Adding keywords during import

This should not be this difficult.

And I did quite a bit of searching on the vast majority of answers come up as to add keywords to the keyword field under Metadata.

There is no keyword field under Metadata nor adjustments. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Absolutely Phenomenal Movie - “Land of Mine”

I’ve had this in my library for about a year and just now got around to watching it.

At the end of WWII the Denmark coastline was riddled with land mines. This is the story, based on true events, of how the Danish used POW’s to clear these mines.

The vast majority of them were just boys. Just a remarkable movie. Academy Award Nominated for Best Foreign Language Film.

We must never allow MAGA back into a civil society.

Make no mistake, if there was no MAGA there’d be no Trump and I for one will never forgive them.

MAGA is automatically opposed to everything and anything that is decent and it’s beyond obvious that they literally hate the U.S. Constitution. And because of their weak minds they are susceptible to any brand of influence no matter how indecent or illegal it is.

They’ve not only made out country an international laughing stock they’ve made decent Americans unsafe.

We must NEVER forget what they’ve done and we must NEVER forgive them. If we get out of this mess, and I’m not sure that we will, we cannot ever again allow them to mix back into a civil society. Label them for life.

Bitcoin’s only value…

Bitcoin’s ONLY value is its scarcity. Now, with most Bitcoin Treasury CxOs openly admitting that it will never be used for transactions, Bitcoiners only defense is “21 million.”

I can’t tell you how many of these evangelicals were shocked when I’ve pointed out, with receipts, that Bitcoin will not reach 21 million until the year 2134.

I’ll say it again, Bitcoin functionality is exactly the same at 0.35 cents as it is at $60K. But hey, it becomes a collector’s item in another 108 years. (and it still won’t be used for anything)

Every sign that Bitcoin is about to go belly up and they still refuse to see it. But nah, definitely not a cult.

Over the last two weeks there’s been three clear indications that Bitcoin could be heading for some serious damage and very soon.

Michael Saylor, the man that for five years said that he’d never sell bitcoin almost defaulted on his dividend payments and was forced to sell bitcoin.

The Coldcard hack. Cultists refuse to believe if it could happen to one it could happen to ten. They refuse to believe that it could happen again.

Trump Media, another entity that swore that they’d never sell bitcoin, has sold millions of dollars worth of bitcoin.

And the next time a Bitcoin evangelist refuses to accept the reality ask them this one question… What can Bitcoin do at $65K that it couldn’t do at $2K? It makes their heads explode. They’ll never be able to answer you.

It’s astonishing how coin holders are dismissive of the fact that not only is Saylor not buying, he’s selling.

For years I’ve always seen people stick up for Saylor’s model and try to make a case for it. It blows me away that some people still can’t see what’s right in front of them.

Does anyone have a gravity works print washer.

Have a new to me 11x14 Gravity works print washer. Unit has one intake on top, that was a bear to find the right fitting for my setup, and two discharge nozzles on the bottom, one on each side.

Ive found the Gravity Works instructions that are as clear as mud, and they state that the tank should be filled up within 30 seconds and then let it go through a couple of cycles.

My question is should these bottom nozzles be plugged until the washer is filled then be allowed to discharge?

And any tips would be appreciated. Thank you.

Finally turned off to eBay.

For the longest time I’ve not had a problem with eBay nor those that sold on eBay. Why would I, everything always worked out for me.

But now, I’ve had it. I can’t tell you how many times I‘ve had attempted scams on me in the last two months. I’m rebuilding my darkroom and it seems that sellers are just going to neighborhood garage sales, picking up some darkroom crap and calling it perfect to mint or “I dunno, it belonged to my uncle the photographer.”

My last encounter was from a guy who took very strategically covering up the shit. I ordered a good looking enlarger and when it FINALLY arrived there was $77 postage due. That was the first box, the second box came when I wasn’t home and it was full of nothing but garbage. There was literally holes in the bellows!

ebay protected me but it just seems like every seller is just trying to off load their garbage.

I’m fvcking done.

I need just one person to tell me…..

I just need one person to tell me what bitcoin can do at $60K that it couldn’t do at $5K….

I just want to understand something, if there’s no difference in functionality between $5K and $60K where’s the value add? Just keep it at $5K and we’re good.

