A Vinyl & Film Night!

I’ve been watching horror since I was 8, but as I got older, I definitely went deeper down the rabbit hole. I remember hearing stories about Faces of Death and Cannibal Holocaust—and the first time I finally watched Cannibal Holocaust, that music alone absolutely unhinged me.
After 26+ years of collecting physical media, I somehow never owned it…until the 88 Films 4K. I finally opened it today, just in time for Grindhouse Releasing’s pre-order announcement. Naturally, I immediately pre-ordered theirs too!
This 4K looks phenomenal. Now I can’t wait to see what Grindhouse did with their release!

Sleepaway Camp!

Got in the mood for a few Summer Horror Films, and Sleepaway Camp will be the first one. Nothing like a little summer camp horror to set the mood. Time to revisit this classic!

Tonight’s Vinyl & a Film is in honor of a legend we lost, Reggie Bannister.

A true icon of independent horror whose work left an unforgettable mark on the genre. Tonight, we spin the vinyl and revisit one of his classic films as a small tribute to an incredible career and a life that gave horror fans so many memorable moments.
Rest in Peace, Reggie.

Tonight’s film: The Evil Dead!

One of the most influential independent horror films ever made. It’s amazing what Sam Raimi and his crew accomplished on such a small budget—relentless energy, creative camerawork, gruesome practical effects, and the birth of one of horror’s greatest franchises.

Tonight’s film: Chain Reactions

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is one of my all-time favorite films and horror franchises, so I’m excited to finally check out Chain Reactions. Looking forward to hearing from the filmmakers, cast, and fans about the lasting impact and legacy of one of the most influential horror films ever made.

Tonight's film: Godzilla Minus One.

This will be my first time watching it, and I've somehow managed to avoid spoilers since its release. I've heard nothing but incredible things, so I'm excited to finally experience it for myself.

Vinyl & a Film

Tonight I’m revisiting one of my all-time favorite werewolf films, Stephen King’s Silver Bullet.

As an ‘80s kid, I grew up loving fireworks and werewolves, so this movie quickly became an all-time favorite. It still captures that nostalgic feeling every time I watch it.

I’ve always been a huge Corey Haim fan, and I wish I’d had the opportunity to meet him. I was fortunate enough to meet Gary Busey, though, and he signed my Blu-ray copy of the film—a piece I’ll always treasure.

Now it’s time to let the vinyl spin before revisiting this ‘80s classic!

Tonight’s feature is Part 2: Freddy’s Revenge, but first, the vinyl gets the spotlight. There’s just something about spinning the soundtrack before the movie that makes the experience even better.
Who’s a fan of Freddy’s Revenge? Has your opinion of it changed over the years?

Rest in Peace, Sam Neill. Thank you for the unforgettable performances and the incredible legacy you’ve left behind.

Tonight’s pairing is in honor of a true legend.

I’m spinning John Carpenter and Jim Lang’s incredible score for In the Mouth of Madness pressed by Terror Vision before diving into Arrow Video’s beautiful 4K release. This remains one of my favorite Lovecraftian-inspired horror films, and Sam Neill’s performance is absolutely unforgettable.

Vinyl & a Film

Decided to spin one of my favorite Goblin albums before finally experiencing Suspiria in 4K for the first time.
Suspiria has given me that unsettling, uneasy feeling ever since I first saw it. The haunting score, surreal visuals, and dreamlike atmosphere still creep me out to this day. Some films never lose their power—and this is definitely one of them.

Vinyl and a Movie.

Wow, I still remember watching Cemetery Man back when it first hit VHS. I had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into! After all these years, I finally cracked open the Severin 4K and decided to spin the Rustblade release before revisiting this masterpiece. The perfect way to set the mood for one of the most unique horror films ever made.
After the movie, I may keep the night going and throw on the Lunaris 2LP as well.
Who else remembers their first time watching Cemetery Man?
