Between Ne and Se Or Something Else

I am confused whether I have Ne or Se higher.

I suck at brainstorming and like to do things one at a time even though I can get what if thought out of nowhere. (Today I wondered what if whenever people talked, their words ended up as 'bla bla bla'.) I am imaginative but an action taker. My mind never blows to various possibilities (2-3 at max). I get drawn to some idea of something and pursue it until I drop it due to reality constraints. (Watched a science anime and thought of going to research because I was curious about animals and wanted to play with chemicals until after taking the subject I realised too much paperwork and all so still exploring, same with me thinking there would be adventure if I go to army such that I had already started by stretching exercises, eating healthy and collected articles but ended up dropping it when I came to know there would be rigid discipline and too much physical labour).

I hate stagnancy and being trapped. I would like to do so many things in my life and prefer options when I know nothing. Yet I fear ending up with something I would regret. Such that I am quite future oriented but thinking about future is something I am both dreamy and currently exhausted to think about it in detail such that my plans aren't detailed themselves. Though when I think of future it's mainly financial independence. That's why I am trying to develop skills which I can use someday.

I am cautious and sensitive when it comes to physical stimulus and several things (fear getting hurt, scolded, falling, dirty, personal space) and can be clumsy. I have bad short term memory but fine long term memory. When I get focused on something I forget about my surroundings such that I once forgot about my phone while writing on a gratitude board.

I would love an adventure and do so many things for fun (physically safe but not boring though within my financial limits). I am quite realistic such that to solve a problem I look for available resources and apply things I have heard, read or observed. I like to do things with my hands even though I follow instructions while cooking or making something. I like to write stories as I start with an idea and explore the story step by step on my way.

I would be happy to consider your insights and some extra thoughts on your side. :)

Curious About Options

Currently in Second year, doing Biochemistry Major with Bioinformatics Minor at a private college. Passed my class 12 with 81% (PCB).

I wanna know what options I have honestly. I like Biology and Chemistry (except Mol Bio and inorganic ig but I will manage them somehow). As I have just started my second year, all I know is to handle a pipette and conical flask haha. I have no prior experience with computers but I am willing to learn. I don't mind learning some basic Maths just not too much in detail ig.

Currently the subjects I have liked: Genetics and Inheritance, Neurobiochemistry, Physiology, Immunology and Enzymes. I hate Mol Bio (including gel electrophoresis) but scored good in this somehow.

I have no interest in academia, rather industry and maybe hospital, dunno. I am just exploring currently. I want to get a job after Masters as I don't know about PhD (I don't wanna do it honestly).

Would be a great help if I can see what is there in this field currently.

Biochem Fields

Currently studying Biochemistry as I like Biology and Chemistry (especially organic). Even though I took Bioinformatics Minor just to gain some knowledge, I am curious what kind of jobs and fields are there under Biochemistry, after Masters.

Currently liked subjects like Genetics and Inheritance, Neurobiochemistry, Physiology and Immunology. Not that fond of Molecular Biology but can handle a bit. Maybe because they were all macro-systems. Want to avoid academia.

Difference Between Si and Se

Hi! I would like to understand differences between Si and Se. Both are concerned with tangible reality and all but Se is said to be objective and Si is said to be subjective such that they make sense of their reality through their personal impressions, from past experiences.

As everyone uses memory, how is it different for both? Can Se use something they had seen, heard or read earlier to solve their problems or understand the situation? Because even if it's in the past it is something they have consumed, not their personal interpretations of what they have seen, heard or read.

Si is often concerned with safety and comfort. But even Se can be like that. But how they approach is different, with respect to their pair (Ne and Ni respectively) right? Si will be concerned with what happened in the past and negative scenarios possible. While Se with Ni can consider a possibility like what if they trip, what if they slip, etc. but not due to any prior data. (Pls correct me if I am getting it wrong)

Both can be concerned about future but Si do it from what has worked before for them and related. But I am curious that even if Se users are present oriented, can they consider future as well? (Especially ISXP types) Like seeing that they don't have the resources to get something they think of earning money in future to fulfill their desires or something and look to explore their options and all?

I am still learning about the functions so yea.

Curious About Your Functions

Hi! I would like to understand your inferior Ne and how it works? Does that make you less adaptable in real life and hesitation with considering new opportunities or perspectives? Or it is entirely different? Do you panic with not having control over your life under stress? I would also like to understand how your Si and other functions work together to find solutions.

Curious About Inferior Function

Which inferior function is this if a person hates putting too much efforts and doing something boring for long hours? If they have a tendency to accidentally skipping over relevant or necessary information but can follow an instruction when necessary? If they are forgetful and remember things in the last minute and need external scheduling to remember others birth dates, exam dates, etc. Yet at times remember some things in the past well? Or are these things which are rather general?