(my god, please refrain from the low effort “it can buy me a Porsche, house etc… that doesn’t help the millions of people that bought over $100K and it has nothing to do with functionality.

Also, scarcity is moot for us as we reach 21 million somewhere around 2140.

Gravity Works Print washer or Paterson Tray Print washer?

I think that a lot of my printing will be on resin however when it comes to that special print I’ll probably use Fiber.

So, while my old house had an amazing darkroom that would make some labs jealous I’m now limited to the bathroom, a walk in shower and an adjustable table, space is at a premium. I could see myself using the floor of the shower, under the adjustable table for a proper print washer with a ten foot faucet hose. Otherwise it’s the tray under the table.

So guys, help me out please?

Filming in the darkroom?

I’ve seen plenty of videos where the photographer will be in the darkroom, safelight on, filming with what I suspect his iPhone.

I know that we can make the iPhone an safelight but I’m curious about filming.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to do this please?

Trouble understanding Horizon Kompakt film counter.

New owner here. So I understand film winding but really don’t know when to stop advancing when putting in a new roll.

But what really got me confused is the film counter, it’s not in any way tethered to the advance knob so not sure about setting it to “1” and then is it manually dialed to “2”?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Japan’s “N. MInt” problem.

For the longest time buying both Cameras and especially lenses from Japan was a pleasure. They inherently take much better care of their gear than American shops.

I’m a collector and spend quite a bit on gear and especially lenses. But over the past year or more every item I see on eBa is described as “N. Mint” or “5++++” and upon receipt there’s plenty of issues. Dust, fog, scratches… the gambit.

In fact, I don’t think I’ve seen a Japan listing that wasn’t “N. Mint”

It‘s getting ridiculous. Is anyone else noticing this?

Okay, now please help me organize

Good evening.

You guys walked me through Capture One over Lightroom but now, before I purchase it I could use your help with setting it up.

I presently have a 5-bay disk enclosure holding the following…

Disk 1 \ RAID 1 (2 TB) (in software)
Disk 2/ RAID 1 (2TB)

Drive A 2TB

Drive B 2TB

Drive C 2TB

40G free space

I have an external portable drive for Time Machine

Im thinking about adding Drive C to cover for RAID. (forgot what it’s called)

Thank you everyone!

Because I’m not going to live forever…

Good morning. I’m 66 years old and while I certainly hope that I live a good long time anything, for anybody, can happen at anytime and just like making a will is important so is, to me, my camera collection.

My son wouldn’t know the difference between a Leica M10 and a Cannon EOS. (meaning no disrespect to Cannon) and he’d sell one of my cherished Leicas or XPans for $100 each.

So I wanted a way to help him after my passing and I came up with this system…..

It’s basically a labeling system where I inventory the contents of the case and next to it I made a label with a QR code that leads him to a eBay search for that particular item and I stick the labels in front of the hard case.

I compliment that with a spreadsheet that goes into more details. I’ve now done this with my Wide collection, my Leica collection, Nikon, Godox lighting etc… etc…

I hope that might help someone that has had the same concerns as I.

Edit: I did a eBay search on the actual brand, i. e. “Hasselblad XPan II” and copied the link that answered this. It’ll be good forever. So he’ll be able to get an idea of the market at that time.

Why did you choose Lightroom over Capture One?

Good morning.

I‘m just now, at 66 years old, revisiting my passion for photography both film (scanning) and digital and I could use your opinion please.

Could you please summarize why you chose Lightroom over Capture One?

I appreciate it, thank you.

Sellers are scammers too!

Make no mistake, sellers are scammers too!

Last month I bought an Epson scanner, used, from Japan. $850 plus $150 shipping that included tariffs and import duties. The scanner was defective.

I had to ask for ebays help because he wouldn’t send a return label. Then after having the return for over a week he wouldn’t refund me. I again had to ask eBay to step in.

He refunded me only half stating that I didn’t return it in the same condition which was Bullsh!t.

My eBay person saw this and automatically refunded me the rest and then the seller had the nerve to ask for good feedback because they refunded me. The feedback was fire.

Im sure the majority of scammers are buyers but sellers can be just as slimy.
