would try to offer a contract to Gausman or Holmes. Honestly I'd be happy if they tried to get both of them on short 2-3 year deals.

With so many uncertainties like Steele, Cabrera, Horton (probably out most of 2027 too), Brown. How many of Boyd, Imanaga, Gausman, and Holmes will they try to retain for 2027 and beyond? Honestly even though he's older, seeing how long they've coveted Kevin Gausman I wouldn't be surprised if they try to extend him. But Holmes is such an extreme ground ball pitcher which really fits their defense I wouldn't be surprised by that one either.

What do you guys think?

This "digital future" has made me think about the longevity of my games.

I can put in one of my Nintendo DS games or PS1 discs and it still works. My PSOne LCD screen still works. I've been buying game key cards and Xbox and PS5 discs. But now I'm starting to look at, which actually is on the disc. Shockingly a lot of the PS5 games are playable offline.

This will be my final game generation, but because of the big shakeup I've started to look at which games will actually work 20 years from now. I switched from PS5 to Switch 2 for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. But shockingly the game was actually on the PS5 disc. Like I prefer switch 2 for being portable, but I might proritize the PS5 version if it is actually on the disc now.

I'm really hyped to play the Black Flag remake and Halo Campaign evolved, but I guess I'll resell them after I beat them. It's sad that we have to consider this now. But I think it's the right choice. I'm selling my game key cards and any games that won't be playable 20 years from now. Have you begun to do the same? Like I'm going to try to build my PS5 and Xbox One collection to where it is "Mostly" future proof. This will def give me more money for PS1 games and other older games. I love dirt racing games on the xbox series controller, but I'll have to consider for now all the DLC tracks are fun, so I might as well enjoy what I have now while preserving for the future.

Might sound weird but Gears of War E-day interests me more than Wolverine

I migrated back to Xbox as a response to Sony even knowing Xbox will probably go all digital, but at least they haven't said they are completely cutting off physical in jan '28.

But aside from that. I never really planned to get Wolverine. Gears of War E-day looks much more exciting to me. I'm glad I'll be able to play it day one now. God of War Laufey looks awesome but heck it might not even come out until after the "cutoff" date. And I definitely don't plan on spending $80 on a digital game.

I thought there was a Gears of War game every other year. But Gears 5 was seven years ago? I guess I overestimated how much I thought they were milking the series. Definitely hyped to play it! Are you buying it day one? Or does Gears not interest you?

Coming back to Xbox and that controller.

I've been struggling with this for a few years. I had a black series X with a collection of only maybe 20ish games, then sold that when Hellblade 2 didn't have a physical and the writing was on the wall for Xbox's digital future.

Now I have a PS5 and 20ish physical games, but I've always loved the xbox controller much much better.

If both companies are going to be digital anyway, I might as well game on the controller I like more. I've been hyped for Black Flag Resynced and Halo Campaign Evolved, but now I can enjoy them even more on the xbox controller.

Why do you drive a colorful car?

I've bought only colorful cars starting in 2008 with a Hot Lava Scion XD Special Edition. Then in 2018, an Energy Green Civic EXT Coupe. My next car will be a Mustang Ecoboost Premium RTR Orange Fury, or possibly whatever the Subaru Performance hatchack coming out is. And if it has a bright colorful option.

I plan to stick to brand new every 6-10 years so I'm getting into the market again. It seems like 95% of cars on the road are white, black, or grey. Red and blue are somewhat more common, which is why I don't target those colors. Unless it's like bright Rallye Red or light blue, or a greenish blue. I buy colorful cars because I think it makes it look more expensive. As long as that color sits on that specific design in a good way. So it's not only about standing out on the road. I just think rare loud colors make a car look sharper, and sportier. And more fun. I love owning and driving colorful cars.

Is there any particular reason you specifically seek out rare or bright colors?

Do I really need paddle shifters?

I'm going to step up in power from my 2018 energy green civic EXT coupe within the next year or so. I've never driven anything but an automatic, and I honestly am not really interested in manual.

But the paddle shifter thing is kind of appealing. As something "fun to do" every once in awhile. So the idea of them is appealing. Not sure they outweigh a banging sound system and interior comfort. Whatever I buy it's gonna be brand new. I've bought 2 cars since 2008 and they were both brand new, and I plan to continue that trend.

