I keep seeing the “are my standards too high” on my feed and like every single one is just “basic respect” or “loves me”. Y'all need to up your standards a little. Have a few physical preferences, expect princess treatment, just literally anything except the bare minimum I'm begging y'all. Don't be scared of seeming too picky or not finding the right one, or you'll just end up settling for less.

It pisses me off so bad how much the USSR has been memefied. It has gotten to the point where people use symbols from it (one of the worst authoritarian regimes in modern history btw) just to be quirky or as symbols for other movements.

Millions of people suffered and still experience the effects of Stalinism. The USSR participated in mass deportations, ethnic cleansing, planned famines such as Holodomor (which nobody knows about for some reason), forced labor camps, and mass executions. Despite all of this, people use the hammer and the sickle in their displays or post pics of the USSR flag as if they're just communist symbols (news flash, they're so much more).

Not to mention people completely ignore or get mad at people who are from countries or families that were affected by Soviet occupation. There is real generational trauma tied to Stalinism and the USSR, but for some reason, those people constantly get disregarded because others are so focused on jokes or being quirky that they don't care.

Seeing the hammer and sickle symbol everywhere also sucks, because people just treat it as the logo of communism when it, for many people, represents violence, authoritarianism, persecution, starvation, gulags, and death. It’s very much comparable to how the swastika symbol represents the atrocities of Nazi Germany.

The real kicker is that the people who use it or claim communism are always the “woke” people. Unfortunately for them, using that symbol does not even mean associating yourself with oppression and romanticizing a government that destroyed so much. Not very woke, considering being woke means being aware of social issues and injustice :/

Also a little afterthought, but those types of people love preaching about being knowledgeable in history, but that all goes out the window when the history doesn’t fit what they like.

I hate the unofficial “non men-loving non men” definition for lesbian. This is for two main reasons.

1. Instead of trying to redefine an entire label if an established community that was fine as it was, it would've been more useful to work on redefining the label of woman to be more inclusive (IE, a woman is anyone who wants to label themselves as a woman, regardless of their individual labels or wether or not they're binary). This would be generally more helpful in the long run

2. It feels exclusionary towards people on the non-binary spectrum who both identify as women and men (Bigender, genderfluid, etc). Saying “non men” would mean people who identify as men, even if they also identify as women, would be excluded from being lesbians, which isn't ok.

So, essentially, it was on Tiktok, and it was a “lesbian” basically saying “if you find men attractive but don't actually get into or risk a relationship with them you're still a lesbian”. Wtf. If you are attracted to men you are not a lesbian 💔 Is it me or is that straight up biphobia and lesbophobia all at once 😭
