Midlife crisis in full effect. For those that been there, how does this end?

I'm 38 years old. From June to September I've spent 30k on sugarbaby and strip clubs, liquor, etc.

I'm not going to lie..... I am having a blast.

But this is not sustainable. I'm scared to go back to regular life. (Work, sleep, eat, shoot basketball, build computers, go to restaurants, play video games, watch movies) in endless loop.

I don't know what to do. I have no children or wife.

In the past my goal was to be debt free, have savings and chase retirement.

I have accomplished two out of the three. But chasing "retirement' and praying to the gods of S&P 500 (useless numbers on a screen that may or may not keep going up). in order to finally relax at 60 years old is totally unappealing and doesn't give me the proper motivation to continue grinding forever.

I'm not sure what I'm trying to convey here. Just ranting at the clouds. Thanks for reading

Tipping extra always leads to regret, for me

Every time I visit the strip club , I usually see five or so girls. I like variety.

On one particular night, I visited the club. And I decided to spend a couple of hours with one single dancer. I was feeling really generous that day and tipped her around $1500. We were both happy that night.

A few weeks later I went back to the club and decided to go back to doing variety. I saw this particular dancer again but this time I only spent half an hr with her. Tipped her 200.

She was so pissed. Her whole demeanor changed. She asked" you don't like me anymore?? Did I do something wrong? Last time you tipped me more".

At that point I really felt like taking my tip back. I had to work many hours to earn that $200, lol. And she's scoffing at it like it's nothing.

I find that if you go to a strip club regularly... And decide to bless a dancer with higher than usual tip, that then becomes the new normal and she expects it every time. Your good deed just blows up in your face.

This ever happened to you guys?

It's crazy how the retirements of most the middle class relies on billionaires getting richer forever?

Think about it. You "invest" via your 401k or Roth IRA into billionaire companies.

You get to watch the number in your retirement account grow. And fantasize about the money. Admiring it from a distance. Like going to Thanksgiving dinner and not being allowed to touch the food. Just smelling it from the next room , only

While the billionaire gets to borrow against your contributions and enjoy the money in the present. And reserves the right to dump the stock and crash your retirement account at any time.

We complain about inequality, etc. but yet, we create the billionaires that we hate so much.

This system is soo messed up

Mangohud simply stopped working. I don't how to get it working again

When I'm in game. .... I'm able to cycle through all the "HUD" options. But the graph never shows on the screen.

It was working fine before. I'm using the latest version bazzite.

After googling around....you can run "mangohud %command%. It works on very small number of games. Very inconsistent!.

Has this happend to anyone else?? Thannks guys

I was drinking mainstream tequila for 10 years. And I just assumed that it's supposed to taste bad, until...

I tried Tesoro Reposado. It is pleasant to drink Neat. No burning or aftertaste.

All this time I was drinking Don Julio, espolon, Patron.

I thought that tequila was something that you chugged fast. And get it over with. Haha

I find myself sipping Tesoro slowly. Not worrying about having a chaser.

Total game changer.

It's crazy how much marketing the mainstream brands have. And they are barely tolerable.

I plan on using a stock Intel cooler for the core 5 ultra 250kf. Should I be ok?

I'm upgrading my small form factor PC. And space is limited. I plan on using the processor at stock clock speeds.

I'm going to go on eBay and get Intel stock cooler made for the "core 5 ultra 225". (I don't have space for bigger cooler). The cooler physically supports the core 5 ultra 250kf.

Should my temperatures be fine?? What you guys think?

Lets entertain the idea that there is no real estate bubble. And that everything is fine

Let's say the real estate bubble is a myth.

You hold your nose and sign on that 500k 7% mortgage.

The boomer you buy it from makes a clean 10x on the sale.

This is fine. A primary residence is an appreciating asset.

30 years later you sell that same home to Gen beta with minimal renovations For 5 million %15 rate Nice

This is sustainable and fine. Nothing unusual here.

100 yr+ homes appreciate in value forever. No matter if buyers income is not keeping up

We here are the crazy ones here at r/rebubble

I went to the "affirm" subreddit. And I realize that there is a whole culture built around qualifying for the privilege of having more debt.

This is so dangerous. Everybody in that sub is encouraging each other and showing off their high purchasing power of debt.

What will be the outcome of all this?? Let's discuss

Input latency. Powerful PC vs MISTER FPGA

So I have a super powerful PC with intel core ultra 265k.

Im able to do runahead X2, Frame Delay 15, max swapchain images 2.

And pretty much eliminate all input lag with my Bluetooth controllers. (In all retro game generations)

I want to create a living room setup. But don't want to build another powerful PC. I notice that only PC processors released within the past 2 years can achieve this level of low latency. (In Windows at least).

So my question is:

With a "MISTER" FPGA....will I be able to achieve the same level of low latency without needing the heavy processing power?

Thanks

Battler gc wireless gamepad. Vibration is weak in games (dolphin emulator). But fine in dolphin menu

When I configure vibration in dolphin menu, I can feel it strong . In game, its weak and hardly feel any vibration.

I have controller connected via Bluetooth X input mode. (Also tried with 2.4 adapter).

I cross reference with Xbox One controller (vibration felt strong at all times).

Advice? Thanks 🙏

You have $20k budgeted for strip club. To spend over the course of 6 months

Do you find a favorite girl and see her weekly??