Unfortunately, the leader in my interests doesn't even have paddle shifters. The mustang ecoboost premium. I like the loud orange fury color option, and the optional B&O sound system is like twice as impressive as my civic 10 speaker 450w system. I'm also considering Elantra N, WRX, Golf GTi, and BMW 230i. And I'm waiting to see what the 2027 models look like.

All the others have shifters, but I wanted to ask from the car guys, maybe people who have owned shifters for many years, or drive both, etc. . . I'm not looking for you to convince me to stick with the stang, I want your honest opinions! thanks guys! (oh I only daily drive on suburban roads with 45-50mph speed limit, with 90 degree stoplights most of my turning).

Black Onyx or Space Grey?

I'm thinking about an orange fury ecoboost premium with orange belts. I originally was going to go black onyx. But I kinda like the two tone, and the space grey is a lighter grey which I like. Gives it a bit of an upscale luxury look.

What do you think will look better with the orange belts? It's def gotta be 201a package because it's the only way to add the 12 speaker B&O system which is a MUST. So no emberglow seats, they are locked behind 200a.

230i owners, did you buy new or used?

I'm eying a 230i because it has the fun factor I'm after, it's an upgrade over my energy green civic ext coupe, and has an optional rare color, purple. That's important to me.

However built how I want one. I don't need the M2 sport package, but def want a sunroof and H&K sound system. I'm at $47k MSRP. There is a 2022 purple 230i in my area with only 20k miles on it for under $30k. I promised myself I'd continue to buy new cars every 8-10 years. But I'm not quite ready to jump to $40k-$45k.

So I just wanted to reach out and ask if you guys bought brand new or used? the purple does have a sunroof, but no H&K and no beige seats. But for $15k less, the fun factor might still be worth it.

Had to snap another pic of my sweethearts

Senji is the 4yo boy Siamese Mix. Rain is the girl 1yo Neb mix. He was such a sweet loving guardian to her as a kitten. I'm happy to see they are still in love and best friends. You know how some times kittens kind of stop cuddling when they get older. But this bond seems to be sticking around. I think of her as his kitten, and I think they might feel the same way.

(first pic took 1 minute ago, the rest are a time line of him "raising" her, lol). She's fluffed up for sure.

Are the electrical problems overblown?

Hey guys, I'm deciding on my new car and I'm down to a king's red Golf GTi SE trim, or an Orange Fury Mustang Ecoboost Premium. I am a very low mileage driver and my last 2 cars were brand new, my next one will be too. So in 8 years when I'm ready to trade in, the Golf GTi will have less than 40k miles on it.

I will not buy any sort of tack on warranty. I didn't for my '18 civic. And in 8 years, the only repair I had to do that wasn't the expected filter, tire, wear and tear stuff, was a $1300 replacement of some electronic CHIP that was basically not allowing my car to start.

So the rumors are that GTi owners mention that Golf's can have lots of electronic problems. Be it the screens or whatever else with modern cars that have so many electronic components.

If I get a Golf, am I gambling on losing $1000s in electronic repair costs over the next 8 years over something like a mustang or elantra N? If you've owned Golfs for many years, I'd appreciate your input. Thanks guys!

Which would you chose?

I'm down to either a Performance Blue Elantra N, or Alpine Silver Golf GTi S (base model for those beautiful plaid seats). Either will be brand new 2026 model.

Either one will be a big jump from my 1.5 174HP CVT civic. Both have paddle shifters. So I'm going automatic even if I chose the Elantra N. (even though the interior pic I have shows manual)

I'll probably have less than 40k miles on it in 8 years, just looking for something faster and a bit more fun to drive than my current Civic for the next several years. GTi will have a bit better MPG, maybe a bit comfier. EN will be a bit more rowdy, added bonus of having a sunroof. Sound system might be just a tad better on the GTi S. Either would be a downgrade over my current 450w 10 speaker. So I might do a minor sound upgrade to either.

I debated the autobahn for the premium sound and light grey accented seats. But we're talking $8k difference from S trim. And the fun drive is mostly what I'm after.

Thinking of making the next anniversary my Dream Car.

Because I am really interested in a Golf R or Golf GTi. But I want a loud color to stand out. I'm a little confused though, R was introduced in Europe in 2002, and then NA in 2004 right?

Has there been any word of when the NA market might get an annversary Golf R, with a potential Spektrum $$ bonus option? If they do a 25th for NA it would be 2029 model year. But AI tells me they would use the EU 2002 model instead, which makes no sense. (and I know it gets stuff wrong all the time, which is why I'm asking here), what model year might we get the next Anniversary so I can go all out on my dream car, and get a loud rare color to celebrate?

