The Reliquary Marshal (Relic Orders)

His robes are stained with the blood of those who refused the New Covenant.

To the faithful, they were heathens clinging to dying gods.

To the Old Oaths, they were the last true keepers of the North.

The Reliquary Marshal does not question which is true.

He carries out the will of the New Covenant.

Another warrior joins the world of Black Oaths.

Would you march beneath the banners of the Relic Orders?

EINVÍGI is taking shape.

EINVÍGI is taking shape.

Two warriors.

One hazel-bound ground.

No armies. No measuring tapes. No escape from the eyes of the witnesses.

This is a Norse duel game of oaths, blood, shame, and reputation — where every step matters, every strike has weight, and victory is not just about surviving.

One fighter may leave as Drengr.

One may be remembered as Níðingr.

Public playtesting begins soon.

The Pale Witness is finished. (Harbinger)

One of the first Harbingers to emerge in the world of Black Oaths.

I wanted The Pale Witness to feel less like a fantasy angel and more like an ancient omen—an eternal observer of broken oaths, impossible miracles, and forgotten wars.

This was also my first real showcase piece printed on the new Anycubic Photon P1, and I’m incredibly impressed with the level of detail. Every feather, bone, and scar was a pleasure to paint.

What do you think? Would The Pale Witness march with your warband?

The Frost Walker is finished. (Jötunn)

The Frost Walker is finished. (Jötunn)

One of the first Harbingers to emerge in the world of Black Oaths.

I wanted him to feel less like a fantasy monster and more like an ancient nightmare from the old sagas—something that has walked the frozen North since long before kingdoms or churches.

I’m also incredibly impressed with the detail coming off the new Anycubic Photon P1. The sharpness on this print made painting every texture a pleasure.

What do you think? Would you fight beside the Frost Walker… or run the other way?

The hazel-bound ground is taking shape — prototype board for a Norse duel game

I’ve been working on a physical prototype board for EINVÍGI, a small Norse duel game I’m designing.

The idea is that two fighters meet on hazel-bound sacred ground, with the center acting as the main fighting space and the outer edge becoming the danger zone where a fighter can be driven out of the ring.

I’m trying to avoid a grid or normal ruler movement. Instead, the game uses a few fixed “Hazel Staves” for movement: short steps, longer rushes, and curved/circling movement.

The standing stones are meant to feel like witness stones around the duel ground, not actual terrain blocking movement.

Main thing I’m trying to figure out:

Does the board visually read as a clear duel arena?

Center ground, open fighting space, dangerous outer edge, sacred boundary, etc.

Still a prototype, but I’m pretty happy with the atmosphere so far. Curious what other people think before I keep refining it.

The Reliquary Saint

The Reliquary Saint

Once a man. Now a relic.

The faithful travel for miles to kneel before him. They touch the blood on his bindings. They whisper prayers to the wounds that never heal.

The Burdened follow in his footsteps, carrying their yokes through the Frankish Marches in hope that suffering might cleanse their souls.

Some call it devotion.

Others call it cruelty.

In the Marches, few remember the difference.

The Burdened

The priests speak of mercy.

The yoke speaks louder.

Every scar is a prayer. Every step is penance. Every stumble earns another lash.

The Burdened walk at the head of Frankish warbands, carrying their sins on splintered shoulders for all to see.

Finished this grimdark trencher tonight

Taking a break from Dark Age warriors and diving into the mud, blood, and ruin of the trenches.

Finished this grimdark trencher tonight. Really happy with how the weathered steel, deep crimson cloak, and battered helmet came together. Sometimes it's good to step away from your main project and paint something completely different.

Back to Black Oaths soon.

The tree remembers.

The ropes rot.

The bodies wither.

The names are forgotten.

But the tree remembers every oath broken beneath its branches.

The Hrafn-Seer gathers the faithful at its roots, where ravens watch from above and the dead sway in the cold wind. Some come seeking wisdom. Others come seeking forgiveness.

The tree grants neither.

Only judgment.

Uppsala, Black Oaths

Where the dead still keep their oaths.

Uppsala WIP — The Hanged Folk Gather

Some came to Uppsala seeking wisdom.

Some came seeking power.

Some simply followed the wrong path through the trees.

Now they gather beneath the hanging boughs and wait for the Hrafn-Seer to speak.

The ravens already know what comes next.

WIP on the cult of Uppsala for Black Oaths. Still printing. Still painting. Still getting weirder.

Something is stirring beneath the ash and snow…

I’ve been working on Black Oaths, a grim-dark mythic skirmish game set in a world where old vows have twisted into curses and the dead refuse to stay silent. I wanted a world that feels less like history and more like standing at the end of an age — where broken oaths, forgotten gods, and things lurking beyond the firelight still have power.

Meet the Hrafn-Seer of Uppsala

“The ravens no longer circle his shoulders, nor whisper omens into his ears. Something changed beneath the hanging trees of Uppsala. Now crows fall silent when he passes, and the dead lean toward his voice as though hearing a forgotten command.”

WIP miniature for Black Oaths. More cursed souls are coming.

Torsten Crow-Eye

Jarl of the black tide roads.

They say ravens gather before his ships make landfall.

They say he’s buried more oath-brothers than enemies.

They say he once stood three nights beside a burning grove and never spoke a word.

Now the coastfires are lit again.

And Torsten has come south.

Steel. Salt. Blood Marks.

The old world is dying badly.