Would Like To Understand Te

Hi! Currently I have been exploring cognitive functions and would like to understand Te better. Te is often said to focus on efficiency and proved facts and all, but can Te make you focus on cause and effect, apply own logic? Does Te make you informed or prepared and have tolerance towards bureaucracy? Does Te make you like organizing things and all? Does Te makes you curious about things apart from their utility? What is thinking for them, a process, result, or what? How does Te work with Si?

Trying To Understand Ti

Hi! Currently I am trying to understand various functions so I would like to understand Ti as well and how it functions. How it works with Ne-Si as well? Also, what made you realise you have Ti rather than Fi, Te or any function? How does your Ti-Fe axis works as overall as well? Even though you prefer Ti over Fe yeah.

When Ti forms systems for everything, is it also focused on human systems and values and all? Is Ti applied to yourself as well?

It can at times get difficult to notice functions in you unless you are really introspective after all.

Lost and Clueless Currently As I am not Sure Where To Go

My qualifications: Class 12th PCB, and currently doing Biochemistry Major in a Private College.

I took PCB out of interest and currently lost as I am myself not sure where to go. I already had no interest in NEET but currently I don't know what to do.

I guess I really made a dumb mistake here, if only I had known more. I don't dislike Biology and Chemistry (not liking Molecular Biology and Inorganic that much but I can handle) but I don't know what to do. What should I do? I have already taken Bioinformatics Minor alongside haha. What should I do now? Am I just delaying my doom?

I am fine with some Maths as I personally don't hate Maths. Research in India is already bad so I am looking for industrial fields or something related. Only if I could know what kind of job suits me and all.

I want to know more about my career options here and there and what more skills I can develop.

Question regarding Fi

Can you be a Fi dom even if you aren't obsessed with finding your identity or something but rather concerned with building yourself or self improvement? If you make decisions rationally, not how this feels right to me and all?

Finally Reaching Somewhere

I have been posting here and there and finally landed on some patterns atleast. Phew. So guys, pls just give me some of your thoughts. :)

My thinking pattern... How do I say, most of the time my mind is either blank or I get random thoughts or something or I remember something which happened. Dunno. What I have observed is that when I see something or hear something, I am like, oh this reminds me of something. That's why at times I am a bad listener or end up saying weird things. Two guys I knew were explaining a crime scene together and I remembered BL. I watched a person celebrating their win and I remembered a cartoon scene. I looked at a girl and she looked like a bird. I watched a movie scene and remembered an anime trope. Such that at times I am like, I am a story character. But then I am also following certain rules I created for myself. I have a certain subtle control over myself in that sense. I wanna become a better person or improve myself (build myself basically).

You will also see me not forming detailed plans. Not at all. I don't like to spend that much time making plans and all. Even my plans aren't detailed. I am not like, I will act only when my plans are full proof. I will rather think, I will do this, then this, I should do this within a week, I should do this and that. That's why I am quite adaptable as a person. But I do require some preparation like an idea or some information before doing something. I am like, ok this thing benefits me, I can learn this and that, this is a great opportunity, let's pick this. Ok this field will let me explore various streams a bit as I currently don't have any idea regarding job. Wow, this anime makes me go to research, so fun, I would get to play with chemicals and all. And then I get to collecting information a bit or taking action, depending on the thing. Hm, my stomach is full so I should eat less, I shouldn't eat at night or my weight will increase, let's just get to the competition as I am curious about others ideas and I wanna write a poem too. Let's pick this elective as it's lighter compared to my main subjects. I should talk to them to practice my communication skills. Let's do all these papers and then revise the syllabus. Let's do this by markings as I have less time. Do I have all the resources to make this stuff? The main thing, if I do this, my mother would scold me (dunno how to get rid of this). Due to this, I end up not reading instructions in too much details or I made a mistake by not reading my main subjects syllabus that properly such that I ended up underestimating the syllabus. I always make this mistake by not reading what happens totally in reality, just like I didn't really read what happens during the army and all those hard things, even the research thing, same with picking this Major (I have adjusted tho), fee structure, etc. I need to fix this bad habit of mine. I also remember things in the last moment (I am still successful tho such that my one friend thinks I am organised, compared to him atleast, as I finish my work on time, just very forgetful). That's why I lack interest in external rules and regulations. Even bureaucracy. I can easily take action even though I am lazy as hell.

