Guwahati Anime Fans: Would you watch Your Name in theatres if it returned for its 10th anniversary?
Hello Guwahati!
Recently, the 10th anniversary release dates for "Your Name" in North America was announced (August 14).
I was wondering how many people here would actually be interested if Your Name (Kimi No Na Wa) got a theatrical re-release in India for its 10th anniversary this year.
With anime films getting much better theatrical releases in India over the last few years, I was wondering how many people in Guwahati would actually go if Your Name (Kimi no Na wa) got a 10th anniversary theatrical re-release this year.
I know a lot of people either watched it years later on streaming or missed its original theatrical run entirely. Personally, I'd love to experience it on the big screen. The visuals, soundtrack, and overall atmosphere seem like they were made for a theatre.
So I'm curious:
- Did you get to watch "Your Name" when it was first released?
- If not, would you go if it came back for a 10th anniversary release?
- Do you think there's enough anime audience in Guwahati to make it viable?
I had started a "Change.org" petition to show distributors that there's genuine interest from Indian fans, and it's close to 1000 signatures, which is quite encouraging!
