Should I just put my book on Ingramspark and click the option for it to be put on Amazon or should I put it on both Amazon and Ingram?

How would you create a mall that is also a dungeon? I'm trying to figure that out, I can understand there being magical items and other loot but what about monsters, puzzles and traps?

While I'm waiting for some fixes to be made to my second book, the cover art has a typo in it and I needed to reformat it, does anyone have any advice on what to do next?

I have promoted on reddit, I have reached out to book blogs , podcasts and reviewers, I plan on talking to book stores once the cover is fixed and I can talk to Ingramspark about get my book store ready.

Where else should I promote the book? Where are some good websites to promote my book? I know Ingramspark will do a thing where they send your book to reviewers for a fee, is that worth anything or would I just be wasting my money on that?

So I am mildly annoyed at how my second book launch has gone. A lot of this is on me not knowing what the fuck I'm doing and stuff I can fix. A lot of my annoyance comes from how I formatted the book at first and also not noticing that the cover artist made a spelling error, they didn't notice this either and they spent more time looking at it than me. The title is supposed to be 'The Department of Adventuring' and the title on the current cover is 'The Department of Adveturing.' I didn't notice this until someone pointed it out.

I originally formatted the book as 8.5 x 11 and while that's not bad for a book its not really ideal for a story book, it is now 6 x 9 which is far more reasonable. I also didn't realize that the manuscript wouldn't be properly broken up by chapter by Amazon, I did go back and reformat that and now the chapter beginnings are all on their own separate pages. I was hoping that I'd have the book ready on Ingramspark by now but there's some issues there and I should probably call customer service to see whats up and to get things fixed (I also need to fix the cover for that book launch as its the same cover with the typo). I really wanted to get my book in stores by now and I just realized I sent out stuff for reviewers and knowing that the book is kind of scuffed at the moment in terms of presentation really doesn't help. Although I am fixing these issues, I really do hope that this doesn't affect reviews. I'd rather the content of the story be what people get into and not the less than ideal launch.

(This is something straight out of my personal universe from the DnD-like books I've been writing. Dragons in universe are not aggressive and humanoids just baffle them endlessly.)

Between the 10th and 14th century in Europe, it was quite common for a knight as part of their training to ride out into the wilderness alone in search of a dragon. They would then challenge said dragon to a duel of honor and would gain themselves honor that could garner favor with high ranking nobles and even the king of their country.

The knight would announce themselves to a draconic settlement and ask to meet any trained in combat. The knight would make their case as to why they were there and challenge a draconic warrior to a duel. The dragons would usually react the same way, they'd ignore the knight until they went away as how dragons define honor and how humanoids define honor do not align. So it became pretty common for the knights to return home and make up a story.

This worked until the late 14th century when dragons would begin to interact more and more with humanoid civilization. When the crown prince of a small principality in modern day Germany had supposedly bragged to all about how he bested a famous greatwyrm paladin of Bahamut and Tiamat in single combat, the actual paladin took umbrage with this.

So the massive greatwyrm walked into the estate of the prince through a very large group of bewildered nobles, staff and guards and challenged the prince to a rematch. The prince then meekly told the crowd that he and the paladin never fought and about the practice. For another century, this tradition changed drastically.

From then on, witnesses would go with the knights and approach the dragons for combat. The dragons in turn would ignore this group of humanoids until they went away. This practice became outlawed when a young king wanted to impress his retainers and court. He pestered a warrior dragon relentlessly until the dragon gave in. The king was very quickly and rather embarrassingly beaten within less than a minute by the warrior in front of a small crowd of people. After that, the practice was banned.

I put my second book on Amazon KDP last night. I'm just waiting for the confirmation.

I'm currently writing a book that is very heavily inspired by DnD. The setting is a fantasy version of the USA. The characters are essentially magic cops and they are going across the US to find and stop a cult from resurrecting a dead god. So far I have several random encounters that the party will come across that have absolutely nothing to do with the story and I want a few more. These are the ideas that I already have so far.

-A dulahan motorcyclist that has been terrorizing a small town for a very long time.

-A literal ghost town that was created during the Old West when a train derailed and the resulting accident killed everyone in town and on the train. Every night on the highway, the tragedy replays.

-A coven of hags lures in travelers to their tourist trap to kill and eat them.

-A town is forced to dance constantly because the historical society found an old gramophone and blank record, the music it plays is forcing everyone to dance and no one can stop it.

-A creature in the woods haunts a small rural town.

-While driving down the highway, a massive storm elemental manifests and wreaks havoc across the land.

-A mimic in the form of a general store attacks the party when they stop to get snacks.

-In an abandoned factory town, the factory still runs. Constructs and summoned creatures still pump out nonsensical objects and the factory needs to be shut down as many of the objects are dangerous.

-Small fishing village is run by a cult (that has nothing to do with the other cult) and they try to sacrifice the party to the kraken they worship.

Anyone else got any good ideas for random encounters or side stories? Granted, the party doesn't need to stop and earn money as they already work for the US government as law enforcement. I just want some interesting ideas for things that could happen on the road.

I have tried to come up with some story ideas for my third book. The main plot is the characters driving across the US in modern day and it is a world similar to DnD. I want to have the characters encountering random little adventures as they progress through the story and I need a bit of help coming up with ideas for what they would encounter in small town America. I already have a few ideas for what they would encounter in the wilderness like dinosaur stampedes, fey and getting falsely accused by talking animals for littering and brought before a court in the forest. But the only really weird thing I can think of for a random town encounter is that they get captured by a cult that makes up an entire small town and will be sacrificed to a kraken the town worships. But that's not really enough for me. I can think of plenty of small town horror stuff but not really small town fantasy stuff. The only other random encounter I have that feels fantasy Americana is a vampire trucker that the characters stumble upon randomly in an old gas station. Any ideas would be fantastic.

I always hated to do these quests in the GBA games where you had to catch stuff. Like you had to freeze these little bastards in Season of Flame in one of the earliest levels and I could never figure out how to get them all as a kid because they were too fast and hard to see. So I would just ignore those types of mini games because I couldn't figure out how to do it. There were a couple of mini games like that in Season of Flame.

Spyro 1: Save your dragon dads from being incased in crystal by an old enemy to dragons.

Spyro 2: Get kidnapped and forced to clean up some random idiots mess because the guy they summoned is a dragon racist.

Spyro 3: Save an entire generation of baby dragons from a magical dictator who wants to use their wings for a spell so she can be immortal.
