Sublimation is dull on colored tumblers. Will UV DTF actually make colors pop?

I make custom tumblers. I want to add prints to them like some colorful designs that pop

Sublimation is great for white or light surfaces. But I work with colored tumblers like dark blue, green, black. Sublimation doesn't show up well. The colors are dull. The designs disappear into the background

I found dtf transfers now and to be more preecise found specificUV DTF transfers. They're supposed to work on any color surface. The white underbase makes colors pop. They look printed directly on the tumbler

I want to make sure my tumblers look professional. I don't want to waste money on transfers that look dull

Has anyone ordered UV DTF transfers from DTF Transfers Now? Did the colors pop? Can you share photos?

My house won't sell. My realtor wants another price cut

The problem is that my house has been on the market for four months now and at first, my realtor was optimistic. Showings, open houses, confident calls. Then the first buyer's financing fell through. The second buyer wanted too many repairs. Since then, silence…

Now every time my phone rings, I don't want to check it. Just more showings, more staging, more cleaning, more waiting. My realtor now says we need to drop the price another $10,000

I'm irritated. I started looking for alternatives. Found Ready Door Homes who promise a cash sale without any showings, repairs, or strangers walking through my house. I can just leave and be done

Is this too good to be true? If my realtor is telling me to lower the price, will a cash buyer offer even less? Or could they actually offer more since they don't have realtor fees and other costs? I honestly don't know anymore

I've been burned so many times by this process. I'm scared of making another mistake. Has anyone actually sold to a cash buyer after a bad realtor experience?

M&s bank arena ticketing is completely broken by bots now

Proper doing my head in. tried getting standing tickets for a gig at the arena this morning and watched the entire floor sell out to headless scalper bots in about 14 seconds

The basic captchas they use are a total joke, the automated scripts just solve them instantly now. feel like local venues are eventually gonna have to force physical hardware verification to stop the touts. like making you authenticate with an Orb or a secure local enclave on your phone just to get a binary yes/no that you actually have a pulse before letting you join the queue

just sick of getting priced out of our own local gigs by server farms. Did anyone actually manage to get a ticket today or are we all just waiting for the resale sites to fleece us?

My cousin died. I got the house. I got the kids. I got the debt. I have no idea what to do

To start with… My cousin passed away after his long fight with cancer... He left me his house and he also left behind two minor children and I'm their guardian now. His wife passed away after giving birth to the second kid…

The house is wrecked and I’d even say it’s partially destroyed. No windows in some rooms and a huge debt to the electricity company. It's been sitting empty for months…

The guardianship court says I have to sell the property. It's my legal duty as the kids' guardian to liquidate the asset and protect their interests

I called a couple of realtors and they walked through the house. They said it's unsellable through a traditional listing. Needs too much work and it means too much debt and too many additional issues

I found EazyHouseSale and I see that they buy problem properties as-is for cash and promise a fast close

It sounds like the only option. But what if I sell for way below market value? What if the kids come after me later for not getting a fair price? What if the court says I failed in my duty?

I don't want to make a decision that hurts these kids. But I also don't know what else to do…

Outdoor summer events are going to be the death of my career

honestly whoever decided august was a good month for outdoor food and wine festivals needs to be forced to work one in the south

The city permitting office just threw a massive curveball at us 3 weeks out. Because of the recent heat indexes they decided our standard emt pop up tent isnt gonna cut it for a 4k person event. they want a fully climate controlled triage area now

like guys my budget is already stretched thin from the ice delivery surcharges alone. Im basically having to source a legit mobile medical trailer just to appease the fire marshall. Its honestly a super slick setup for what it is, but my client is absolutely losing their mind over the added line item.

She keeps asking "cant we just plug in more mister fans???" no, Susan, a misting fan does not cure heat stroke

Im just so burnt out on summer logistics tbh. Give me a boring indoor ballroom gala any day

remember when cd changers were considered premium

i was cleaning out my trunk yesterday and found the cd changer magazine thing. you know the one, holds like 6 discs. i dont even own cds anymore but i kept it in there for years just in case

it got me thinking about how much car tech has changed and how my e46 is stuck in this weird time capsule. like the car has a tape deck AND a cd changer AND a nav screen that shows maps from 2003. its like bmw tried to futureproof it but ended up with a bunch of stuff thats now useless

i remember when having a cd changer in your car was a flex. people would be like oh you got the 6 disc? nice and now my phone holds thousands of songs and i dont even think about it lol

