I wanted a light pink GBP shell. I bought one on eBay, but it was pretty awful. It was a cheap feeling shiny plastic, and the color was way too light, it didn’t look pink. More like a pale skin tone. I also thought I was prepared to cut the USB C hole and the screen hole, but I decided I didn’t want to do that.

So I used the pre trimmed shell I got with my battery/screen mod kit (I got white just in case I had to paint it) and well, painted it. I used primer first (be responsible, kids) then a pink spray paint and finished it off with a matte clear coat. I gave ample time for each one of them to dry. You really don’t want to rush finishes. I let that sit for a few days before handling (you should wait longer to be safe, but it’s been weeks and I got impatient.) I’m quite happy with it. I wiped it down with a micro fiber cloth cause it feels a bit powdery/gritty. I assume that’ll go away with light use, or wiping with dry paper towels. The battery door doesn’t fit the greatest, it’s very snug and I have to push the sides down. That doesn’t matter too much, cause I got the USB C recharging mod, so I won’t be taking it off.

I’m glad I didn’t settle, I’m so stoked for the finished product. If you want a specific color for your gameboy mod, and you can’t find it anywhere, go ahead and paint it. It’s not hard or expensive, but it’s a bit time consuming. They made iridescent color shift spray paint, and that might be kinda sick. Fuck, I just had that idea while typing this and now I wanna do that.

I bought my console (pink one) about a month ago. I’ve been loving it, especially after I installed my own theme and cleaned up the rom set. I bought my dad and girlfriend one cause I figured they’d like it. Both are fake. The SD card can only be read with disc genius, and it has files on it that prove it fake. The build qualities is also horrible. The buttons are stiff, the screen looks like ass and the OS is fucky.

I applied for a refund on AliExpress and assuming it goes through I’ll buy ones that are real.

Here I have the Retro Modding GBP stand. I was thinking of buying another one for my R36S, but it’s too thick. I want a nice looking acrylic display stand that would work with my R36S. I want to have a shelf of my handheld collection with each console having their own display stand.

I’m looking to buy this 2DS, but I don’t know if this can be cleaned or if it looks like deep scuffing. What do you guys think?