Or do you go for variety??

I can't decide.

If I "invest" in one girl..... Then I will probably resent that I gave her 20k and expect "more". But there will be some familiarity and repoire

If I go for variety....I will feel more ROI. But less connection.

I tested the waters last week. And found a few girls that I like.

But this one girl I've seen more than once....she's under the impression that she can drain my wallet in 20 minutes and send me on my way every time she sees me. Might have to let her go and start fresh,,haha. I set the wrong precedent there

What would you do? What has your experience been like under similar circumstances? Looking for different perspectives

Every politician only wants to do a sort of managed decline. The goal is not to fix anything

It's pretty much predictable at this point.

40 trillion of debt. Neither side wants to cut spending.

Just move debt around like musical chairs to please their respective bases. While bailing out the banks whenever needed plus QE injections into markets.

It is so predictable what the future looks like at this point.

A Democratic socialist will come into power in 2028 and usher in UBI and continue with more deficit spending in the name of "correcting the errors of Donald Trump".

Anyway you slice it, the future involves a hyperinflationary implosion.

I wish every political discussion used what I wrote up here^^^^ as the The foundation for every debate going forward. Since it affects us all. Hyperinflationary debt spiral .

When it's time for you to retire in 30 years loaf of bread will be $500.

But you will still get your social security check and money in the 401k, so it's all good. 😉

Which stripper archetype you prefer??

#1. "dead eyes". Skips the formalities. Has a go to move to turn you on. Flashes the boobs..... Suggestively adjust the front of thong . "Accidentally "rubs your d*ck Gets straight to grinding on you right away. If you try to have conversation, she is taking off guard and don't know what to do.

#2. Flirty girl next door. Sits down next to you. Very patient. Present. Looks into your eyes. Natural flow of conversation. Gradually get to the sexy parts.

#3. Wants money in her hand up front before even saying a word or doing anything. Storms off if you don't give in to her demands . (Maybe this might work for guys with a dominatrix, cuck kink?)

Most of the times, I'm a #2 kind of guy. But some days , I'm short on time and find myself wanting #1. Haha . # 3, never gets my time.

What about you?

I still get buzzed from drinking. But I no longer get the "confidence boost"

I still get the buzz and feel nice. But I remain fully aware of the consequences of any possible action. it's not like before...where I would feel invincible and become more daring.

I'm 37 now. Has this happened to any of you?;

Anyone knows if the RP5 that comes in the new colors have the same improved speakers of the RP G2?

This is the deciding factor for me buying on Amazon. I must have that teal color

I emailed retroid and they gave a vague answer

"Hello, yes. Their designs are very similar.".

Anyone know for sure?

Which take up more battery?? A native android port?? ( Simpsons hit and run). Or SNES game + heavy shader?(Ayaneo pocket S mini)

SNES heavy shader vs simpson hit and run native android port.

According to the readings.....the SNES+ shader is taxing the GPU more. And the Simpsons port is barely using GPU.

Which is drawing more power?? I can't conclusively tell. I'm trying to decide if it's worth using a less power hungry shader for SNES.

But so far in one day of testing, I can't tell conclusively.

What do you guys think?

▲ 179 r/RetroArch

Retroarch has allowed me to do this. Use appropriate controllers for each console on CRT TV. In instantaneous manner

Today I picked up my neo Geo controller and what straight into playing neo Geo CD games in 5 seconds. Then

Sometimes it's easy to take for granted the software that's allowing all this to happen. But when you sit down and actually think about it, it's really insane what this software is doing. 240p support on CRT tv, hot keys,, quality of life features ,time savings with save states etc

Retro Arch is the most unique software I've ever used for emulation. You can make your setup super complicated like what I have. With a bunch of different controllers,,

Or simply play your games on a little handheld the size of a game boy.

I didn't see the full vision 15 years ago with its janky and ugly UI. But now I see it. Retroarch has become my go-to for all things retro.

Who knows, maybe in another 15 years we will be playing PS3 on a retroarch core on a tiny hand held. With save states and fast foward. Haha

Just an appreciation post ❤️.

Setup details: windows 10 pc, i7 4790k, r7 240 gpu. Crtemudriver software, vga to component transcoder. Launch box frontend(Tying together five different retroarch installs for the different controllers etc).

It sucks how we are all dependent on billionaires for our retirement. but it never gets talked about

Everyone faithfully invest passively into their 401ks. Admiring the number going up from a distance on a screen. Fantasizing about eventual retirement.

Meanwhile the billionaire could borrow against our passive investments and reserve the right to crash the price at any time.

I hate how this is normalized. And investing for retirement it's marketed as "a retirement savings account".

Whether you are a Republican or a Democrat. Hate the rich or love them. We are all depending on the same system to retire.

You could be the ultimate Democratic socialist that hates billionaires. But you need this system to be propped up at all cost. Lol.

Summary: We either need to accept a future where we are all 401k millionaires but a loaf of bread cost $500 (hyperinflation. Which is the road we're headed toward.

Or. Blow up the whole system. Everyone loses all their wealth inside of their 401k. Billionaires lose their billionaire status. Everyone loses home equity. A lot of people lose jobs. We go through a lost decade or two. But a real economy grows in the aftermath.

Which do you prefer?