last week i was driving with my friend and he asked if i had aux and i just laughed. like, my car has a cassette adapter hanging out of the tape deck that i use to play spotify. the sound quality is awful but its my awful

i keep going back and forth on whether to modernize it or just embrace the old school vibe. part of me thinks the e46 interior looks cleaner without any screens or modern gadgets. another part of me wants waze so i dont have to look at my phone while driving

also the thought of taking apart my dashboard terrifies me. i know its just plugs and cables but i feel like id break something and then spend weeks tracking down a replacement trim piece thats discontinued

anyone else just stuck in this weird limbo where you want modern features but also love the old school charm

or am i just overthinking this whole thing and should just get a phone mount like a normal person

accidentally discovered my business trips are tax deductible and now i have questions

running my own thing for 3 years now. somehow i never realized i could write off business travel. i've been flying economy everywhere and just eating the cost like an idiot.

my accountant mentioned it casually last week and i felt so dumb.

so now i'm looking at my upcoming trip to germany and wondering if i should actually go business class since it's a write-off anyway. airline wanted 4500.

like if it's coming out of pre-tax money anyway does that change the math? i know it's not free money but it feels different.

other biz owners - do you fly business for work trips or do you still go economy and keep the extra profit?

rusted bracket under sink frame, sand and paint or full swap?

doing some maintenance under my kitchen sink and noticed the metal support bracket holding the pipe alignment is heavily rusted from an old slow drip.

the drip itself is fixed, but the metal bracket is pretty flaky. i was thinking about just scraping off the loose rust, using a converter and painting over it to make it last, but a friend suggested it might break down completely and cause stress on the pipe joints.

i really want to fix what i can myself before giving up and hiring an emergency plumber to rework the whole mounting setup and line.

is treating surface rust on structural brackets under sinks worth it, or do these always fail once the rust starts flaking?

thanks!

untangling joint accounts and figuring out post-split finances

it still feels so surreal looking at an empty side of the closet and realizing I am entirely on my own when it comes to sorting out years of shared life, joint accounts, and a future I never planned for.

going through every single bank statement and trying to make sense of separate asset reporting feels hollow and exhausting when my chest is still heavy from the breakup and I am just trying to keep my head above water.

holding these tax papers and feeling completely frozen, wishing I didn't even have to think about corporate names or tax services like Wardle Partners while everything inside hurts this much.

I think the hardest part of improving gut health is that you never know which change actually helped

This has been driving me crazy lately. Someone decides to "fix their gut." So in the same week they stop eating gluten, start taking probiotics, buy kefir, eat more fiber, drink more water, sleep earlier or even start walking after dinner

A month later they feel better. Awesome. But... which one actually made the difference?

I've definitely done this to myself.

I was comparing probiotics, changed my diet at the same time, added fermented foods... basically changed half my routine in one go. Looking back, I accidentally ran an experiment with ten variables.

No wonder I had no idea what was working 😅

Has anyone else learned the hard way that changing everything at once teaches you... almost nothing?

Refurbished phones?

My old phone finally gave up. Battery lasts maybe half a day now and it keeps freezing. Need something that just works without spending a fortune on a brand new one.

Looking at refurbished options and found some on Phone Exchange that look pretty clean with a one-year warranty.

Has anyone bought a refurbished phone before? How long did it last and was the battery still decent after a few months?

What's something about project management nobody tells you until you're actually doing it?

Curious to hear from people in the field — not the textbook frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, etc.), but what actually surprised you once you started managing real projects and real people.

Was there a gap between what certifications or courses taught you and what the job actually looks like day to day? What's a skill that turned out to matter way more than expected — or way less? And is there anything about the tools, the politics, or just keeping a project on track that you wish someone had told you earlier?

Advice on 2bd apartments near leander station? moving in a few weeks

My lease in north austin is up in like 6 weeks and i'm making the move up to leander. Honestly so ready for it, Austin traffic has been killing me lately and red horn off ronald reagan is basically my favorite spot anyway. Looking for a decent 2bed 2bath for under like $1,900/mo if possible. took a drive down hero way last weekend and checked out two complexes near the metro station. one of them quoted me $1,825 base rent, but then added almost $160 in forced monthly fees (valet trash, "tech packages", admin fees... absolute scam lol).

