Compensation

Recently I was booked on the night flight from RTM-LCY. A driver drove into the wing and aircraft was down for the night. I had to get back to London first thing in the morning. I managed to get re-booked onto a flight from AMS. I got my compensation for UK261 + food and hotel. I had to take an Uber from RTM-AMS. I sent that to BA, they said that since the name on my Uber account doesn't reflect that which is shown on my BA account they can't reimburse me. I sent them proof that that account is linked with my email - they still refuse to pay back the €150 Uber ride. Wondering if there's anything I could do about this or if it's just lost?

Emergency fuel in IF

When declaring minimum/low fuel. Why do they say, "Expect delays, divert to nearest suitable airport." It should be, that you get clearance to land earlier and they try to accommodate you. A while ago I was trying to land at Aukland in an A380, they told me to divert. Where the hell am I supposed to divert to? I tried to go south, but ended up crashing.

We are all becoming Wall-E people!

I remember when I was younger and I watched Pixars Wall-E film. The film shows you this dystopian world where everyone is sitting, doing nothing, using technology to control their entire lives. I remember thinking that that was never going to happen, it almost seemed impossible. I mean, 'a world where everything is run by a computer and I have to do nothing, yeah, that's not happening.'

I recently watched Wall-E again, now it's far from impossible, humans are going to become a lazy, dependant species before we know it! I'm talking about everyone, me included. How long do we sit, scroll on our phones doing nothing. If we want food - tap a screen in a few specific locations and, boom, there's a pizza at your door. Soon, we won't even have to tap the screen. Move your eyes in the right way and there will be a pizza in your hands within minutes.

This is not a good future. It is a slow, comfortable decline into a complete world for dependency. We used to think a dystopia had to look like a post-apocalyptic wasteland, but Wall-E nailed the terrifying reality. The real threat isn't a fiery end, it's a world where our every whim is catered to until our minds and bodies atrophy from lack of use. We are willingly trading our autonomy for convenience.

This clock in Amsterdam Schiphol Airport displays a man painting the time. It was a real man who was filmed for 12 hrs they then looped the video.

Why/how are aircraft landing at LHR well after curfew?

This is the latest one I've seen so far. There have been tons of aircraft that have landed after 23:30 tonight.

Stop complaining Disney/Pixar is not good anymore!

I was on YouTube, and was watching this person complain about the new Disney film, Hopper.

I have come to the realisation that the only reason people hate Disney/Pixar now is because YouTubers and internet give them so much hate - people like copying opinions.

Nostalgia: Remembering something as a better memory than it actually is. When you watched Toy Story 2 as it came out, you loved it, you were a kid, and you really connected to it. The only reason you still connect to it now, is because you remember that connection you had with it as a kid, the first time you watched it.

There are many kids who are watching Hoppers and are really connecting to it, those kids will come back as the people who hate Disney/Pixar in 20 years, because they can't connect to the 'newer' films. They'll look back, and praise Hoppers.

I also love the only Disney/Pixar films. When you sit down and rank a movie, try put yourself in that kid mindset, stop looking at it like Toy Story. Andy grew up with us. They'll never do the same thing again. Stop hoping they do. Disney and Pixar really do put in time into making their movies and they produce 5 start movies almost every time.

I agree that the re-making of older Disney movies into live actions is dumb, and I'd also prefer that they brought out something new. But why would they? All they get is hate on the storyline, hate on everything. If they release a Moana live action, all those people who loved the animated Moana will watch this new one. They may be lie, "Oh ThAt'S nOt HoW MaUi WoUlD aCtUalLy LoOk LiKe." That's not what they're trying to get, they're trying to get you to re-connect to your original feelings of the first time you watched it. As kids nowadays don't give a stuff about Disney films, all they want is to do is try stay alive as a company and connect to the people who actually care about Disney (everyone complaining obviously cares otherwise they wouldn't put in so much time to complain).

And now, whenever they DO try something new, everyone gets pissed. This is a situation of, you get what you get and you don't get upset.

We often waste years trying to "fix" or change the personalities of those in our circle for the better. If your current environment is draining you and people refuse to grow, stop trying to change them and change your social circle.

Basically, as the title reads. From around 8am-1am my time, if someone sends me a message on Discord, WhatsApp, just messages, Reddit, anything, I find that I am always able to respond within the minute. This isn't cause I'm on my phone the whole time, it's cause my smartwatch tells me whenever I get a notification or if I have my earphones in, those'll tell me.