My friends think I am a logical person, one said I am street smart or something which I don't know why they think so. They think I am confident. Like, yeah I can easily talk to the professors, the shopkeeper or someone if I need to ask something and all compared to my friends as I don't think too much about what the other person will think. Same when I give presentations because my entire focus is on getting my job done properly. Of course I am not entirely immune to what others will think and all. That's why my college friends think I am kinda ambiverted (I mean I can talk to others easily but it's about approaching, not maintaining a conversation which I suck at and meet so many people every day?! That's draining as hell. Imma lazy.) when I am excited, you can see me talking a bit but I talk to myself way too much. haha. Saying whatever is in my mind. See I do read instructions but it's like when I was making some food or recipe, making some model or what, etc. I can read instructions whenever necessary. Of course to make those things I need instructions but I loathe too much instructions. But not those boring ones, what is the budget, too much instructions and rules written somewhere like for college examination, nah.. that's boring. Maybe if I had enough money and not stuck with security concerns or getting scolded by my mother, I would have tried to explore around more, places, foods, toys, books, but yeah I am lazy as hell too so dunno if I had left my phone after that? I love to hear various ideas and all but most of the time my mind is blank or I am lazing around or I am watching cat videos or reading mangas.

If you talk about my morals. I have strong morals but I don't think about them all the time. I realise them on spot. Do I care about finding my identity? Nope. I am way more curious about this world and knowledge thingy. My curiosity is my guide. I wanna see beautiful places, try out various things. See I get curious about myself but it's like, yeah, I know this about myself, heh? I am like that? That's interesting. But what you think about me is it really true? They didn't pick sentimental for me while I am actually an emotional person inside. Though yea my one friend said that I have all or nothing approach to my emotions. But I can judge people like this, this person is selfish because they don't care about others, this person is cheating on this person because she put her head on someone else (dunno but people consider showing affection to someone else as cheating), crime is crime as at the end you killed an innocent person so how is this sending a message, you are limiting lives of women to just one thing that is marriage while they have their own dreams and desires you are hurting them in this process, etc. (mind you, I am so unaware of rumours and all around me). But at the same time I have this tendency to accept arguments or new information from outside temporarily until a contradiction arrives or extra information comes. At times I am like, I am basically saying things which someone else believes or some argument from someone else (not that I don't have my own beliefs but I have this tendency at times). Such that thinking is a process for me rather than a result.

Just like today I asked my friend why she thinks I am ambiverted (a small activity at college) and after what she said I was like, but we can't still trust these activities honestly, I mean, this is all subjective, everyone is sharing what they think about you, not actually what you are, so how is this helpful? Today we did OCEAN test (Big 5 personality) and my professor said, you have high neuroticism and average Extroversion as you tend to keep your feelings to yourself and don't share them with anybody easily, making you less expressive. Yup. He got that right. As a result, I can be easily assertive with my opinion, autonomy, freedom and all. But, I can't easily express my desires and feelings with the outside world (but I cry easily, get angry easily and can overreact emotionally at times so dunno). I am curious about myself because I am like, what qualities do I have? What kind of personality do I have? What are my strengths and weaknesses? What do I like (curiosity, stories, travelling)? Currently after analysing my past (I was figuring out what caused me low self esteem) I am kinda regretting not saying what I felt loud to others and all, of course I have shared my issues but maybe I didn't do that assertively. If I had defended myself way better and question my negative thoughts, things could have been different. when people ask me to do something and they don't give clear instructions I get utterly LOST and probably will do the task in a different and wrong way than intended. I do my own instructions when I know that if I get it wrong, I can go back and redo it or that if I do it wrong, it wouldn’t be that bad. I trust myself when I am alone a bit

Well everyone has values in their lives right? I don't get why it's always associated with Fe or Fi high users. Since childhood I have been interested in self improvement and stuff. I want to be kind and I don't even remember why I even wanted to. I like to help people and want to treat others better ig. Not at the expense of myself of course. I want to become capable so that I can handle my life by myself whenever some issue comes up. I want to be responsible due to seeing my father being irresponsible and due to his passiveness, he made some financial mistakes where were absolutely unavoidable (still annoys me, argh). That's why I don't like irresponsible people. All they do is cause others problems with their incompetence and waste time. I don't like egoistic people because I just find them annoying and they look down on others. If I hear: "I am better than others, others are shit" my ears will bleed. Has been like that since childhood. I don't like to be underestimated as well. Nothing wrong with being proud but definitely not egoistic myself. I mean, I had rather try to not have qualities in me I dislike in others after all. people make reckless choices when drunken in emotions. I just wanna become a better person. Unlimately, Knowledge is Power. a person with integrity too.