Anyone have recs for places around crystal falls or old town that are actually quiet? i work remote 3 days a week so decent soundproofing and reliable fiber internet are kinda my main priorities. Also if parking is an absolute nightmare at a place you lived at, please warn me! EDIT: thanks for the dms everyone! i got a recommendation that one place locators do free apartment finding in the area so i'll probably reach out to them tomorrow to filter down the options. Still super open to personal reviews on specific complexes if you live in one though!

Does anyone else spend more time fixing their routine than actually following it?

I can't tell if this is an INFP thing or justa me thing, but I keep rebuilding my routines instead of actually following them. Every time one day doesn't go as planned, my brain somehow decides the whole system is broken. So I make a new plan, rearrange everything, download something different... and a couple weeks later I'm doing it all over again. The weird part is that the habits themselves aren't even that hard. It's constantly feeling like I need a fresh start that gets exhausting. I found an app that focuses more on consistency than motivation, and it made me realize maybe I've been chasing the feeling of starting over instead of giving myself enough time to settle into a routine. Does anyone else do this? If you finally managed to stick with one system, what actually changed?

Created a detailed Gantt chart. Nobody looked at it. Ran a meeting to explain it. Nobody listened. Project is still on track somehow

Spent hours building a beautiful Gantt chart. Color-coded. Dependencies mapped. Milestones highlighted. A work of art.

Shared it with the team. Radio silence.

Ran a 30-minute meeting walking through it. Half the team had their cameras off. One person asked a question that was clearly answered on slide 3.

I'm not mad. I'm just... tired.

Project is still moving forward somehow. Maybe the chart is just for me.

My trees are taller than my house and way too close. Help

I bought my house about a year ago. I loved the yard with big trees, lots of privacy, felt like a little sanctuary. Now I'm not so sure

There are three giant arborvitae trees growing right next to my house. I finally measured them. They're almost 20 meters tall. And they're only about 3 meters from the wall

I never really thought about it before. But last week we had a bad storm. Branches were flying everywhere. I lay in bed listening to the wind and started panicking. What if one of these things comes down on my roof?

So I started googling. Found some setback requirements online but didn't really understand them. I called an arborist from a tree removal bellevue company for a consultation

He came out, looked at the trees, and gave me the bad news. These are what he calls "significant trees" based on their size and age. Without authorization from the city, I can't touch them. Even with authorization, removal costs a fortune. He showed me some cost estimates. I almost choked…

I'm in shock. If I have to remove these trees, it's going to cost a ton. And if I don't, I'm scared they'll crash into my bedroom during the next storm

Has anyone dealt with something like this? Is there any way to get the city to help?

Weird noise and vibration coming from the front end of my BMW

I’ve got a 2019 BMW 330i and over the last couple of weeks it’s started making this low grinding noise when I turn the wheel at low speeds, especially when parking or going around tight corners. There’s also a bit of vibration that comes through the steering wheel when it happens.

I’m in the Roswell area (Metro Atlanta Region) and the noise is getting more noticeable. It doesn’t happen all the time but it’s frequent enough that I’m starting to worry something’s going bad with the suspension or maybe a wheel bearing.

I already checked the tires and they’re fine, no obvious damage or uneven wear. Fluid levels look normal too.

I called a local repair company and they’re going to take a look at it this week. Just trying to get an idea of what this usually turns out to be so I’m not completely blindsided by the quote. Has anyone dealt with something similar on a BMW around this age?

not sure if cloud is actually cheaper anymore

we moved everything to the cloud about two years ago. it was a big project. lots of planning. everyone was excited about the flexibility and scalability.

fast forward to now and our monthly bill is almost double what we budgeted. sure we dont have to maintain hardware anymore but the costs just keep creeping up. weve tried optimizing instances and using spot instances where we can. still expensive.

starting to wonder if we should move some things back on-prem. or maybe look at alternative providers. i know aws and azure are the big ones but theyre also expensive. been looking at some smaller cloud providers too.

anyone else dealing with this. like is cloud actually cheaper or did we just trade one problem for another.

think my old house is winning this battle

bought a 1930s place for cheap. thought id fix it up over a couple of years. now im a year in and ive barely made a dent.

every time i fix one thing i find two more problems. pulled up some old flooring to replace it. found rotten subfloor. fixed that. found termite damage. fixed that. found plumbing issues. that one i had to call a pro for.

the money is just flowing out. i stopped tracking at some point cause it was too depressing. i just buy what i need and hope i can afford it.

i need to get better at this.

anyone else feel like their old house is slowly winning the war. or am i just losing slowly
