Hotel asking for extra photo ID?

I just stayed in the NOX hotel in Belsize Park, I paid direct via their website a week before arrival. On the day when I checked in I was asked for photo ID, I showed her my workplace ID card which includes a photo of me and my name, she refused this and asked if I have a passport or driving licence. I had my passport with me so I showed her that. She took it and photocopied it and handed it back to me.

I thought this should be ok, its only my ID after all, but im now wondering why they needed it. I am a frequent hotel user and am never asked for my photo ID at big or small hotels. Is it ok for them to keep a photocopy of my passport after I have already paid?

Facebook disabled my personal account without allowing me to provide further info..?

Hi all, received a msg that Meta disabled my account and it required selfie ID, so I provided this and then it instantly disabled my account, giving me the impression that it was automated AI and I never got a chance to submit any further info. When I try and log in now it says my account has been disabled with no option to appeal. i've tried joining Meta support via my Instagram account but I cannot speak to a human and the AI assistant provides no options to submit further details or request a human review.

For clarity i'm not sure why it disabled my account, it mentioned something about advertising integrity but I dont advertise on facebook, I havnt done anything illegal or bullied anyone. Anyone know how to contact a human to take a look or an email address? Thanks.

What Jeff Sokol has in common with Clint Eastwood.

Before you all laugh, hear me out OK? So last night I was watching the Clint Eastwood movie 'Magnum Force', great fucking movie. Then sometime in the second half of the film his boss played by Hal Holbrook suddenly comments on cop vigilantes 100 years ago getting away with stuff and their actions were acceptable. That suddenly reminded me of Jeff Sokol's lawyer telling the judge something similar to legitimize violating children.

Did his lawyer watch Magnum Force and get inspired to look into the history books as to when crimes were once legal/acceptable? Did Jeff Sokol remind him of Clint Eastwood so to watch his movies? Has Tcap ever ruined a movie with a subtle comparison without you being ready?

Do you book hotel rooms with no window?

Paid a cheap price for a small hotel room in Wales, I then looked at the finer print and found the reason it's cheap, the single room I booked has no window, the photos of the single room on the site has a window. I'm thinking no window is fine, im only going to sleep in there as ill be on a job over the weekend and i've saved 60 quid, however in this review of a hotel just dropped on Silenthotelreviewer is a room with no window and its now making me regret it https://youtu.be/NOdPOyn9qLE, the room without a window looks like a tiny shoebox, grim and even claustraphobic.

Its non-refundable, could I ask to see photos of the actual room and say I didnt realise at first it came without a window? Do anyone find a room without a window very difficult to stay in?

Ticket refund from Regal Cineworld in UK?

Has anyone in UK managed to get a refund from Cineworld (Regal cineworld apparently). A non-emergency alarm went off during the film twice, there was only 5 people in there and 2 left after the first alarm, which I can excuse, however the second alarm went off at the end of the film, spoiling the experience and continued after when I went out into the corridor with staff rushing to switch it off and apologising to those waiting. I complained that 2 alarms that were not an emergency ruined the film and she agreed saying she cannot refund but I should contact customer services email for a refund. I did so and got a response saying 'as the film was finished they cannot refund although they apologise for the inconvenience'. Is this acceptable? The film cost 15 quid so not as cheap as the other chains. Anyone know of a manager/UK ceo email address?

Taking slippers to a hotel?

I have several early starts at work comming up in various locations so i've booked several different hotels over the next few months that were the cheapest. They arent ghettos or hostels but a couple of cheap chains like a Travelodge and an Ibis as well as a couple of smaller Nox townhouses. Im just wondering wether people walk around in hotels barefoot or with socks on or is that unsanitary? Should you bring your own slippers/sliders? Am I thinking too negative?

NHS Band 2 porter progression?

I worked as a porter for 5 years and a couple of years ago I left to work somewhere else more boring for slightly more money. I now wish to return to an NHS role and am wondering what other positions are viable for a former band 2 porter that does not require degree training. I have no problem with retaining references as all was well with my former managers.

What do we think about Jamie Foxx roasting Doug Williams and apparently destroying his career?

I just got into the infamous roast of Emmitt Smith back in early 2000s, Jamie Foxx hosted and roasted Doug Williams who was kinda bombing. Was it a dick thing to do to speak over a guy doing his set? I just found it very funny! What do others think?

Anyone sub to real solo hosts or are most channels now from big media companies?

Just curious what people are watching on youtube as I browse 5 or 6 topics and its VERY suspicious that alot of seemingly solo channels are actually managed by a larger company and videos are churned out in the same formula for several hosts. I was watching a travel vlogger from a city im interested in and over the past couple of years im seeing his videos look like theyre now overly edited in the same style as others (whooshes, similar text font, color grading and FX etc), I also sub to another couple of channels that get shaves and massages and they now all go to the same barbers and advertise the same stuff with slop thumbnails. Does anyone actively sub to solo people where its clearly a guy on his own travelling, talking movies, reviewing products that isnt managed by some big marketing media outfit?