Well I don't understand what a person means when they decide things based on what feels right. How can you make decisions just by what feels right or wrong? I mean, are they gut feelings, intuition, or what? My mind doesn't think, this feels right, this is illogical or logical, when English isn't my first language. Well I have examples where I made decisions to see what gives me more opportunities, advantages or is beyond my limits or unsuitable for me, where I can learn and gain, what is beneficial for both me and the other person here, so that we don't get hurt and can go on with our lives, idk. My decisions were always like what would or how would it help me in this situation or what would help the other person in that situation. But then I have made decisions for other reasons so dunno. I chose an elective because I wanted to play with chemicals (ik silly reason) yet chose to aim for above 80 percentage rather than 90 percentage by looking at my mental state (atleast I achieved it haha). I always look for various ways to solve my problems, if one doesn't work, try another approach. I don't care how bizarre the solution is haha. Such that just to end a conflict I started myself accidentally I said a movie dialogue and everyone left laughing, phew!

Noticing Differences

I have been noticing some difference between several people I know and at times I don't get them, yeah.

One guy I know had a dream since class 9 that he wanted to be a space scientist until recently he said that he realised that the reality was harsher and chose Computer Science to pursue Cyber Crime and Security since that's mainstream. I was like, how did he limit his route to one thing that easily? Me on the other hand, as a child I wanted to be a detective since I liked mystery and puzzles until I dropped it due to some unknown reason. During middle school I wanted to go to Army just for the sake of adventure and actually did start doing stretching exercises daily, eating healthy and collecting articles until dropped it as there would be rigid discipline and too much exercise (Ik my bad, I realised it later). Then during highschool I watched some Science anime and wanted to be researcher and all but now seeing that there would be too much paperwork, repetition and I would need to pay a lot to publish my research papers, I was like nah. And then temporarily I wanted to be a therapist as I thought I could help people until I was like, nah, last time that girl I knew kept venting around and did nothing to do about her issues. That's emotionally draining. And currently I took up a Major just to buy time to explore fields before I realise what kind of job fits me (I took a Minor just to develop skills even though there's no guarantee if I will actually go to that field because what's the harm in learning something. I am like, how can you limit your life to just one thing way that quickly? What if later you realise that field doesn't suit you? What if some constraints come? What are you gonna do?

Then there was some classmate with whom I watched a Ghibli Movie (Princess Mononoke). At the end I find the movie refreshing as I liked the idea it was expressing and all, the art style was ethereal and concept was interesting. While that guy was like, nah not that satisfying, I don't like movies which lack details as I want to know why that happened, why this happened, etc. I was like, but this is how this storyline is like, and he was like, unsatisfactory. That too when he is too cynical and I am like, nah, that's too pessimistic (even though I can be like that as well but I can't tolerate too much negative or hopelessness).

Then my one friend who took a drop for an entrance exam because she was feeling guilty for not studying well. I didn't say anything to her as I would end up hurting her and she would just be cross with me but I was like, you didn't get it because you procrastinated all the time, where is even that guilt coming from. Also taking a drop just because you are guilty? Will you be able to study the whole syllabus again and there's no guarantee whether the next paper would be harder or neutral? (Personally I knew she won't qualify in that exam again due to her procrastination habit, not that she is incapable but she has to break that procrastination habit of hers. It's dangerous than mine.) I didn't take drop for one entrance exam as I was fed up of studying a certain subject and there was no guarantee that those people won't make blunders in those tests again. I was fed up of revising the same syllabus again and again and now just wanted to move forward. Already those idiots ate my two marks and asked for money to fix that, like why am I supposed to pay for your mistake?!

My cousin brother wasn't willing to break one engagement (basically his fiancee wasn't communicating well and he didn't want to lose his freedom) as he would upset his parents. I said that if he doesn't want to marry he shouldn't. If he is unhappy, will his parents be happy for him? Also it's so clear that she wasn't interested in this engagement either, due to lack of engagement on her side. He should be assertive. He was like, you are a good person... It's ok, I will just woo her. I was like, why did you waste my time? (He got happily married to someone else as the girl got job in another state, so basically she was career oriented. nice) I get that people want their parents' happiness but they have to look at the situation as well. If the other person is not communicating, you have to be assertive. At the end, you are going to live with that, not your parents.

It's interesting to see how others are different from you yet confusing at times haha. But ig that's what makes this world interesting at the end.

Just A Question and Your Opinion

Which cognitive functions are involved if someone makes final decisions by looking at consequences, what they can gain, what their interests are, necessities, freedom to explore when not sure or no direction even though follow their idealism or imagination at times until the reality proves the opposite and they dropped them due to reality constraints, hence adaptable?

Difference between Se and Ne

As there are so many stereotypes and descriptions on internet, it gets difficult to point out the functions. Ne users can be action oriented, Se users can be resourceful and introspect with their Ni. The question is, what exactly runs the process? Can a person who is bad at directions because they are lost in their heads always be a Ne activity or even Se users can be prone to that? Can Se users be highly resourceful and future oriented regarding important things and care about opportunities and possibilities? What exactly is the difference between them?