How do you like that Alpine Silver?

This is not my car, just took them from the net since it's the color I'm interested in. I am getting ready to get a new car in the next year or so. I bought my civic coupe in '18. Paid off and very low miles. So I'm wanting to "jump" into that next tier. Meaning, little faster, nicer inside, etc.

I never thought I'd be interested in a VW Golf because I've always felt the styling was like very early 00's. Like I'm buying a new car that doesn't look current. Don't bash me I'm just sharing how I felt. However I do love this alpine silver. And I like that the autobahn interior kind of matches it because of the heavy use of light grey on the seats.

I typically like loud colors. I have a green car, my previous car was metallic orange. But this is about the nicest bright silver I've seen. I'm also keeping an eye on Elantra N, WRX, GR86, and prelude. But this specific color and style does speak to me. I know I missed a yellow by a few years, but the interior didn't match so it's not so bad I missed it.

What is your favorite color for your Goft GTi, or any car really? Do you want more "hero" colors?

Anyone else in the market, but waiting for 12th gen?

I'm in the market but I'm interested enough in those images of a supposed accord prototype. I like the front and back. It's just a little too long for me. If the Civic shares some of the design elements and has a limited bright color option it might be my next car. If I remember correctly, Gen 10, the first couple years they offered the rare energy green color, then very briefly after that followed that with tonic yellow pearl. So I'm hoping they do the same thing 12th gen. Offer a low production bright color option.

I just don't find the current gen civic styling appealing, hatchback or sedan. 10th gen Coupe is what I ended up with and I love it. I do like that they might be going back to more aggressive styling again. Are you in the market? Are you looking forward to the 12th gen?

Riven remake and Myst remake PS5 VR please!

As a PSVR2 owner, I could have previously easily play Myst and Riven on steam and use my PSVR2 converter. But I have been holding out. They are now on PS5, These 2 amazing games are finally on PS5, and in VR too! But I'm hoping for a physical. They DID do Myst Masterpiece edition on Switch 1. I remember buying it and playing it.

What do you guys think the percentage chance of LRG Myst and Riven PS5?

Considering a WRX, what are your favorite after market STI or Impreza wings?

I remember seeing those Impreza and WRX STI and Impreza with the iconic blue color over the last 30 years, and it was always my dream car. Fast foward to age 49, and it's no longer available. But I do know that you can get them after market. I just wanted to ask you guys, what are your favorite styles? I think I like the one that had a the modern angular wing the most.

Do any of you guys have one installed and which one do you think looks best on a new WRX? I bought my civic in 2018, and I just didn't have the money for a WRX at that time. But I do now. But I will absolutely put a beautiful wing on it if I do.

I feel like Subaru is probably a good reliable car. But how do you guys feel about it compared to honda, toyota, and Hyundai? The Elantra N is really speaking to me, but my brain says WRX might be a better investment.

Anyone interested in what body style changes might be coming for next generation?

I have a 2018 civic coupe. That is extremely sporty looking. I would not trade it in for a current generation unless you paid me significant profit. It's so boring and ugly. What do you expect of the body style change? I doubt it will look as fabulous as 10th gen. But if it looks significantly different than current gen I might consider getting an SI for the first time and learning stick. I enjoy my 174HP 1.5 turbo for it's acelleration. But would love a change from the CVT drone.

So I'm in the market in the near future. I've been looking at things like integra a spec tech package (this is the only one that would top my built in 450w premium sound system in the EXT), The GR86, Elantra N, Prelude, and a couple of others. But I'd love it if the next civic looked nice enough to not have to jump into the near $40k+ tier.

My Civic. My best brand new car I've bought.

Bought this brand new in 2018. Before they got rid of the green. Had to get them to drive one in from the next state over because there were very few Energy Green's left. Coupe EX-T. Only put 34.5K miles on it so far. Fastest car I've ever owned. 1.5 turbo 174HP. Have had no trouble with the turbo engine in the 8 years I've owned it. I LOVE this styling and color. I paid an extra $500 + install to get the matching spoiler. I'm so glad I got my civic before they changed the design.

I'm in the market, but doesn't have to be right away. I'd love to stick with Honda, but the current civics are boring, and the prelude doesn't have any wild color. So I'll clean up my baby real good and enjoy her for a while longer!

(I didn't black the plate because it has a new specialty plate)
