Warning: Cancer-Causing Chemicals Found on Popular Produce Like Strawberries
I never really thought much about strawberries until I started learning more about how certain produce is grown and treated before it reaches the store.

Strawberries are one of those fruits that often require more care because they’re soft, grow close to the ground, and can spoil or mold quickly. Because of that, conventional strawberries may be sprayed with different chemicals during the growing process, including pesticides and fungicides to protect the crop from insects, disease, and mold.

I’m not saying people should be scared of strawberries or stop eating them. They’re still a healthy fruit and full of vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants. But I do think it’s worth being aware that not all produce is grown the same way.

A few simple things I’ve started doing:

Wash strawberries well under running water before eating
Remove any soft, damaged, or moldy berries
Buy organic when possible, especially for berries
Try to buy from farms or brands that are transparent about how they grow their produce

At the end of the day, I think it’s about being informed, not fearful. Strawberries are great, but knowing how they’re grown helps us make better choices for ourselves and our families.
