all in good fun! This is an AOS Mini but I tried to use a scheme I'd have done for tomb kings if we were lucky enough to have them in AOS. I'm still unsure about the gems, I might just go over with a more green copper

Curious about collecting bonies but turned off a bit by needing to bring Nagash in every match.
My club is starting an AOS Narrative paint and play campaign, quite excited new to AOS however (played a bit of spearhead and a few games of 40k), I really like the idea of painting some mounted combatants, is there a faction that's particularly strong or even thematic with cavalry? I saw the Nurgle Horses they look fairly cool.
I've been painting a few EC (praise be Slaanesh yada yada), I'm still pretty new to the hobby only had a few games.
Our club is doing a follow along to the new tale of four warlords, the 40k one starting in October - I'm not the biggest fan of marines not sure why, maybe it's the poster boy element, so I'm looking to build something new
So I'm browsing the website and I see this icon on this spider horse, naturally I have to have him.
I'm not too concerned about being massively competitive but I'd like the army to be playable as it's for the clubs narrative campaign.

Thinking about a bunch of ghosts in their old heraldies they had in life, cowardly peasants and noblemen who fled combat and paid the price with an arrow to the back
I've got a few spearheads (Slaanesh, Ghosts and Flesh eaters), loving the small format games and I don't mind the three I've played - I'm very much a vibe guy and I'm just not in love with any yet, thinking maybe I need something with some sword and shields!
What was it that hooked you enough to build your first full army of your first faction? Was it lore, models or play style? Any answers welcome 🤗

I'm a lurker when it comes to AOS and have read mainly just 40k but would love to hear some AOS recommendations? I'm keen to get a spearhead but want to experience more of the narrative side first.
Bit of a noob to the game so still learning but I did Carnival of Excess with a KoS and a mixture of marines and daemons. Had a lot of fun, Thrill Seeker was great 👍
Personally I'd love to see them tackle a Fantasy or AOS setting but just thinking of established 40k areas of lore with rich story and RPG potential how cool would it be to go from Rogue Trader to Inquisitor to Gang Lord? Feels like a natural fit and so much story to tell.

Got the box of accursed cultists, the three tormentors work well on the right size base but as I needed four I had to shove the five little guys into a mob, would this be acceptable?

Think I chickened out a bit by going with silver and gold metallic paint but I had a strong homebrew vibe for this chapter.
I essentially want them to be petty Pirate lords of Slaanesh who were once a loyalist chapter.
As loyalists they took a vow of poverty and were at the beck and call of an influential (and extremely greedy) order of Imperium priests, ultimately however they were ' liberated ' by a Slaaneshi Sorcerer.
He convinced them to melt down the Priests, with them becoming the paint for ' Lord of Alms ' armour.
All the gold, silver and jewels the Priests wore now decorated the Chaos Space Marines and they took the planet of Alms (there home world) into the embrace of Slaanesh! Now a hive or scum and villainy.
