I have a freestanding Beko gas range that’s quickly becoming a paperweight. The broiler quit about three years ago, and the replacement burner broke a few months back. Lately, it takes forever for the oven to come up to temperature.

I bought this at Yale Appliance in Boston, which is generally a great store. But they must have really been fooled by Beko marketing. Beko isn’t even in the U.S. anymore, I think. No one needs to tell me how bad Beko is

I want to replace this with a good electric induction range. Preferably with knobs and as low in gizmo tech as possible. Budget to about $2,500, more if it really meets my needs. Reliability and good service and support are high on the list.

Perhaps like many here, I’ve gotten zero information in the mail or at my station about the dates for choosing benefits for 2027 nor any detailed information about coverage choices. So I went to the online site and learned the dates are Oct. 13 through Oct. 30. Little more than one week away.

And, of course, FedEx no longer mails the very useful printed guide explaining each benefit option. So I downloaded that guide and will print it out when I go to work next week. Let them pay for the copy paper. This is the link:

I’ve always driven manuals. But we’re looking for a used Golf and many have the DSG trannys. Do these hold up well over 5-10 years? Or do they break down?

I know of a NWFA certified wood flooring inspector. Would it help my legal case by having them evaluate and document the work?

My ops manager of about the last 18 months was supposed to return from vacation on 8/11, but she’s returning tomorrow. According to another mgr, her last day is 9/25, that she’d been “under performing,” and powers above determined we had one too many managers. Odd, because before she started we had too few.

Absolutely no one will be sad to see her go. She never drove a route but managed drivers. She frequently yelled at package handlers. Many quit because of her. I don’t know of any other mgr with so many complaints to HR. Obviously, she made enough waves to get noticed. The too many mgrs thing just shows that if they want to get rid of you they find a way.

Are floor refinishing contractors required to be licensed in Massachusett?

My wife and I arranged to get our home’s wood floors refinished while we were out of town for two weeks. We hired movers to move everything into a storage container outside. All sounded good in texts from the contractor.

I got home to find every surface covered in sanding dust But more concerning are the swirl marks and straight line sander marks in various spots. As well as patches that look bare. Many of the vanes in the baseboard heaters are extremely bent.

There’s not much that can be done short of redoing the whole job, which wouldn't work logistically.

I still owe half of the total that I’d be glad to pay if the work had been done well. Do I have any recourse or options?

I have two 2015 TDIs and know about interrupted regens. After I park, my car’s fans stay on for a few minutes (under 5). Usually notice it about twice a week. Today the fans came on louder than normal, shut off, then repeated.

Three years ago my car had a faulty fan control module that keep the fans going until the battery died. So I’m always a little nervous when the fans stay on. Can I probably stop worryin?

I saw something on YouTube saying the EOS R 10 creates a high degree of rolling shutter when using the electronic shutter at high FPS. I’m not experienced enough to know what this is or if I’ve ever had it happen. Is it a common problem? Is there a simple way to prevent it?

Just bought a new R10. The battery plug in wall charger works fine. Is there a reason or advantage to getting an in-camera charger? If so, what’s a good third party unit?

I just bought a new R10 for my wife’s birthday from B&H. It arrived safely and is in fine shape. But as I was handling it I was struck by how cheaply made it felt. I’m sure it’s not going to fall apart. But there’s so much plastic. While I was still shopping around I considered a Nikon Z6III because it has in-body stabilization, a magnesium-aluminum body and weather sealing. But it was so much more money. And I like Canon.

Does anyone else sometimes use Ford Transits? They drive ok except for the lousy transmissions. But I sometimes get them so full that I have to leave freight behind.
